Hi, I'm not sure if this is the proper thread for it but I've been searching high and low for wholesale companies for early style handcrafted chandeliers particularly the wooden ones. I've seen alot of them through other retail sites and would like to add to my stock. The majority of them are handcrafted in Pennsylvania. Does anyone has information that they could direct me to? Thanks in advance!!

Maybe one layer is strictly water while the other is oil? Just a thought.....

I just came across this, both companies had recalls on their candles in January. Let me guess, he went into your candle looking for some leftover wax to start a fire, found some and then on his way out, came across your 'unimportant looking binder' and decided to use it as kindling. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss, your book I mean. I sure hope you had him sifting through the ashes looking for any traces of your formulas even though there may not be any but at least he'd be paying for it. Hopefully it'll all come back to you.

Thanks guys, I'll have to try cranberry or cinnamon since this Bayberry oil already has a pine and eucalyptus smell to it. Now I'm going to check out New England Bayberry. I'm determined to find the right oil!!

Hello, I've had no luck selling these BCN Bayberry scented candles so I'm going to remelt them and add another scent but I have no clue which one. This particular scent is not even close to what Bayberry should smell IMO. Any suggestions what you would mix it with? Vanilla, cinnamon?:undecided

I thought I saw a thread here regarding wicking a 6 inch wide soy wax pillar. I'm trying to find out what wicks were used. Would HTP 73's work? This is for unscented, ivory colored Eco Pillar Blend. Thanks for any suggestions!

I just tried their brown kraft labels for the first time. I don't know if I like these ones because the paper seems thinner? I had to print one sheet twice (because of two different scents) and it jammed up my laser printer causing some seriously glue residue sticking to the roller part so now I get a streak every time I print. I was comparing these to my previous labels from another company and these are definitely more flimsy and lighter in color. I was able to print the other ones twice with no problems. Also the ink doesn't stay on too well on these either.

I thought 105's might be a bit too big as I use those for my enamelware cups (104 HTP actually). I've got two tins poured, one with 41 and one with 73 to give me an idea where to start as I don't have a clue. I don't have any others in between those two but I have 83's,93's and up. Thanks again for your suggestions!

I thought I'd give you an update on this matter. I sent her a new one after testing another jar from the same batch. I gave her specific instructions on how to keep the wick trimmed properly and burning time. I also enclosed a couple of tealight as an apology for her inconvenience. After a week or so I contacted her to see if she received the jar and she replied she did and that it has been burning fine so far and truly thanked me for the replacement. The only theory I could think of is she may have trimmed the first jar too short so it didn't have a proper melt pool but I kinda wish I had it returned so I can really see what happened but I'm just glad it worked out for both of us. Thank you all for your input and suggestions.

Does anyone use HTP wicks with Ecosoya CB wax in 4 oz deep tins? If so which ones do you use? Thanks in advance!!

Hello everyone! Ok I never thought I'd do this but I'm going to give soapmaking a try and need some advice. I'm just going to go the easy way of melt and pour but because there are so many variety of bases I'm confused which one to go with. This would be just for myself and my family but we all have sensitive skin and my daughter has mild eczema. Normally we use Jergens Mild soap but I'd like to be able to make our own soap because of cost and quality. I'm looking at Nature's Garden melt and pour and they all sound good! Shea Butter Mango Butter Hemp Oil Honey Coconut Olive Oil Goat's Milk Soya Milk What would you suggest to go with for dry sensitive skin. I don't want it to be too greasy either as I have a 't zone' complexion. Thanks for all your help!!

Thanks guys, that's what I'll do, replace the candle. I've thought about the wick part and honestly I'm not comfortable with that because of potential hazard problems. After all this IS the cost of doing business,lol! Shannon:smiley2:

I've been making soy candles for over 3 years and a father bought one of my mason jars from a farmer's market for his daughter who lives a province away. She just emailed me informing that the candle was burning fine for 10 minutes and then it just drowned out. She started digging around the wick and relighting a few times obviously making it worse and now it won't light at all. I'm thinking of offering her a new wick with instructions and a discount for her inconvenience. Is this reasonable or should this be handled otherwise? I'm stumped why this happened in the first place as I do test all my batches. The only thing I can think of is she may have trimmed the wick too short to begin with even though I trim the all the wicks to the proper length. What would you have done? If this was locally I would just simply replace with a new candle but because of shipping I would be out quite a bit just for a mason jar.

I called my hubby at work this afternoon (he works at a hardware building centre) and he and a coworker came up with an idea of using a stainless steel pipe just like you mentioned Vicki. Here's a kicker, the customer not only wants one but FOUR of them! I'm gonna have to order some more wax,LOL!! It'll mainly be for displaying but it's better to be safe to have proper wicking in them. I'll test it using a quarter of the length instead of the whole 24 inches. I'll post some pics once they cooled in about...3 months Now for the pricing.......

No Kidding!! I can't even calculate how much wax this requires let alone the wicking!

Is there such a thing as a 24 inch, 7 inches wide pillar mold? I've had an unusual request for such a pillar candle and am hoping to fulfill it. Can anyone suggest where I can find a good place for one? Thanks in advance!

It sounds like a sale gimmick to me. The company is just trying to deter customers from buying other candles and just use their brand. It's almost like they instilling fear into customers by stating if they don't use their brand then bad things will happen.
