  1. I usually wait between 24-48 hours before I test burn candles. But, I am not a very patient person and can't wait to see how they burn and smell!
  2. Try using 6% FO per pound (1 oz) and see how that works. 2 ozs. for one pound of wax sounds a bit extreme. They say less is better. You could always try it and see how it works. Or, maybe your FO just won't work with this wax and you could try something different.
  3. You could always use a small hangtag and a warning label on the bottom.
  4. The liquid dyes from BCN work great in soy, too. I purchased some Shades of Red Berry and got deep colors with this. I believe I used only about 10 drops per pound, but I also used a bit of liquid black to really darken it. They also have the Shades of Scarlet that will probably give you the deep red you are looking for. You can find it in their closeout section at only $4.95 for two ounces.
  5. I saw this on eBay, too. If it's yellow, it could possibly be nothing more than beeswax. Wouldn't hurt to ask, but I doubt she would tell anyone exactly what is in it. JMO, why would anyone give out their secret formula for candle making to anyone?
  6. I was the one who purchased the oil with the dark floaties in it and did receive an email from Becky stating it was indeed cocoa floating around in it. She offered to exchange it with another bottle of the same kind or a completely different oil. Becky has been more than helpful to me in this matter. I believe her customer service to be excellent as well as the quality of her oils. The only reason I did not hear from her right away was my email ended up in her spam folder by mistake. Once she realized what was going on, she emailed me right away with the answer I was looking for.
  7. I recently purchased some Apple Torta - Tutti Dolci from JS. The description reads: A Cafe Italiano exclusive BBW scent. You will not be able to pass up the irresistible allure of Apple Torta; a rich blend of baked apple mingled with toffee, cinnamon and nutmeg, layered on top of rich brown sugar. I poured and test burned some container candles in this fragrance and all I can smell are the spices in it. I do not detect an apple smell at all. Has anyone else tried this scent yet? If so, what are your opinions?
  8. If you are using a 4" jar, you will probably need to double wick this in order to get a full melt pool. If you need some ideas on double wicking, just do a search on the forum and I'm sure you will get some great info on how to do this.
  9. On their site, it states: Current average order processing time: 1-2 days If you add maybe 3-5 days shipping time, it would take about a week for delivery if shipping by UPS.
  10. I love ICS cinnamon bun, too! It is yummy!
  11. ICS makes a great Chocolate Kisses fragrance oil! It is very yummy!
  12. Sell it through the classifieds! I'm sure there will be others willing to take it off your hands.
  13. When I posted this thread, I guess I should have made it more clear on what I really needed. Sorry for the confusion. I did try the blueberry dye chips but I think the blue isn't quite what I was expecting. Maybe I'll try something different the next time.
  14. Rosebuds by Just by Nature is great! My daughter just loves this scent!
  15. This is not a joke! I know they are blue, but needed to know what color blue I should make them. After I posted this, I realized I had some blueberry dye chips that hopefully made the color I was looking for. All I need to do now, is to wait and see what they look like after the wax cools.
  16. I recently purchased an FO from ICS called Blue Raspbery Icee. What I need are some suggestions on what color to use. :undecided Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  17. I didn't actually heat the oil out of the bottle, but warmed it by double boiler method while it was still in the bottle. Maybe I should pour some into a cup and warm it in the microwave a few seconds at a time. I don't want to heat it too fast for fear of it catching fire. I guess I'll do a little experimenting and see what I come up with.
  18. I didn't receive an email from Becky, but did get a pm from another member on this board. He contacted her and gave a description of the floaties in the oil. Her response was that it was cocoa floating in the oil and it would not harm anything by using it the way it is. I still don't know if I want to use it like it is or try to strain out the floaties before I pour it into wax. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated!
  19. I've heard others say some of their oils crystallize, but usually in the winter months when it's very cold. If those were crystals, why didn't they disappear after I warmed the oil? This is very confusing to me!
  20. I got a sample of this with my last order, and oob it smells wonderful! Can't wait to try it in wax!
  21. You know, that could be a possibility since it's supposed to have chocolate in it. I just haven't seen anything like it before. Maybe I shouldn't be too concerned after all. Thanks!
  22. I just love them! Very unique! Looks good enough to eat!
  23. Depending on the diameter of it, I guess I would try a straight sided votive cup and go from there.
  24. I haven't been able to single wick a 4" pillar, either. Every wick I've tried leaves a 1 to 1.5" shell. I am about to give up on this and stick to the 3" pillars. They are much easier to wick.
  25. I have shaken it, warmed it, shaken it a dozen times and it still has floaties! Never had this problem with any other oils, just this one. Don't know what else to do except to strain it or use the way it is. Maybe if I dyed the wax a darker color, it won't show up as bad.
