  1. CareBear thanks for that recipe. It's a good starting point!
  2. This is absolutely what I am looking for as well! I just posted something about this too. I wanted to make a cocoa butter stick, but if I could make something that is thick enough to put into a tin, man that would be great!
  3. I was just really surprised that the first ingredient was vegetable oil. Sesame oil was a surprise to me too. Not that any of these ingredients were bad, I just was really surprised. I thought it would be mostly cocoa butter in a 'cocoa butter' stick.
  4. I have been asked to make a cocoa butter stick like the body shop for a newly pregnant friend. Although I'm a little shocked by their ingredients in this thing! I definately don't want some of these ingredients in my stick! Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Cyclomethicone, Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Butter, Copernica Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Fragrance, Tocopherol, Limonene. I would really like to use cocoa butter, karite shea butter and perhaps some other good ingredients like jojoba, hemp perhaps something like that. Any suggestions and what kind of percentages I should be looking at? I've never made something like this. Thanks for any help!
  5. That's the kind of soap I wish I could make all the time! That's what I try to strive for! LOL. You go girl!
  6. I love that set! How adorable is that "SNOW" ornament! So awesome Jenny!
  7. I would buy it just for the jug idea! I think it's awesome!
  8. Gosh, I haven't the foggiest idea how make those handmade labels but they sure look nice!
  9. I need to package these triangle shaped soap, that I will be giving away with other freebies at my open house this Saturday. Any ideas how to package it without much cost involved? I'm stuck!
  10. Christina, Thanks for your kind words and welcome to Candletech. I think we all just peeked around at first and asked questions when we had some soap frustrations and how to question. I beleive there's no silly question, and if you have any DO ASK!
  11. Totally looks like a honey comb to me! Did you use bubble wrap to get the honey comb look? It's just wonderful!
  12. I did my first craft show today.........It went really well. I made about 7-8 times my table fee. My sister sold her jewellery at her own booth beside me (she sold about 7 times her table fee too) and we had so much fun. I realized it really pays off to stand up, talk to people and have fun when doing it. The people beside us were miserable, and didn't sell one darn thing! They didn't say hi to people, they just sat there with blank glares. My table was very small, way smaller than I thought so I had to keep replacing items with others every so often (gift boxes etc.) This picture was after I replaced a few items that were sold so it doesn't look like it did before when it looked way better...........I just felt silly taking the picture and so I didn't when the show first started. Darn. The most awful thing happened! An old, old lady collapsed and hit her head very hard on the ground, right infront of my table while looking at the table across from me. We had to call 911 and she went to the hospital. It was so scary. The poor little old thing! I beleive she ended up being okay though....
  13. I am having an open house next week too, my whole idea is for people to grab a drink and a few snacks walk around, purchase if they want to, place an order or buy what they see and be on their merry way. I am serving hot apple cider, crackers and a few dips, a bowl of wrapped chocolates, probably some cookies etc........Just grab and walk around kind of snacks. I also don't want to spend loads of money on the food and not get many people to come buy and I don't even make money because I spent too much on food. I'm not inviting too many people, as I don't know too many.........
  14. WOW, that's awesome.......totally looks edible. A great idea to give away for item purchasers!!!
  15. I think the soap looks wonderful, great colors, and swirling. But I agree, the name is a little.........hard to pronounce and odd for someone who doesn't know what it means, you don't want someone overlooking this soap because they don't know what the heck padparadscha is and thinking it's some foreign animal part oil or something............
  16. We know can show our husbands this picture, so our own stashes of FO's don't look so bad! HAHA. Great cabinet!
  17. I think they are the coolest things! YES I think that it is too cheap. I'd say that price for one perhaps. Way to go!
  18. Autumn Leaves ICS Lavender Vanilla (I lovvvve real Lavender EO) Real Citronella EO
  19. Well of course they were popular! Look at them!
  20. OK good responses about it so far. THANKYOU. Knowing that indeed this soap does rice and go funny on me (in past experiences), I thought that before I started this soap the other day and knew I wouldn't be able to do proper swirls or anything. Definately a let-down when it comes to a great FO that does crappy things!
  21. I know what you're thinking......that's no swirl. Well you know my take on my ability to swirl soap. I wanted to make the swirls of this shampoo bar to look like choppy ocean waves considering this FO is 'OCEAN' by Peaks. Do you see that in this soap or does it just look like blobs of soap? Be honest.
