  1. @Sarah S Wick series can make a difference too, some burn hotter and cooler than others.... And of course some waxes need more heat just to melt... Does this mean waxes with higher melt points need wicks which tend to burn hotter?
  2. Hello I have a question regarding candle curing. I used to make soap and let it cure because the water had to evaporate. But with candles what evaporates? And is it best to leave candles uncovered to aid in this process? Thanks
  3. Hello all. 😊I have some questions regarding wholesale for candle for any of you who have experience. I would much appreciate your opinions! For those who are home -based, do you all allow locals to pickup at your house or do you deliver personally? What type of boxes/packaging do you use for wholesale orders? How did you create your line sheet? If it PDF form or a link to a website or google spreadsheet? After a wholesale order is sent, do you followup as far as asking about product performance? Do you allow returns on items that aren't selling? Do you offer stores NET30 or other credit terms? If so, how to make sure you get paid? At which point did you feel your company was ready for wholesale? What capacity of space and equipment do you think one needs before wholesaling? Thanks in advance!!!!
  4. wooden sticks for stirring seems quite popular here. Is there a reason?
  5. Hello litup! I have some questions regarding wholesale... Do you all allow locals to pickup or do you deliver personally? Do you cold call/email stores or do have a representative to acquire wholesale accounts? What type of boxes/packaging do you use for wholesale orders? How did you create your line sheet? If it PDF form or a link to a website or google spreadsheet? After a wholesale order is sent, do you followup as far as asking about product performance? Do you allow returns on items that aren't selling? Do you offer stores NET30 or other credit terms? If so, how to make sure you get paid? Last questions...I promise...lol...at which point did you feel your company was ready for wholesale? What capacity of space and equipment do you think one needs before wholesaling? Thanks in advance!!!!
  6. Are we sure that a skin safe fragrance is safe in candles as far as heating and the fumes?
  7. I'm apart of a woman's group and we have health discussion regarding foods to avoid and soy consumption was said to cause hormone and fertility issues. So I was shocked to find that soy is such a big thing in the candle industry. I know consumers aren't eating the wax lol...but it's so strange to me how the message of soy candles is so pro-health, but as it relates to food the message is "steer clear"
  8. I got wetspots/pullaway when I used problen in clear jars but then again my jars were really cold. I'm going to test soon in warm jars
  9. Thank you all! I think the colorants at bittercreek would be more ideal. https://cart.candlesupply.com/Powdered-c-407.html I just was so excited to get some free stuff lol
  10. ^ I tested with eco wicks...3 tins each per wax
  11. I just tested the c3 and have been using problend 600. Let me look at my notes. What they have in common -- both give me relatively smooth tops. However the c3 gives me more dips near the wick. [I'm comparing these to the lumpy, crater and sinkhole nature of 464 and 444) Nothing major. c3 is a single pour wax if your ok with a slight dip. Problend is as flat and smooth as you can get with a single pour. Huge plus. I think c3 lasts a bit longer than the problend. Problend is soft and somewhat sticky and comes in small slabs, c3 comes in flakes so it's easier to deal with, less messy, in terms of handling and measuring wax. The c3 doesn't burn as clean as the problend. Problend has a consistently clean burn. C3 has personality issues...I dunno...throughout my burn test it kept changing dramatically. However c3 finished clean...odd. Problend is more stable, more predictable, more fool-proof...imo Note: I tested in small 4oz tins
  12. Hello I have an opportunity to get some soap colorant from a friend. I am wondering if this can be used in candles. It is Oxide Pigment Powder. Her supply is from WSP. Links for references. http://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/products/matte-americana-red-oxide-pigment-powder.aspx
  13. I enjoy problend 600 however it does get wetspots in clear glass. I really want to use clear glass and need a wax that can always look great in the glass. When I look at diptyque candles. the wax doesn't stick to the glass and easily comes out. I want something like that (not easily coming out, but no glass adhesion with possibility of wetspot). elite wax sounds promising.
  14. only tested 2 scents so far, amazing cold throw, decent hot throw...i will need more testing to really judge
  15. I love, love problend 600...always smooth tops, no need for repour. Just gotta work on my jar adhesion/wetspot issues IGI 6006 comes in second for me. Juts wish it had a tad bit more soy content. It does smell parafin-ish
  16. I wonder when the soy industry will start the smear campaign against coconut wax because its popularity is rising.
