  1. I don't know if it's just summer weather, or what, but some lipbalms have gone kind of chunky, almost grainy little lumps, but there is no shea so that can't be the reason? The chunks melt away after you smooch your lips together, but it still looks and feels weird and I wouldn't want to buy a product like that.....
  2. OK so I came up with a recipe, with all your help. The conditioning is 57 (45-80 is satisfactory for soap), bubbly lather 29 (14-33 higher Bubbly numbers will tend to produce a foamy, fluffy lather rather than a creamy lather), creamy lather 31(16-35 is satisfactory for a creamy lather) Here is what I am thinking. The higher the number for a creamy lather, the less bubbles or foam. My # is very high on the scale. Any suggestions to lower the creaminess to the soap?
  3. Oh, what is the 5% BUTTER? Meaning shea or cocoa???
  4. Thankyou very much for that recipe. Is there anything I can substitute for Palm Kernel Oil? That oil is not easy to come by here. Thanks!!
  5. LOL....were you just on my website!!! HAHA I just added that picture today! Yes you are right it is bubbly. I guess I could use the same recipe and omit the hemp!
  6. So my regular soap I make it bubbly, but I've been asked for a real bubbly one for wedding shower favours I have to make....Any suggestions on what I should use, or if you know of a recipe, or %'s of certain oils to obtain a real bubbly bar? All help is appreciated!! Thanks!
  7. Agreed it looks like a loaf of bread! MMMMMM That will sell great I'm sure! It's so visually appealing!
  8. Aw Thanks Dawn. That batch of Pink Sugar (renamed: Vanilla Sugar) went fast. Didn't help you got 6 of them! LOL.....Yes it definately didn't stay yellow long....a nice caramel color I would say......
  9. WOW that's wonderful you did this test! You would never know it went liquified by looking at it!
  10. Okay first things first...........did you say formaldehyde? What the hell is that stuff doing in our B&B products in the first place! Man, I'm really out of it, if I didn't know that it was being used in B&B products! Is it supposed to be used as a preservative!? -- Your lotion looks wonderful, and I think that test kit is a wonderful idea!!
  11. Absolutely wonderful Brenda! I like how the word 'with' doesn't have the fancy font, good touch........Everything is great about the label.
  12. Ya the soap is already turning a darker yellow. I did add soap with no FO to it, so it will keep a slight middle section of white.........
  13. I actually was just at a spa party for Beauty Control last week. We did a "honey" show of hands, and to me it was just like something I got in a spring swap I did. We also did a facial, and foot scrub, and foot lotion. I have gotten way nicer stuff in my swaps than anything I tried at that spa party. I couldn't beleive the prices and what they were charging for their lip balm, it was like $18!
  14. NG Pink Sugar Why oh why is pink sugar not pink? I knew going into this that the soap was going to discolor. I guess yellow is better than brown! I guess I will name this soap Vanilla Sugar instead of Pink Sugar.....lol.
  15. It looks fabulous....every circle came out perfectly! So did you just line your mold with the bubble wrap and pour the soap into it? And it came off okay??? I would like to do that to the top of my soap, I wonder if I just laid a peice of bubblewrap on the top?!
  16. I added the FO to the soap at a light trace.....it curdled up on me (went white in spots) and then I blended it with the blender until it came to a thick trace, most of the lumps came out and then I poured it into the mold, and banged it on the counter a few times to get the air bubbles out......I've had a big bottle of this FO a while, the scent isn't as strong as it used to be, so it's a nice light scented soap.
  17. Those are going to be thick bars!!! NICELY DONE! I've never smelled that FO before, bet it's yummy!
  18. I've made this soap many times......it's a great smelling FO but it always gives me trouble. It chunks up like curdled milk, and I always have to blend the chunks out with the blender....Definately not a swirling kind of soap! I like to make the tops look like ocean waves........lol.
  19. Looks like it's going to be a great soap!!
  20. I would honestly say instead of wasting your money on shipping, to just get some from your local health food store, or even large grocery store chain should have some in their natural food refridgerated section.
  21. So adorable..........the stickers are very cute!!! So do you give these out with the purchase of 2 soaps to your customers, or is this something they pay for seperately?
  22. I think it looks great, ground coffee is a good idea!!! Good thinking (the previous post) I have worked with 100% goat milk and I find that it always discolors the soap dark brown.....am I the only one??
  23. They look great....I slam the mold on the counter a few times to get the air bubbles out. Always a good idea!
