  1. What a very unique idea! I absolutely love the way you have this displayed!
  2. Your candles are fabulous! You must have a lot of patience to create something as beautiful as those. I am going to venture into something like that only I'm going to try making a forever palm and see what I come up with. Keep up the good work. Hope to see some more of them in the future!
  3. You can find them at Factory Direct Craft Supply: http://factorydirectcraft.com/ Just do a search for enamelware and you should be able to find them with or without lids.
  4. Here is the link for some 4 x 4 x 4 boxes at Sunshine: http://www.tealightboxes.com/Pillar_Candle_Box_PJ_444_25_pack_p/pj-444%20-%2025%20pack.htm They are only .19 each packed 25 to a case which I think is a great price. Although, they are not the clear ones, but will work pretty good for what you need. Hope this helps!
  5. Hi! I am looking for a good Yankee dupe of the fragrance: Red Apple Wreath. I love this scent, but am unable to locate this fragrance. If anyone knows who might be selling this, I sure would love to get some! Thanks!
  6. Thanks for the help, Satin. I just got my husband to hammer the crap out of it and broke it into smaller pieces. He's got more strength than I do!
  7. Hi all! It's been quite awhile since I posted here, but I do visit quite often. My question concerns IGI 4761. I just recently purchased some in slab form, but am having a very hard time cutting it and was wondering how some of you do it. I just seem to be making a huge mess with it and could really use some help. Thanks!
  8. Beautiful display and very well organized! You did a great job!
  9. I have sold a lot of items on eBay and never required anyone to purchase insurance to get their product. I give them the option to purchase or not purchase it; that is totally up to the buyer. If he wanted you to have it, he should have insurance required stated in the auction. I've never had any problems delivering my items to my buyers nor have any come up missing since I started selling on eBay. Since I use PayPal for eBay payments, I always print my labels online with delivery confirmation, which is included free of charge. I check on the dc once in a while to see if the package has arrived. Depending on how far it has to go, it usually arrives in 2-3 days at the most when I send by Priority. If the dc doesn't show within that time frame, I contact the buyer to see if it has arrived or not. Sometimes the postal workers don't scan the packages and it will not show up as delivered. If he doesn't deliver or send your package, file a complaint with eBay for item not received. If you paid through PayPal, they may require you to file a complaint with them first. Either way, you should be able to get all of your money back. Good luck and hope everything turns out all right for you!
  10. I've received emails from a couple of people wanting to know how to make candles. I give them the link to Candletech and tell them they can get a wealth of information about the different kinds of candles they can make. End of story!
  11. Your pillar wax will shrink and pull away from the jar. It will leave the candle rattling around in the container and could possibly fall out. Not a good idea!
  12. My favorite tester is my daughter. She burns candles all the time and really enjoys getting freebies from me. She gives me her honest opinions about the fragrance throw and how well it burns. Couldn't ask for anyone better!
  13. These jars are pretty wide, so you will probably want to double wick them. I don't think a single wick will work with these.
  14. I have 3 of the presto pots with the spigots. They do have a temperature control on them, but you will want to use a thermometer to watch the temperature of the wax while it is melting. I use a regular candy thermometer that I bought at our local grocery store.
  15. I use an LX20 in an 8 oz jelly jar, and it seems to work just fine for me. I found I like the LX series wicks in all my containers. They don't bend or curl like the others.
  16. I always thoroughly wash and dry my containers and then wick them with the wick stickums. Never had one come loose in all the candles I've made. It's like some of the others have said: most jars come with a slight film in the inside and by washing them first, you should have no problems with the wicks coming loose. JMO
  17. I purchased some from this lady and they are great! A wonderful person to do business with, the shipping costs are super low, and she ships very fast. I also purchase some of my wicks from her. You can't go wrong!
  18. That is one ugly candle! Makes you feel proud of the ones you make yourself! I have purchased jar candles before just to see how they burn, and I was totally unstatisfied with them. The candle smelled good, but tunnelled very bad. Thank you for sharing this with us!
  19. I would definitely not use anything other than an eo or fo when making scented critters. If it has an alcohol base, it could be a potential fire hazard. You should stick with fragrance oils you would normally use in candles.
  20. I find the fo's throw better in parasoy than in regular soy wax. Even after 24 hours of curing time, they smell great! There are still some fo's like vanilla or light florals that need a longer curing time regardless of the wax used.
  21. The Candle Source is another good seller. They have quite a good selection and the oils are fantastic! Great prices and fast shipping, too!
  22. I just love JS Strawberry Jam! It smells great oob and in wax. I tried another brand, but it just doesn't compare to hers.
