  1. Is it cut yet? I keep coming back to check and look at that mold and the gorgeous textures again!
  2. I use alcohol on some that don't shine by themselves, but I just spritz and let air dry. No buffing.
  3. Wow! they sure are pretty...AND that price includes packaging??? Amazing! Each candle comes complete in a "Aqua Blue" box nestled with matching aqua sparkle tissue paper completed with a beautiful double satin white ribbon bow.
  4. That soap leaves me......Breathless!
  5. My wax pellets are stored in my 50 lb. empty oil buckets. They stack and they are great.
  6. I really need to get some of these POP colors after seeing everyone's soaps.
  7. We learn by our mistakes and asking questions. I have more than a few batches under my belt, and there are always new things to learn. No one's method is the right way, the wrong way or the ONLY way. I'm sure your soap will be fine, and as Meredith said, it will be a nice conditioning bar.
  8. very nice...love the color combo. looks like you haven't lost your touch!
  9. That is a fine looking mold! And your soap is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!
  10. It's not going to be a 'bad' soap, it's just going to be softer than if you had used real pomace or OO. You should get a pretty stable lather after cure. Give it a chance...put it away for a while after it's unmolded and go back to it in a month or so...you may be pleasantly surprised.
  11. What was your recipe? You should be ok as far as the lye goes, but how much of it did you use in your recipe? Soybean is good in soap, but it may be softer or take a bit more time to harden up.
  12. she did a wonderful job...she did you proud!
  13. They are just beautiful, and Cotton Blossom is my favorite summer fragrance!
  14. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read the fine print on the can/bottle to make sure it 100% olive pomace and not a blend, even if it says 'pomace' on the front. That could REALLY screw you up good!
  15. Here's a site with some recipes almost like yours! http://farmgal.tripod.com/lyesoapconcoctions.html
  16. Are you using bacon grease? That's quite a large recipe. Why not use lard instead, amd just plug in the amount you want to use in a lye calc like SOAPMAKER. Just to answer your question, if you made that size recipe using lard with no superfat, you would need 104 oz. lard 14.35 oz. lye 33.44 oz. water
  17. Thanks everyone. I really don't remember where the mold was purchased as it is not a new acquisition. I haven't used it in a couple years though since I mainly do CP now. When they are set, I put them in the freezer for 30-45 minutes. Then I put them in the sink with the stopper in and run hot water until it gets to the top of the mold. This releases them gradually and they pull right out.
  18. These turned out pretty good...and they smell yummy!
  19. Beautiful...all of them. The Limewood does sound wonderful!
  20. It's just gorgeous...can't wait to see it cut.
  21. You can use it as soon as it's out of the mold. It's like HP. Of course, older soap is always better and lasts longer. Make sure you don't add too much liquid, if any, or it will warp as it dries out.
