  1. I've been wondering about that too. Kinda frustrating for the rest of us who don't know when they go by first name basic.
  2. ME EYES,ME EYES!!! Where are my sunglasses?!!!*faint* LOL, now that's bright green and very cool looking too!
  3. OK this is my latest attempt in making bath salts. The first few ones well...let's just not go there. My latest one is a different recipe and it calls for: Epson Salts 15 oz Sea Salt (any size you like) 12 oz Silica Gel 1 oz Cyclomethicone 2.5 oz Kukui Nut Oil 1 oz Fragrance .5 oz I mixed this up and find that they're really sticking together so I laid them out to dry over the next two days and it's not helping. Should I add more salt or any other ingredients? They not even 'pourable' and I when scooped them up by a handful and shaked off I get alot of salts sticking to my hand not too mention my skin feeling a bit greasy. I really like to add a bath salt line but I've searched high and low for a decent bath salt recipe and thought I hit the right one with this one. I can't even test this one with family and friends. Any tips or advice?? Thanks!
  4. Well let me know how well it turns out, I just love that scent! Shannon
  5. I'd probably would group them by scents so that way, the customers can choose their pick of containers, votives & tealights right away and not have to look for them. I'm opening my shop this spring so I've been brainstorming on displays, layout, decor, etc. and that is probably what I'll do with my scents. HTH Shannon
  6. You're killing me with the suspense here! What what was her response? I too believe in karma so I'd probably carry on about my business and tell the customers the facts about my candles. My hubby on the other hand would have different ideas as he's very outspoken and extremely good at putting people in their place, lol!
  7. Wow.... no one heard of this fragrance??? Shannon
  8. Wow.... no one heard of this fragrance??? Shannon
  9. A couple years ago I bought a bottle of Thymes hand lotion and I could swear it was 'Green Tea & Olive' and now I don't see it anymore on their site, just one or the other. I'm trying to find a dupe for the combination. Any suggestions? Thanks! Shannon
  10. Is there a publication gears toward candlemaking available? I know there was supposed to be one over a year ago here after gauging enough interest but it never became published.
  11. Thanks Just Candles, I will check that out. I think I'm going to cancel my account with the two topsites I just registered as they may be just too overwhelming for the customers.
  12. I hear ya on the peanuts, they a pain in the butt! I learned one lesson though. One morning late last spring I woke up and went into the kitchen and I looked out the window thinking wow it's really windy and.....snowing??? Yup I forgot I set a big(let me emphasize 'BIG') box of peanuts on the back steps and now they were blowing all over my back yard, my neighbour's yard and even made their way over to the front curb and onto the street. What a mess it was and such a flipping pain picking them up. So I never leave them on the back steps anymore even just for a few hours because I WILL forget.:embarasse
  13. Hello, I've had my website online for about 5 months and I've been trying to find ways to boost up my ranking in the search engines and so far it's been slowing improving. However I've noticed on other candle websites is they have links to 'vote for me' for top candle sites. Is this beneficial in any way? I was reluctant to sign up as a member at first on some of those sites because to me it just opens up a whole new door for my potential customers towards other competition. I do however like the advertising side of it as you do get more traffic to your site but I think the majority of them are looky loos anyway.Don't get me wrong, I totally support other candle sites and even voted a few. I'm just worried the customers may find these sites overwhelming as there are up to 250 craft links on some of them and then will simply give up. Am I being too negative? What are your thoughts and experiences with these top candle sites and how do you find them beneficial? So far I've signed on a couple of them but I'm just not 'comfortable' as I don't know too much about them. Thanks for any input!
  14. Hmmmm...... maybe she passed out?? Donita your candles look gorgeous! Very rich vibrant colors, the blue ones are my favorite.
  15. My mom bought one of these little bags only they were called 'simmering soy beans' and they looked like they were made using a blueberry mold. I don't think she tried them yet though.
  16. Wow they're amazing! How do you have the patience to do that? They're stunning, great job! Shannon
  17. OMG I can't believe you posted that because I thought it was just me. At first I thought geez it sure looks like my big tree out in the front where a lower branch was removed years ago and left this huge very visibly disturbing 'female' pattern on the side of the tree. First thing I see when I open my living room curtains *sigh*. Anyhow WAY off topic here but I think the candle now reminds me of a pumpkin after I shrugged off that first imagination immediately.
  18. You beach people, you're TORTURING me ya know that!! It's frigid freezing here (-20) and snowing. I won't be seeing any beach time for another 4-5 months! Well, this weekend I'm making Valentine votives in Love Spell, Angel,Strawberries & Champagne and also some heart shaped candle dishes and hopefully some masons if I have time. Have a great one everyone! Shannon
  19. Thanks everyone! I really appreciate it. The bows are appliques and I hot glued the sheer ribbons to them. I curled the ribbons on the pillar and tucked them into the flowers below. The pillar is made with Ecosoya PB. Thanks again!
  20. I did this for a friend of mine for her wedding. It's a soy pillar 4 by 6 scented in Vanilla. The tapers were store bought:embarasse as I haven't master that yet but I did decorated them! I'd like to add wedding candles to my line but I think I have to practice some more. Any suggestions or input? Shannon
  21. Yes Dani is the naughty spokeperson for Daystar Oils! They outta hire her to stand in front of the building holding a huge sign that says 'BUY DAYSTAR'S,THEY ARE DA BOMB!' (her famous saying, tee hee) I ordered some samples and I got: Ille Flontante Mulling Spices Creme de la Creme Madagascar Vanilla Precious Memories They all smell awesome!! (I even had to rub them on my wrist...... ya I know not a good idea but I couldn't help it,lol!)
  22. Another CO OP?? UH OH I'm in trouble! Geez I gotta stay away from this board,LOL!!!
  23. I bought these little 2 inch 'snippets' from Sweet Pea N Me and they're perfect! They have different shapes like hearts, stars and each comes with a ziploc bag. You just put alittle drop of oil and away you go BUT you can't get them there as her website just closed down or something. This is the second time that happened to me since last summer when I find someone to do my labels. www.sweetpeanme.com Sorry I'm not much help unless someone else knows where to get these. Shannon ETA OK scrap that idea, I didn't see Dani's post on the second page!!
