  1. Lol sounds like my sister. I started making candles in march she says I should be selling them already. I don't feel at all like I'm ready for that at all. So this is a good question.
  2. Maybe autumn flannel, or woolen blanket, and vanilla and chestnuts..those smell good and just like fall
  3. Cranberry woods from candle science smells really good, its a little cranberry a little woodsy pine
  4. I wrap towles around my candles and cover with a box, so the other day i made 4 candles, but one i unwrapped and took out from under the box( like 8 hours later) cause i wanted my husband to smell it. I wrapped it back up and put it back. Well come to find out that the one i took out is the only 1 out of the 4 that had bad glass adhesion, so i guess i need to set it and forget it for a whole day or more .
  5. I'm realizing that when i use to buy candles I would just pick them up and smell them, that i would never look around the jar to see those problems. So i do have to learn to let it go and just do my best.. This website is extremely helpful and encouraging ❤
  6. Your experiment was a good idea . It shows people probably do care about the scent more than anything .. hopefully there are a lot of people like that lol. Wet spots are a thorn in my side to , especially when you make a couple of candles and 1 is perfect and 1 is not, its like uhgggg why? Lol
  7. That is very good advise. I will tell myself this when I start getting flustered.. I have wanted to give up on candles a few times , but I will not allow it ..and having good advise is motivating THANKS...
  8. Ok good, because I'm driving myself crazy ..Its all i think about, is perfecting these candles, and I know those 2 things are hard to perfect...its sometimes a little overwhelming .. Thanks..
  9. Hi.. Just wondering what do you do with the candles that have bad glass adhesion or just a little and frosting. Do you still sell them, or at a discount, or just give them away and loose money? Thanks
  10. Maybe try BUTTERBRICKLE from Just Scents..I haven't tried it yet, but it is on my list.. sounds like it would be buttery
  11. I wonder what their other items they are selling (if any) look like
  12. Thanks, . To bad big candles don't cool as quickly that would be a time saver lol .
  13. Hi everyone, just wondering if you need to heat soy 464 to 185 if your making unscented tea lights. Would it be ok to pour it after it just melts to liquid.. Thanks
  14. I haven't made clam shells yet ,because I am only using soy 464 , from what I have read its not good to use 464 because its to soft. I made little melts in mini paper nut cups and when I took them out they were firm and not mushy or soft , maybe just a little slick but no biggie , So is it ok to use 464 for melts . Thanks
  15. Thanks for that info , I didn't think of that. I am new to this 5 months in. So for 1 pound of 464 and i would like to use 8% fo how much coconut oil should i use ..I have seen anywhere from a 1/2 teaspoon per pound to 3 tablespoons...Thanks
  16. Hi ...I am also fighting the frosting ..right now I'm testing adding some coconut oil to the soy wax , I read that it is suppose to help ..but being home with kids this summer , I haven't had time yet ..hope it works
  17. Super cute...Did you use a beachy scent?
  18. Try cd 18 wick ...might mushroom but gives a full melt pool...when my start mushrooming i just trim it with scissors while its burning , the piece i trim off stays on top of the scissors and just drop it in the sink ...I am a newbie ..so i hope this helps
  19. Ok THANKS ..for the help ..I think there very festive..I might try making some
  20. Hi...So I keep thinking about the pinecone firestarters I'm seeing with a scented wax coating , and I have to wonder about the flash points in fo's. Does this matter? Thanks
  21. Lol i actually got pumpkin souffle from flaming candle and i thought it was kind of to sweet or fake idk but didn't care for it to much , I use soy wax 464 and used 1oz per lb of wax ....going to try different pumpkin scent
  22. I'm still having some trouble with this issue to . I have learned and i think I read it on here, to pour your wax down the wick that has helped to a point. My tops will come out so smooth on top but after I burn them there usually is a hole after it hardens again. I also put them on a wire rack , wrap a lite little thin towel around them and put fat popsicle sticks on the top ...but still working on these methods . I have only been making candles since march.. it also has helped with glass adhesion to ..And fo's with a lot of vanillin in them seem to give me a hard time..
  23. This scent is one of my favorites from CS ...it smells so fresh.
  24. Thanks.. that's easy enough ..
