  1. I searched in vain to find the perfect honey with no floral notes. The one I like best is the honey from GL Candle Supply (GLcandlesupply.com )
  2. I let my loaf sit overnight just in case! My bars I let sit for 2 hours max.
  3. I just ordered some Stephenson Crystal Clear HCVS (vanilla stable) base from Nu Scents. Has anyone tried it? The site states it's the clearest soap base on the market. (I HOPE) I've tried Peaks' Crystal Clear and WSP Crystal Clear and am satisfied by both but was hoping for something a little clearer. Any other recommendations? Thanks!
  4. I use both canned and powdered Coconut Milk and love it. It does make it creamier. 1 tsp is a good starting point but you can definitely up it. The scent is so light but refreshing and comforting. You should have no problems adding it to you M&P soap.
  5. If you whip M&P expect to get a rubbery frosting-like consistency--- think marshmallow fluff. It will never get truly rock hard but it does stiffen up a bit. It's still pretty cool to use but nothing like frosting.
  6. Thank you! I will try it! Marlene
  7. Hi, I'm going to sell my first MP soaps at a craft fair this month. I haven't seen any MP sellers (only CP/HP) at the local craft fair. These crafters usually sell their soap for $4.00-$7.00 a bar. What do you typically sell your MP soaps for? Also do you sell cut & slice loaf soaps? How do you handle it (with gloves and do you have one sample bar from the loaf) at the fair? Thank you! Marlene
  8. I've done it several times with this company as well as others. It's great, at least for me it was. Obviously the only cost is sample product, packaging and shipping. It directed business my way and I tapped customers I normally wouldn't have. It was especially good when I was starting out my business. I don't do it too often I usually limit myself to two (2) to four (4) times a year. It's good to get in the Christmas/Holiday box. Good luck with it! Make sure you package your samples nicely and add a coupon or promotion card with it.
  9. Love NG's...been using it for several years and my customers who buy it keep coming back for more.
  10. I'm fairly new to adding additives to MP soap bases. I usually add some shaving soap to my MP base. It just donned on me that I have a liquid foam booster that I add to my shower gels. Can I use it in the MP base? Has anyone done this? I'm curious about what the results were. I'd like to maximize the use of this in multi products if possible. Thanks! Marlene
  11. Try NG's Gardenia. My customer's love it.
  12. Yes, I saw that too. I wonder if JBN gets their base from WSP?
  13. I was just on the Just By Nature site and noticed their soap bases are the same as WSP. The only difference is the price. Has anyone ordered from JBN before? I love WSP's soap but their shipping kills me!
  14. I bought one and they are actually soap. They are displayed different ways, usually in plastic wrap. Some boutiques have the entire loaf and will cut off a piece, and you pay by weight. I think it's cool. On their site they said they use fresh bananas in one of their soaps (Smoothies)? I wonder how that works. I did notice they are part of Fresh Body Market, or at least share the same physical address.
  15. I've noticed these at local boutiques for several years but I didn't realize they were all from the same company. They have really cute designs: www.theroyalsoap.com
  16. The first time I purchased something from them the products were fine, but shipping was slow and there was no response to email. The box that it arrived in smelled moldy. I figured it was just where they store their boxes. I didn't order from them in a while and gave them another chance, since then it's been fine. Fast and very reasonable shipping, good clean products and replies to questions. Jody offers many items that WSP offers and it's cheaper for me to have them shipped from her than WSP's sky high shipping. I trusted her enough to place a $1200 order, and it was just fine and packaged beautifully. It seems like it's hit or miss for people.
  17. Try www.papermart.com I get my boxes from them for my status jars and they have a great return policy, if you order a package or case and don't like them you can return them no hassle.
  18. I did a craft show yesterday and it was slow as molasses. It was my first at that particular location. Last year I attended as a shopper and it was super busy. Most the vendors I spoke with agreed it was super slow and were a little surprised. I hope this isn't an indication about any upcoming shows. How has the traffic been at any of your craft fairs or shows this season?
  19. I do a fundraiser with a local school and I designed my own order sheet (swiped the basic form from Candle Cauldron and tweaked it) and then took it to Fedex- Kinkos and had them make duplicate copies in NCR paper (pink and white color). The first year I did the fundraiser I did triplicate (one for the student, one for me and one for the sponsor/teacher) but decided it wasn't needed. I found the duplicate copies work really well! I designed my own brochures using the templates available at Vista Print and just stuck my logo on it. I used their coupon to get 1/2 off. They run sales/coupons almost every other day so you should be able to get your brochures for relatively cheap. Good luck!
  20. I buy mine at Target and Wally World.
  21. I recently bought a Professional Kitchen Aid 6 qt (refurbished) from Buyitnow64.com and it works great! It was $219 with a 30 day money back guarantee and 6 month warranty. Shipping was $14.95 I shopped around and couldn't beat it.
  22. I buy from GL and love their Fos. I use paraffin, as well as a blend and their FOs work fabulously! I like the fact that you also get free 2oz FOs with your purchase. Their CS is great, Brenda is great to work with as far as questions and suggestions. But the previous post was correct, you'll have to try their FOs for yourself to see how they do with you- everyone is different. Good luck!
  23. Check out TSW they have them a little pricey I think.
  24. If you have a Sur La Table (kitchen store) they carry them too.
