  1. I Use USPS for all of my smaller Boxes and UPS for larger Orders. I Have had so many problems with Fed Ex and actualy getting MY own packages. Seems that they can't find my House, and as a result have delivered literally dozens of boxes to someone else's house that i have never been able to retrive. Whenever someone tells me they are shipping fedEx, i always say, "let me give you a different Address"
  2. First and Main did have some Called "kit Kats". They came in Grey and white striped and orange & white striped. I Know i have a couple running around here if you need em.. just LMK
  3. Fragrance oils react faster in smelly jelly's than they do wax and soap.. nauture of the beast. And FO that contains Vanilla will become darker and evenually turn brown because of it. Some more quickly than others.
  4. Well, You can Slice them with a Heat knife, but you have to be really careful about keeping the temp perfect. I know of some who use a sawblade to slice thru slices, again, have to watch the temp. There is a moldmaker who makes slice molds (www.rosescandles.com) and (www.scottcrew.com) I've tried using all of these methods and the one thing they have in common is that since the Gel wax remains exposed, in unvariably "leaks" as is the tendency of Gel wax when not contained. Since you don't actually Melt gel, only heat it to change it's viscosity to something pourable, when it left uncontained in a warm environment, like a home.. it will have a more tendancy to run. SO what looks great on Day 1 will not be the same on Day 30.
  5. Wow, That Graphic looks really familiar, like i have seen it a ton of times, just don't know where..
  6. Instead of Glycerin i used Cocamidopropyl betaine, Works like a charm.
  7. Definatly look at the area you are in, i was at a show a few weeks ago ( one that i have done for 10 years) we Zippered up the side walls and put the weights on the tent (show is on a boardwalk right next to the bay, so wind is a problem) well we went to check on the booth at 11pm because i am paranoid, everything was still standing.. Arrived back at 9 am the next morning to open up and 3 of my brand new sides had been slashed with a knife or something. No product taken. Atleast 15 vendors got vandled at the show.. so definatly look at what type of security they will be offering and at the area you are in..
  8. Well the show had over 440 vendors, so having 17 probably isin't all that out of line, specially since some only use candles as a part of the offerings, the kicker was being put on such a short side streeet with atleast 4 SOY vendors!
  9. It was Great to get to meet you At the show! Your display looked sooo nice, Keep up the awsome job! lovin' it!
  10. Labels are basic, i use the address lables from avery, because i love simplicity, i change the styles often, to suit my mood. Find a graphic, and the add the necessary info. (business name and addy) easy, simplistic and fun
  11. Robin, I think alot has to do with the economy.. Jumping for joy at paying $2.87/gallon.. yea.. yikes... At this point in time.. most are keeping their wallets closed. There is so much drama and trepidation, unpredicability. My Sister just got orders for IRAQ, i think many others have as welll
  12. I just finished up my first show of the "fall season" a show i have done for 10 years.Has grown from $50 to $175 for a 10x 12. Used to be a craft show, now out of 250 maybe 10% are handmade. Sales are equal to last years with lot's of customers returning. I had my first vandilization. The entire fronts of my two tents were slashed from end to end.
  13. I'm a bit confused, what are you you trying to get with these?
  14. Thechemistrystore.com has a good price on it, just need to fill out the hazmat forms if buying a bunch.
  15. I'm with Nana's I sell my 8oz square 6/$25, but i but in bulk and sell in vast volume. There are 3 sides to sales, sell low, with vast turnover. Sell high, less turnoever, more money for the effort, or find the middle range.. only you can decide
  16. As with all items, it's a matter of personal taste, if you are completely satisfied with what you are currently using, why bother changing? I think many people on this board find that products that other companies offer do not fit our needs, be it fragrance, soap bubbles , moisturizing..or price range. All up to the one who is ultimatly using the product, and enjoying it quote]
  17. for color, i love the ivory dye from C&S. www.candlesandsupplies.com Works really well. I love thier "production preblend, for votives" for my bakery stuff. It Works really well with every fragrance i have tried, and already contains the additives that parrafin needs to make yummy candles. Use a standard whisk and it's a dream to whip.:highfive:
  18. FOr Fragrance Oils, Make sure they get put in PLastic bottles, Those Boys down in Baggage sure do handle bags kinda roughly and it would suck to get soggy luggage back at baggage claim.
  19. Snickerdoodles are a Cookie, Basically a Sugar Cookie base with added cinnamon to the mix. When made you roll the mix into a ball and coat with a cinnamon sugar mix , they smell soo good.. www.candlesoylutions.com has an awesome FO
  20. Those pics are from an outdoor show i do in August.. It's right on the beach, and the heat starts kicking up to the mid 90's, so i don't take anything that could melt.. learned my lesson afer i lost a couple hundred votives. Even the soy jar candles have been known to start to melt at that show, but sales are too good to pass up.
  21. The soap tins are gift basket style, each one has something different in it. The buckets are my botanical potpourri. I've been thinking about getting longer table cloths, but since i get into the boxes so frequently.. Boxes under the table are not empty, they are stock not yet put out.
