i buy the 2 quart pitchers from the dollar store. they usually come with a colorful lid. just for safety i set them inside another plastic container in case of spill. never had a problem, cheap and easy, so i can have several batches of lye water cooling overnight to work with in the morning.

Chocolate, as well as other sugar based candies absorb fragrance that is placed around them. That;s why you should never make candle baskets that contain candies. It doesn't take very long (less than 12 hours) for the candy to take on the fragrance.

Raising the price for the candles to cover the 20% is not unreasonable. actually it's an advantage to any customer who can buy in store and not have to pay for the shipping that it would cost them if they ordered from the website. My ebay and website items cost more that items i have at my market store. I make al of my internet items to order vs items i have instock that may be displayed for weeks

Laugh, Be Fun and entertaining. This Works mostly if you are selling face to face. I've been doing craft shows for 15 years, and the best wisdom i can impart to everyone is. BE happy. I did a show in december where the other 50 vendors at there made barely( or less) than their booth fee ($25) my sales were over $3000. People like to buy from happy people. Not someone who is sitting behind a table glaring and not paying attention to their customers. Laugh, Talk, share Jokes.. I chatter constantly at my booth, and i joke about the fact that i do so.. who would you rather buy from, someone who is sitting in their booth doing a crossword, reading a booking, working on stuff for "the next show" or someone, who looks you in the eye and says " Hi, how are you today?".. Don't ask in they want to smell a candle.. say. "this is an awesome fragrance, you gotta smell it" don't shove it in the nose. Just Put it in smelling distance. Focus less on the selling element and more on showing off how much fun your products are. When people see your passion for the items that you sell, in a more relaxed , fun environment, they are much more likely to buy. And Yes, that's why i am still online at 2am.. I just finished my work for the day. A new wholesale customer ordered 500 candle pies that i have to finish my Thursday.. A SMILE and Laugh work wonders..

That is way too much writing on the lable. People want to see the colors and beauty if the candle, not have a book about it's maker on their coffee table. The front part looks good. That's all you need, a good picture describing your fragrance. If you need to have a bar code, move it to the bott0m where the warning lable is. if it's in a 16 oz jar, their will be plenty of room along with all the burning instructions.

i have worked with the sweetcakes version of vanilla lace in CP soap and the one from Natures garden is better.. i had less discoloration and the fragrance is stronger after a 6 week cure.

I use it alot and yes, if often turns colors. The quickeness with which it darkens can vary by your location. High humidity in MD causes my vanillas to darken quicker than the dry heat my sister has in CA. I always just explain to my customers why it happens. never had anyone who really cared.. they just love the feel.
