We must not have anyone out here that does the swirls in the soap because this is the first Ive seen of it on this site and it is just awesome! I have never used anything but Melt and Pour... Can you swirl like this with M&P?????

Yes, I did use parrafin for a couple of tins...have 15lbs left and trying to get rid of it. This is the same parrafin I used to pour about 10 glass containers a couple weeks ago that seem to be burning great and are twice the size in diameter with the same wick so Im thinking its probably not the wick. I dont see that the wick is drowning either...

This is the first Ive come accross this problem... Im burning one of my newest made candles. It is parrafin in an 8oz tin and is burning a hole down through the center instead of throughout the entire candle. Never had this happen before. What caused this? Its burning about a 1 inch in diameter hole but not burning the other 1/2 inch on the edges.

I am using 1oz per lb of wax... Have tried 1/2 oz to 1 1/2 oz.. I ordered samples from Peaks, hoping this will help. Im thinking it may just be the supplier Im buying the FO from. Maybe its not strong enough.

It is Peaks Midsummer Nights.... I ordered 10 samples of FO from Peaks yesterday because I cant seem to get a scent throw from the supplier Ive been buying from so a couple people have told me it may be the FO Im using and to try Peaks. Hopefully! These are some of the others I ordered if any of you have used them and can tell me if they smell good or not; Vanilla Hazelnut Carmel Apple Fresh Fruit Cinnamon-is thier cinnamon strong? Wild Raspberry Watermelon I came accross someones posting on here a while back that said that alot of the peaks scents will run you out of the room they are so strong, which is exactly what Im looking for! Any comments on that? =)

Are the swirls just shavings from another bar? And what are you using to shave it like that with?

Also, what is the difference between FO and EO?

Does parrafin have to cure that long also? After they've been poured and sat all day shouldnt they still have smell if you stick your nose down in it even if its not burning?

A day or two...is that too soon? I have a batch right now that I poured about 8 hours ago that have no smell to them whatsoever.

Im am using soy... Ive only come across one other person who said they like FO from the place I mentioned I buy mine from..should I consider ordering from somewhere else?

on trying to get my candles to throw scent and just throw it all away!!! I am using Candle Source FO. Smells great when its melted and being poured but once set, doesnt smell like anything. I am using additives in my wax and the proper(whatever that means!) amount of dye, FO and additives and not getting anywhere with it. I know this takes alot of practice but I must be doing something wrong thats obviously noticeable! I have tried less/more FO, nothing. I have purchased YK candles in the past and they smell great without being lit..shouldnt handmade ones have some smell to them without being lit? Im ready to give up. Thinking maybe I better stick with my soap! Any suggestions? Thanks much.

I am looking for someone who can tell me the correct amount of the two to add per lb of paraffin wax? My scent throw sucks and I have been reading that it could be because I am using too much additive. Correct?

Hi, I am new to candle making and I am experiencing some difficulty with shrink holes. I know that with any wax it is going to shrink at least a little but when I do my candles in glass containers, I pour to fill the shrinkage twice after the first initial pouring and then let them sit many hours. When they are completely cured and setup I am left with about a half inch deep hole right directly around the wick. I have seen the shrinkage be the whole top of the candle, but have never seen it as an actual hole. Am I doing something wrong by what Im being left with?
