  1. Really liking the Pyramid. I need to get one of those molds.
  2. I heard somewhere that it starts evaporating at 180 but don't know if there is any truth to that.
  3. I would go with what ever kind of candle you prefer whether it be container candles, pillars etc. Then like Top said pick the appropriate kit and go from there. You might want to prepare yourself to go broke too
  4. Thanks for your help Top, they do have the CW-145 so I'll give that a try. Thanks again.
  5. Nice looking candle Top. Much too technical for me. I like the look of the candle in the background too. Can barely see it but the effect is nice.
  6. I was just looking at the supplier closest to me and they carry CalWax products. I'm thinking probably the CW 140 but can't make a frigging decision for myslef. LOL CB#5 CASE CW-#5CB This is a Paraffin/Pillar Blend 142 MP A popular blend for molded candles. Candle Blend 5 works well with all types of molds – metal, plastic and Silicone. This blend has good burning qualities and enables good release from molds. Candle Blend 5 makes colors appear more vibrant and improves surface gloss and hardness. It can be used with heavily scented candles. No additives are required. White color Or CW-140 CW-140 Pillar Candle Wax 139 MP For Molded Candles our "General Purpose" This wax is a drop in replacement for BP 139 or IGI 140. It will mottle with no additives, add some Calbond 165 or Vybar 103 and you get the smooth look, and increased fragrance holding. Stearic Acid is optional, some people like it, some do not. It will opacify the 140, but there is always some risk of color and fragrance interactions. We recommend between 0.1% - 0.5% UV absorber for premium candles. ALSO AVAILABLE IN PASTILLES FOR AN ADDITIONAL .10 PER POUND
  7. Good job. Except that your not supposed to make yours nicer than mine.
  8. It's funny you say that because my wife has been bugging me to do just that. I'm going to give it a shot. I think the straws is a good idea but I want something a little larger in diameter. I still haven't figure out how I'm going to secure them.
  9. I want something fairly versatile. I don't really care about mottling (not a big fan) I do mostly rustic and marbled pillars. I really don't want to test 20 different waxes so figured I would check with the community to see what people prefer.
  10. Good marketing is all double speak or in her case quadruple speak. Need I say more.
  11. Sheez Brenda you're everywhere. I know you are, but I think that was prior to our conversation. Working hard on my end to see what I can come up with.
  12. They look great. Really like the purple haze.:highfive:
  13. Love the vintage look. :highfive:
  14. I've had more problems with votives than any other candle. Oh yeah, and say goodbye to your money.
  15. Nice work. I'm really wanting to learn how to do these. hint, hint, nudge, nudge.
  16. Did someone say C-4? Always did want to play with some of that.
  17. If I recall from my drinking days that these have mint in them and are usually green.
  18. Thanks everyone, I'm going to try the 36ply flat braid and the #2 square braid and see how that goes. I don't feel so bad now that I know I'm not the only one having problems with these. I don't want to give up on them since I really like the beefier (sp?) candles.
  19. Anyone have a wicking suggestion for these. I'm using Astor 4212 and the 1/0 square braid isn't making the grade.
