  1. All I've done this weekend is 2 dozen Creamsicle Soapsicles for party favors for my granddaughter. Everything else is on hold until after our Disney trip in 2 weeks.
  2. That's a GREAT idea! I'm making mine for party favors. I made them a light orange and they're scented like Creamsicles.
  3. ...you have a PM~!
  4. It's in the Gallery, Jeff, which is a members only portion of the board. If you are a member, the title of the thread is: 'More Swirlies In My New Mold!' and it's gotten rave reviews!
  5. Jeff...what are the dimensions of this particular mold you pictured? I just saw pictures of your 12 bar mold full of soap posted at the Dish...awesome!
  6. so cute! and so funny! I made soapsicles last night! Clear Green (lime & spearmint) and opaque orange (creamsicle)
  7. There was only one reply at the Fragrance Review board that said that FO was speedy, and she used a hefty water discount. The other posters said they had no problems with acceleration. Maybe try adding the FO to your oils first, stickblend, then proceed with your lye solution. It seems to work for me, however I DO have some FOs that are a bit speedy...these I hand stir to trace.
  8. I've heard nothing but good things about Rich's molds. Mine was custom made by the husband of a friend. While it was only the second one he made, it's a thing of beauty. This is the first batch I made in it. Don't know if Jeff makes plexis, but I just saw a picture of his divider mold in use at another forum, and boy...that thing looks FANTASTIC~!
  9. what temperatures did you use, if any? And what fragrance did you use? I usually do room temp, and I add my FO to my oils before my lye solution.
  10. I had and upright Plexi custom made. Sure, you can post the supplier link...
  11. that is really cool! and something that is re-usable on different containers to match decors. I think you could market the hell out of those...there is definitely a place for them out there...like the wine glass charms. very cool, indeed!
  12. 2 weeks from UPLAND, Grumpy?
  13. All the 'woulda, coulda, shouldas' in the world aren't going to change your mind, but..... a. you KNEW that it was over 2 lb. when you weighed it, even if it was only a fraction of an ounce...it was over. b. you probably weighed it before you added the label & tape to apply it, and that would have taken it over even more. c. you 'coulda' just put that whole puppy in a flat rate box right there at the PO and saved yourself the additional $1.60 without having to go back home. d. the clerk was just doing what he gets paid to do.
  14. I'm confused... why didn't you just pack it in a flat rate box to begin with?
  15. I love the look of that! Have you cut them yet?
  16. Beautiful array! I especially like the ones in the second picture!
  17. nothing at all wrong with the first ones...they make me smile! The second one...gorgeous!
  18. I'm sorry...I wasn't back and then the board was down. I used soap/lotion pump dispensers for mine. They work like a catalytic converter. And yes, there are many options for vessels, however, not only does it have to be heat resistant, but also something that is ok for liquids. In other words, if you are using any type of ceramic or pottery, it should be glazed on the inside and not be porous.
  19. That's fine. I don't even line mine. Put it in the freezer for a while, then take it out and when it is warming up, use a spice bottle or something similar to help it out.
  20. Some great information on this site explaining the different kinds of coconut oil. They also claim there is no such thing as EVCO, it's just VCO. Interesting reading though. http://www.tropicaltraditions.com/what_is_virgin_coconut_oil.htm
  21. You don't really need a 'mold', per se, to put the silvermoons in. The reason for the boxes is to keep the silicon from 'bowing' resulting in non-uniform bars. You could just build a wood frame to go around the 4 sides of the rubber mold. Or for that matter, you could use anything, books, bricks, etc. set up against the sides of the silicon. From what I have seen, the SILVERMOONS are a lot thicker than the Upland liners are, so the bowing shouldn't be all that much. Just keep in mind that you wouldn't be able to move it if you only use a frame or other objects to keep it in shape. With a box type set-up (4 sides and a bottom) you could move it after it's been poured in.
  22. So, are you disappointed with it, Deb? Maybe the 9-bar dividers would be closer to what you are looking for bar-size-wise?
  23. trish...you gonna shrink each one individually? That's a lot of work and you probably won't be selling them one at a time. I think you'll save yourself a lot of grief and aggravation packaging as sets of 3, 4 or 5. Just my opinion, of course.
