  1. Testing Candlescience's Rhubarb and Fig and Brambleberry's Anjou Pear. Also made some testers of Fillmore's Lavender, Sage & Rosemary, WSP's Mahoghany Teakwood, and RE's Clementine Lavender. LOVING Rhubarb and Fig, but I've always had a thing for Rhubarb. Excited for Clementine Lavender to cure, but I smell mostly orange and little to no lavender. Has anyone had any success with these? Testing new scents is one of my favorite things!
  2. Yes, already! We have a few tried and true but are starting to test a few new ones for summer markets. I'm looking for a few--can you help me? Hawaiian Tropic Sunscreen Dupe (the fragrance oil finder used to list one, but that is no more) Pear scent Watermelon scent that isn't too sweet I also need a good name for CS Rhubarb and Fig--something fun! Thanks in advance. I am definitely thinking WARM weather, as it's been well below zero here in Michigan all week with 27 inches of snow last week, as well!
  3. Life is good right now w/ 464 for me, but I do wonder about trying a bit of c3, just to compare. People who have tried both, does the c3 give a better, firmer looking top? In general, is it a firmer wax? I don't love the "cottage cheese" tops after burning that 464 gives. Any difference in hot or cold throw
  4. Does anyone have one? SOS has a few fo w/ these notes, but they got absolutely terrible reviews. I'd love to make an "old books/library" candle. Any ideas for blends on this one? Thanks so much!

  6. Any idea when this will be back in stock? We sold out of it today at our Farmer's Market and have many more coming up. Crazy good Fragrance oil!
  7. Jars worked out perfectly, and I'm kind of in love with the fragrances I ordered. DANG! Another FO supplier! So much for "limiting" them to 5. Got the famed Iced Lemon Biscotti, Amaretto Tiramisu (oh my deliciousness!), and Lavender, Rosemary, and Sage. All delightful--can't wait to get them in wax.
  8. Or Snow Wonder (sounds like "It's no wonder" said quickly!)
  9. Frosty's Gal/Girl/Sweetheart Sweet Snowman/Snowfall Snow Much Love/Fun/Joy Parson Brown Snow in the Meadow Wonderland of Snow
  10. You are all awesome. Fillmore for the win!!!!!! While I'll be ordering from there, anyone have any good fo suggestions from there?
  11. Sadly, the CS lid doesn't fit. Looked at The Cary Co. Also pretty pricey per jar, but I could possible drive there (family in that area) and save on shipping. Thinking Fillmore has an option that's pretty close, too.
  12. Thanks everyone. Your advice has been stellar and so helpful. We just got our 2nd wholesale order! We can hardly keep up--what a great "problem" to have! Time will tell if our wholesale prices were enough for us to make a decent profit, I guess.
  13. Thanks Moonshine. Sadly, the price on these would raise our cost per candle a ton (they are almost double the cost of the Aztec jar) and it doesn't have the lid. But it's an option, I guess.
  14. Hi all! So in the last week we got 3 HUGE orders (2 new wholesale accounts, 1 for a corporate party)! GREAT NEWS! Our stock is nearly depleted and we're making candles like crazy. Just went onto Aztec to order more jars (8 oz straight-sided flint jar) and they are out of stock until 2018, and looking for a new supplier for this jar. HELP! I would hate to have to re-test--switch jars--we won't have time to do that and fill our orders. The reasons we love the Aztec jars are the low price, the continuous thread lid lines, and the matching lid (has a much nicer look than a lug/jelly jar lid). Can anyone help me find a similar jar and similar lid? I have our jar pictured below.
  15. My wick stickers are not sticking! I use the wick centering tool (great gadget, btw) but when I add a wick centerer they come right out. I usually get them from Aztec, I think, but often get them from wherever I"m ordering. Anyone else have this issue?
  16. Thanks everyone for the great advice. I did raise our wholesale price a bit (2.5x my cost) and landed my first wholesale account! Super excited--so many candles to make, so much more to learn!
  17. My nephew is a graphic designer who I hired to design the label and my hubby prints them on his very expensive printer he uses for his job. If he ever needs to sell that printer, I'll likely use a printer. But we do pay a fair amount for the ink cartridges. '
  18. I've seen that Indigo, RE, FB, Wellington, and Essentials by Catalina all have them. Has anyone tried any of these? Looking for a BBW/Slatkin dupe. BBW describes it as apple, cinnamon, and cedarwood.
  19. TallTayl, are you willing to share what you blend it with? I'm on attempt 8 and I still can't get the Almond Cybilla from Brambleberry to throw (I've blended it w/ so many things!). If not, I understand completely.
  20. So I tried an ECO 12. Flame was huge, melt pool was a good size, but there was little to no hot throw! Dang it! I am thinking I"ll try reducing FO to 6% and maybe start w/ an ECO 8 or ECO 10? What do you all think about that plan?
  21. OOH, First Snow does sound intriguing. I ended up making testers of Rustic Escentuals Sparkling Snowflakes--it's a bit of fruit w/ a mint base and no "tree" scent. But still loving these ideas!
  22. Yes, from The Flaming Candle. I think I will lower percentage to 6%, but still not sure where to start again, wick-wise.
  23. I put it in the batches that I sell. I also use 464 and don't color. Older candles I have at home have yellowed w/o the UV, and I don't want anything I sell to yellow.
  24. Does anyone have reports on Indigo Fragrance? There isn't much mention of it when I searched. I am looking for dupes of BBW's Black Cherry Merlot and 'Tis the Season, and Indigo had both. Looking at a few other oils from here, as well. I'd love to hear your experiences w/ Indigo.
