  1. Love the colors and swirls. I get tired of swirling the same old way. LOL Thanks for the inspiration.
  2. Those are beautiful. I love all the different designs and swirls, great variety.
  3. That's hot! I love the colors and the swirls are awesome.
  4. I don't really know. The site lists from Honda parts to HP soapmaking but doesn't give temperature ranges. The site says ABS plastic so I wouldn't think they could go in to an oven. Googling ABS says temperature up to 140. Maybe someone else would know. Sorry not much help.
  5. Beautiful soaps and I love your mold. Someday, sigh
  6. Your soaps are always so unique and beautiful. There are so many talented people on this board, I'm always looking. LOL
  7. Thanks everyone, my second try at HP and I like the double broiler, it seems to be creamier for me. These are scented Cool Water with ultramarines. I like not having to cut. They range from 6.5 to 7 oz. because I wasn't being consistant with filling them level. You could just fill them to desired height or maybe over fill and slice off top for smoothness before unmolding. I read that someone cuts them in half for 50 bars and packages them up in twos. Thanks for looking.
  8. Thank you and yes it has 25 cavities. Welcome, I see this is your first post.
  9. I just tried out this plastic mold with HP and love it. It is a little larger than my normal bar ( 3 3/4 x 2 3/4 x 1 1/2 ) but comes out smooth and the edges are rounded. The top of the soap is a little rough (normal HP) but that is fine for me as I don't sell. The one on the right in the last pic is the rough side. The mold came from http://www.shape-master.com/
  10. Welcome!! Pleasure to meet you. There is so much information here.
  11. Beautiful dog. Great tribute and sending hugs
  12. I love the colors and the way you swirled that. Always such beautiful soaps.
  13. That is so different, very pretty. Thanks for inspiring us with your pictures, and being so kind in sharing and helping.
  14. Great looking soap and welcome to your new addiction. I love making candles but somehow slipped over here to the other side and love it even more. Isn't it exciting?
  15. First times are always exciting. LOL It's beautiful. You should see my ugly soap, it is still a thrill for me though.
  16. LOL It was fine when I put colors in the pot but turned thick before I could even swirl it. I could barely pour it and a pretty swirl on the top just wasn't to be, it was too thick. haha! In case anyone else does this, this thread might help. The soap feels great though, nice and creamy. Thanks for all the support. Math lesson learned. Billie
  17. Here is my heavily discounted mistake, it turned out blue instead of turquoise.
  18. Other than the top not being smooth, I tried to make it look like icing. The slab feels pretty smooth and it feels creamy when lathering. I think I will cut into bars and if it doesn't turn dry and crumbly I will go ahead and use it. I'm not selling, this is just for myself and family. Thanks Billie
  19. I made myself a note so I wouldn't do this again. :rolleyes2 Billie
  20. It accelerated really fast. LOL It lathers nicely, it was a lard based soap. I just did this last night. I think I will rebatch it. It was a pretty peach and turquoise color in Hummingbird. Thank you
  21. The lye amount was right for the fats, I shorted it by 12 ounces of water. Thanks for helping
  22. I made a 5 lb. batch of soap and accidentaly shorted it by 12 ounces of water. I was trying to use a master batch of lye water 50/50 and didn't do the math right. I don't know how to figure out the percentages to see if this is to lye heavy, if so could I rebatch and add the missing water. Sorry new at soaping Thanks, Billie
  23. Those are my favorites too. I love the squeeze bottles for swirls and my fun foam liners. Billie
  24. Just hanging around to see if any one knows. I wouldn't mind knowing too. If it wasn't such a large quantity I would just try it and see. KWIM? Wonder if you would just use the Crisco in soapcalc. I know someone that uses meat veggie shortening and enters it as crisco. I'm new at soaping so just ignore my rambling thoughts. :rolleyes2
