  1. Thanks for all the replies, I ended up adding some orange clove to tame it down a bit. It will be ok for me to burn just so it doesn't get wasted. If I burn it and can't stand the smell it will go in the trash or goodwill or give it to somebody to burn. But only someone I know just to finish burning it. I remember my sister-in-law gave me a gardenia scented candle years ago I tried to burn it in the house and out on the porch and just could not tolerate it. I finally sent it to the goodwill. Someone who loves that scent got a good deal it was a large Yank**. LOL !! Thanks chandlers for the help.
  2. Somebody please make a suggestion. I have a large jar that my daughter was going to throw away and I said I will take that knowing it was not one of my favorite fragrances but my heart sank just to know wax was going in the trash. LOL!!! I was thinking something to soften or totally give it another smell if possible. So any help would be appreciated.
  3. what would be good to mix with cool citrus basil? Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks
  4. Thanks everyone for the replies on the tart prices. My thoughts on prices were not to far off. Its been a while since I have had to buy wax and I know it will be higher than the last time I bought some. Hence the reason for my question.
  5. Could anyone share what they charge now a days for tarts that are round and fluted on the edges? It has been a long time since I have sold any and an old customer wants some? $ for 1 tart? $ for 6 tarts? $ for 12 tarts? Please any imput is and would be appreciated.
  6. I just wipe the stove off with a old wet soapy dish rag while the stove is still warm the wax is soft and comes right up only tiny splatters. I set my containers / molds in a cardboard box that is flat with short short sides that I get from the grocery store I go to. If and when the box gets over spills which isn't to often I usally burn it in my fireplace to start a fire or throw away. I am very blessed to have a daughter that can get use baby wipe material from the end bolts that is discarded were she works for free, I cut them up about the size of a small dish towel to use for wipe ups also. Don't know what I will use if she ever quits or they move out. I am usually pretty tidy. LOL!!!!
  7. Does anyone know where I can get this at? I use to get it at wix end it was right on like yankees, I have a sample from the cms and it is not smelling the same, other than that I am at a loss as to where to order from. Can anyone suggest for me. thanks
  8. Thanks Raven for the info, I think I might just try a slab and drive a little further south to get my usual wax from steve the candle maker store. You can pick up your order but they do not have a store, so that saves on shipping. Also Eric I do know candle source uses zinc wicks in thier candles they sell in the store, not sure that info is any help to you as some ppl won't use zinc wicks or doesn't like them. And to the poster who uses the wood wicks with the wax from tcs thanks for sharing that info. Now I can experiment and feel like I am not wasting my time or money. If I ever do sell any candles with there wax I won't be able to claim they are soy or even part soy since we don't know what the other stuff is.LOL!!! you can't blame them for keeping a secret and not telling which wax it is. You guys are awesome.
  9. Ok, I looked at there wax and the one on the left is what they use the one with the "other stuff added" just wonder what that might be. I have burned there candles and they do burn good and smell good. Some fragrances are stronger than others which most suppliers are this way. Just wished I knew for sure the exact wax it is after all there is only a few major manufactures of wax. As far as a straight parrifin she doesn't carry that and I have never seen any straight soy candles from there store. I guess I like to know what manufacture makes what waxes these supply stores use so one can know exactly what it is and how to use it and for what applications and wicks would be ok to use. I suppose I could just experiment but that is so expensive, at least I would have a starting point by knowing what the wax is. OK I am done rantting, LOL!!! thanks for listening or reading.
  10. Thanks for the info. You would think she would know what's in the wax she sales. Maybe someone will know what blend it is also about wood wicks. Or maybe even a number so I could look up the info on it. I have used straight parrifin and also the one pour type softer waxes, that missy's use to carry believe it was called "one pour". Candle source is drivable for me so I would save on shipping with a wax purchase got to save all we can with this economy. Thanks again for your info in the above 2 post.
  11. Does anyone know what there wax is ? What blend or number and company makes it? I want to use it but not sure what to tell people it is ( soy, soy blend, ect.) any info would be appreciated. Also do you think wood wicks could be used in this wax successfully? I feel like expermenting!!! LOL!!!! I have not bought this wax but was thinking about it.
  12. I always add a little black to deepen it. Light shavings if you are using a block then test, add more if needed.
  13. Just tried it and it smells like a spicey pumpkin pie spice, somewhat like make scents pp spice. The pumpkin cheesecake smelled good too, I could detect nutmeg or ginger not sure which spice I was smelling, cause I'd jhave to go smell each spice and I am not home right now. Pumpkin bread smells yummy and I have not burned it yet. I love pumpkin scents.
  14. Thank you all so much I will try Tenn. we are going there at the end of Oct. so may even get to actually visit the place if they have a store front. I will check them out on the web site. If you know of any other scents that are to die for from Tenn candle please let me know. Blessings to all, Jane
