  1. My word...that looks good enough to eat!
  2. yum...looks like a winner from here!
  3. I also used 1 tsp PPO and stick blended into my oils before my lye solution. Here is mine http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69120&highlight=black
  4. I used a micro-plane to grate the amber resin into the olive oil then gently warmed it and poured it into a mason jar until I was ready to use it as part of my recipe. I used maybe an ounce of resin to 16 oz. Olive oil, but I didn't use the whole 16 oz of infused oil in my soap.
  5. Oh noooooo!!!! I think they looked great...like a Pumpkin Frappacino! My JS order arrived yesterday and my son-in-law is bringing it up to me when he comes up tonite! I just may be soaping tomorrow or Sunday...
  6. Beautiful! And your Dad did a wonderful job on the cutter...kudos to him also!
  7. I can't wait to see how it is when you cut it! The TD settles and gets clumpy when it's in the fridge, so just by warming it a little bit, the water gets warmer and it shakes right up. I do like CBE, add it right to my oils if it's a whole batch (which is not that often) and to my emulsifed soap if doing a swirl or layers with the TD.
  8. Oh no...that was a crappy first experience for you...I'm sorry. My first question would be...Libby's Filling, was it just plain pureed pumpkin or was it the pie filling that has spices and stuff added? You want just pumpkin...nothing else. I stickblend into my oils before adding the lye solution and never run into any separation problems doing it that way. The TD...I mix my TD with a bit of water in a small plastic squirt bottle and keep it in the fridge. I don't use TD very often, but when I do, I just take the lid off the bottle, pop it in the microwave for about 10 seconds, shake it up and squirt in as much as I need. A dear soaper friend taught me that trick and it works like a charm.
  9. Love it...I think it's prettier than camo! With that fragrance...I'd call it 'My Guy'
  10. Bumping this up to see what you thought about the amber resin soap. I DID notice that mine are not shiny like my other soaps are using the same recipe, only with the Olive Oil being infused with the resin. Your thoughts?
  11. Oh my...this is just TERRIBLE~! I placed my first order with Just Scent yesterday morning...and by 5PM I had a UPS shipping notice. Customer service like this can be addicting. and even worse...what if the FO's are wonderful?
  12. that sounds luscious. I have some Karma...maybe I'll try adding some. I also have a bunch of amber resin sitting around waiting to be used. I only ordered 4 oz of the pump-patch. can't wait to see yours and get your feedback on the scent.
  13. ah man, you're all a bunch of %$#*& enablers! I went from a 1 oz sample of one fragrance to 5 lb of fragrances THAT I DON'T NEED. Geez.
  14. Hi Jo, glad you found success with MP salt bars. I did not have the same experience. I have been making them CP now since early 2005. I use 75-80% salt to oils ratio in mine. I found that equal amount of salt to oils was not producing a nice bar. They contain a large percentage of coconut oil, but the salt does cut down the bubbles, but the lather is dense and creamy, more like a lotion. I don't know what kind of MP you are using and it's difficult to know how much CO it contains. After the first use, the bars do get shiny and smooth like glass. I think the biggest misconception is that they should be exfoliating...they really aren't, but the salt does help to slough off any dead skin.
  15. Is that Just Scents? I've never ordered from them. Do they do sniffies or tester sizes? The Pumpkin Patch-ouli sounds WONDERFUL.
  16. I use them for salt bars and other specialty soaps. Once you figure out the right way to unmold them, they just roll out to you! LOL I had pictures around somewhere...a small tutorial on unmolding them...I'll see if I can figure out where I posted them. It was a while ago.
  17. They are the half-round cavity molds, right? I fill mine to the top and they are 5 oz. each so that would be 30 oz of raw soap for each mold. Not knowing whether you do a water discount or anything...play around with a soap calc to get the right amount for how many molds you want to fill. I always keep a couple single cavity molds out when I'm soaping just in case I have any over-pours. I LOVE my Tony's molds...for salt bars especially.
  18. that is really beautiful.
  19. That's exactly like I packaged mine! They sold really well.
  20. Just beautiful. Those TOny's molds are the best for salt bars! Love the color...did you use hydrated chromium green?
