  1. Thanks Digit...I'm also pondering maybe using a bit of castor oil...I'm going to give it a try later if I feel better.
  2. Thanks Digit! I saw that AFTER I posted my question. should have searched first. I saw this question asked, but not answered...hopefully someone can pop in with the ratios? "What ratios do you use to pre-mix your colors? I have some glycerin, and some 2oz squeeze bottles. Should I put 1oz color in the bottle then add 1oz of glycerin? I'm very interested in a easier method, I didnt know you could do this! Certainly makes sense to me.:smiley2: "
  3. What is the general consensus on how to incorporate POP colors. Are they added directly to the soap, mixed with oils or glycerin? Mine arrived before I left for vacation and I'm jonesin' to try them out. Thanks!
  4. I tried shrink-wrapping, but I just can't get past the smell of the shrink-wrap. I use the stretchable wrap from Walmart (their brand)
  5. The 'nevermind' was an edit. After posting my answer, I saw that it wasn't necessary, as the picture I posted here for you yesterday was not necessary I suppose either.
  6. Well...6 qts. is 192 oz. 192 oz. is 12 lb. I've never made crock pot or HP soap, so I'm assuming you need room to mix and for the soap to rise and do it's thing. GRUMPY AND I WERE POSTING AT THE SAME TIME
  7. Ida and I must be using the same type pitcher. Here is an old pic of the half-gallon size...this has silk added so it looks a bit dark
  8. I use a 33% solution. Mine is stored in a gallon Sterlite pitcher. Some people use the large detergent dispensers with spigots.
  9. :laugh2:at Scented! That soap AND the mold look fantastic, Barb!
  10. I really thought I posted to this thread! Those are some of the most beautiful container candles I have ever seen!
  11. They are stunning! Kristy is right, I also like salt bars in my Tony's molds.
  12. Pretty smart idea, Barb! Those molds are wonderful! Very PROFESSIONAL. I'm sure you will be very happy.
  13. Love them! great color combo.
  14. I made a 100% EVOO batch for my granddaughter on April 11. I used a 45% lye solution and when it cooled off from gelling, it was almost too hard to cut with my cutter. While I know that Castiles need a nice long cure, I've been using an end of this batch at the kitchen sink...the later is creamy and abundant already, so I can only imagine how good it will be in another 4-6 months or so.
  15. There was a gal on other forums who used to use this mold exclusively, and I always loved getting her soaps in swaps, trades, etc. They were unique in their shape, sort of her 'signature'...she made them pretty chunky, and I just adored them!
  16. The Tealeaf & Grapefruit is very fresh and I have people asking for more. It IS very grapefruitty, but I can defiitely smell the tea.
  17. Any chance you might send me a sniffy of Peaks? I'll pay postage!
  18. The absolute BEST Med Fig was from Cindy Fischer, and I don't have a clue as to where she is these days.
  19. That's some of the prettiest soap I've ever seen, Z~!
  20. I've never used CF's Pomace so I can't compare. A couple years ago, a new store opened in my area and they had 100% pomace for $5 a GALLON! Yup 128 oz! I stocked up then with about 30 or so gallons. I've since switched to EVOO that I also got a great deal on and my 'basic' recipe has changed since those days also. I never had much discoloration or noticed any fast trace with the pomace I used, but I do know that other people have had different results.
  21. I'll 4th it! I use it for all my baby shower favors and it's always a hit.
  22. I've used various brands/colors of pomace with good results, and really not much discoloration if any. The one thing you really have to make sure is that it is indeed 100% pomace and not a blend. Read the labels (not just on the front) very carefully.
