  1. Does anyone have a good recommendation as to where I can purchase fruit embeds for my candles. thanks for the help!
  2. cathy what size mold is that? I love the shape, they are really beautiful, you've convisced me to try them! Also can you tell me where you get you palm wax and molds from? Thanks
  3. I purchased a plastic storage chest with drawers. It is the same thing as those white plastic drawer things that people use on their table tops for different storage. This is much larger than those, it is the size of a small chest of drawers, it has wheels which I took off as they kept falling off anyway, the chest is about waste high, the top measures about 21 wide x 15 deep. I cover it with a nice country looking table cover leaving the back open so I have easy access to the drawers. In the top drawer is my cash box and pens, whatever I use all day and need quick, easy access to. In another drawer are my bags and tissue wrap and in the bottom drawer I keep all my "hardware" type items such as duct tape, bungee cords, extension cords, tie wraps, anything that I may need and do not want to be without. I can not live with out that chest, it is the best thing I have ever thought of. I am currently making a more fitted cover for it and an organizer that will hang on the side to hold my bags and wrap. I do find that when I have more than 1 person checking people out, having to open the drawers for bags is a pain.
  4. I have an AC Moore right up the street from me, I must have missed them the last time I was in there. I'll let you know if I can't find them...Thanks!
  5. Where did you get those container? I make bread candles and can always find containers for fall and winter but never anything like that! PS those arrangement are adorable...nice work!:highfive:
  6. ok another person who makes great rustic pillars! I can't stand it! Apparently I am rustic pillar challenged! Can someone help me out. I am using 1343 I have poured at 160 and they came out smooth, not rustic at all. I poured at 135 and they have only little patches of that rustic film look. Before I pour the wax into the mold I spray with a little mold release and then pour a little bit in fast so it splashes on the sides of the mold (like my directions say) I then pour the remainer of the wax in and when I unmold them, nothing, they look plain and patchy. HELP!
  7. Those look fabulous! I have been trying to make rustic layered pillars like that and mine do not look like your! Can you help me out?
  8. I didn't think off taking pics before I remelted the candles. I am not using steric because I wanted to keep any mottled effect I may get from the 1343, won't the steric take that away?
  9. I want to increase my line of pillar candles. Currenly the only molds I have for pillars are 3 1/2 x 5 can some one who sells alot of pillar give my advice on what size and shapes are the most popular? I am going tos tart purchasing more molds but can only buy a few at a time. Thanks!
  10. I have a couple of problems here. First I attempted to make rustic multi colored pillars. I poured the first color and leaned the mold on its side,I waited until it set up and poured another color. I poured using 1343 and the instructions I was using said to pour at about 135 degrees. Well, a couple of things happened when I took them out of their molds. First the bottom layer came off completely so I am guessing I poured the second layer too cold? Then, the "rustic" blemishes are almost like big bubbles, where if you push on them or rub them lightly, they flake off. Also, some of the rustic marks are running length wise, they look more like seam marks or something.
  11. Yes, I was wondering the same thing...is that a tea light in the middle? Also how do you get your hole in the pillar to hold the tea light?
  12. I tried the clamshell ones and the ones made in the little cups. I wrapped mine 4 to a bag and yes they do get bupped up and start to looked old that's why I went to the clamshells. However, I have not had good luck selling my tarts. I don't know if they are not really popular in my area or what. My tarts smell great! and I price them very resonably but still not much luch sellin gthem. How does everyone else do with tarts?
  13. Anyone have any other ideas as to where I can purchase glass jars for my candles. I ahve purchased from the jar store in the past but I do not see any really country looking jars on their site. Any ideas are always appreciated!
