  1. I did this when I was first learning and like said above, it pulled away from the sides terribly and had NO scent throw at all. Was not pretty!
  2. Yes, as a couple have already said, put it in wax and try it out. I have 3 from The Candle Source that I purchased and do not smell well to me OOB, but once in wax they weren't too bad. I have also had ones that I really like OOB but I didnt like in wax so it's best to just try them out in wax.
  3. I doug out a new mold I purchased quite some time ago to make some bars for my BF and the lettering in the bottom stuck when I took the soaps out of the mold. It is a plastic mold with lettering in the bottom quarter inch of the mold. I poured white into the letters and then a color over top to fill them up. I just un-molded them and only 1 of the 4 bars came out in tact, the other 3 came out, but parts of the letters stuck in the bottom of the mold. I have other molds similar to this one and have never had this issue before. What did I do wrong?
  4. Aside from the scarf being cute, she's adorable!
  5. Ya....NO, dont call it Cough Drop! That does sound like something unpleasant!
  6. Have you tried putting Stearic in your MP to harden it and make it last longer?
  7. I dont think I would double wick this jar. I use this jar also and the opening is way to small to double wick. I use an LX 28 in it and only fill it just over 3/4 of the way full. It gets pretty warm the first couple burns but the bottom half of these containers is so big. Im just thinking if you dbl wick, its going to be so friggin hot near the top of the jar that it would almost be dangerous. I think I would just order more wicks and wait for them to come. Just my thoughts, maybe someone else will chime in on it also.
  8. Can you re-melt it and get it back to a lt grey and then play with the color from there? I had a couple that were supposed to be navy that came out grey and I added a whole color block of white to it and played with it and got an interesting blue out of it. Just an idea!
  9. I pour at 200-210* and have also tried pouring clear up to 230* but get the same results. I pour it and dont mess with it for hours... It does this with all 6 of my molds except my square votive molds.
  10. Great idea! Never seen that done. I love it!
  11. I have been having the same problem with mine! I get the feathered look from the bottom to about half way up and then a little at the very top. Hopefully somebody will respond...
  12. I purchased a dipped bear years ago and it smelled for about 3 months and has just sat and collected dust in my bathroom...I know it says to take a hairdryer to them to re-freshen them up but it doesnt seem to work. Is there another way to get the smell back into these?
  13. I use J225 which has been almost the same as 223 and I use LX wicks and they work great for me.
  14. I still display mine on wood shelves that DH built for me. The ones on the top shelf have to be taken down to be read but I dont think it bothers ppl because they have to take it down to smell it anyways!
  15. I have never had this problem before, ever. I am using J225 and have always used LX wicks. I poured Egg Nog f/o into a square Mason and let it cure for 3 days. When first lit, it burns great. After about 10 minutes, the flame is almost nothing and after about an hour it goes out. Could it possibly be the f/o? TIA

  17. Call your bank or card company and dispute the charge. This will get thier attention and they will have to respond. Good luck!

  19. Very well said, "Soft and pretty". It's a beautiful color, my favorite!
  20. You're Christmas container looks great and I also double wick mine too! Keep up the great work...
  21. What do you suggest for a 'true' and creamy Egg Nog f/o? Peaks isnt bad, the best so far. I just received a sample from the candlesource and it smells a little off. Or, is anyone interested in selling me an ounce to try if they have it? Thanks!
  22. I havent found alot of oils from Candlechem that I like either. They dont seem to be real strong.
