  1. I'm a big fan of their Earl Grey and Apple and also their 'Tis the Season Dupe. But you know I'll be adding to my sample FOs with that sale!
  2. Adding a new Christmas scent to our line--it's a dupe of BBWs Tis the Season. It's described as apples, cinnamon, cloves, cider, cedarwood. Can you help me re-name this one? Thanks!
  3. Do you still have sniffies available, @TallTayl? Because I'd love some!
  4. I can't wait to try it! Been looking for a good lake fragrance for quite a while!
  5. Hi TallTayl, Do you still have any of your dupe scents available, or sniffies of them? I'm interested in Inlet Lake Grass, Tonic, and possibly Vetyver Cafe. Let me know (either here or in a PM). Thanks so much!
  6. I've looked into Inlet Lake Grass---does it smell anything like the fresh cut grass fragrances? We've already got a best seller from that scent. I'll check out TallTayl's dupes!
  7. Not a Cherry Lake fragrance, but separate scents, of course! Looking for a lake w/o salty notes and w/o musk or super masculine--any ideas? Also looking for a cherry that's not too candyish or sweet--maybe like a tart cherry (although a life savers cherry would work, too!) Thanks in advance, my fragrance finding friends!
  8. Kat, your situation sounds a lot like mine. Third time we've been hacked from Aztec. No one there will take any responsibility for it at all--claimed the problem was malware (it was not at all) and were downright rude in handling ripped off customers. It took nearly 4 months for all charges to be reversed and more phone calls then I can count with each vendor they charged to--over a thousand dollars from our debit account. And yes--all of my charges seemed to be for women's items, clothes, purses, and shoes. If it's not their website they have a crooked employee sending our info to Asia. I got an email address for some software they ordered and it looked to be from an Asian country. Maddening and unbelievable that this is still going on. My last hack was in March. How they are still in business is beyond me with the multiple hacks and the terrible way the responded.
  9. @TallTayl, do you just use regular table salt? Does the scent actually throw that way? I've never tried this method before and want to for a few blends. I've tried the cotton swabs in the baggie method w/ little success.
  10. So we had an exciting night...we did an open air market at a little upscale boutique. At the end of the night, they asked to stock our candles! The shop owner has a favorite lotion made of peonies and white lillies (It was called Lollia Breathe). She was hoping to do a private label candle of that scent. We are not "floral" candlemakers at all, so we aren't too sure where to begin. Does anyone have any good peony or white lily scents you could recommend? Thanks everyone. I've been getting so much great info/advice from these boards, as always.
  11. Sarah, thanks so much! I'll give this a try. We do have Antique Sandalwood, and I was hacked by Aztec's website multiple times. I don't think I'll be ordering from them again. They handled things very poorly and had many rude comments to their customers.
  12. Sarah S, that sounds amazing! I have Clothespins, but I don't have Barnwood. I'd love to try that mix. Do you mind sharing your ratios?
  13. Can anyone recommend a good Hay scent? Looking for a fall scent that is not pumpkin, apple, or spices, as we've already got those. Thanks!
  14. Did well. I made almost exactly 10x my booth rent, which was good considering the weather was rainy and kind of cold. We also booked another show and got a potential wholesale account, so all in all it went swimmingly.
  15. Thanks, Sarah. I'm looking at Pumpkin Chai from The Flaming Candle, too. Sounds interesting!
  16. Who has the best versions of these popular scents? Starting to plan my Fall/Winter Lineup. I've seen many different descriptions for Christmas Splendor--don't want anything close to CS Christmas Hearth (our best seller). I use 464. TIA!
  17. I have been super impressed with Brambleberrry's FO I've tried, but I notice that most of the reviews are from soap or lotion makers. I'd love to hear from Candle-making folks about which BB scents you've tried and your opinions. My favs from there are Grass Stain and Hello Sweet Thang, but I've not tried too many others. These are the ones I'm looking at: Autumn Fig Harvest Blueberry Thyme Cactus Flower Champagne Cocoa Butter Cashmere Electric Lemonade Ginger Ale Jade Lemon Cake Orange Peel Cybilla Vanilla Oak Warm Flannel Let me know which ones of these you've tried, or which others have been successful for you in wax (I use 464). Thanks!
  18. So this weekend is the big event. We are bringing about 375 candles. Expected crowds are now estimated at 12-20,000 guests. We did the best we could to set up a booth with two separate "smelling stations." My goal is to make a minimum of $600, but that could be aiming too high. What is the most you've ever made at these types of things?
  19. I despise Velvet Sugar, but it sells well for us. My chandling partner hates Margarita, which also sells very well. So....we keep making them both!
  20. It's fantastic! Anyone else smelled this one?
  21. Does anyone have a good dupe for Woodwick's Oudwood fragrance. I've tried the Oudwood from RE but that was not even remotely close. Woodwick describes it as Oudwood, Amber, and vanilla. It's very mild and still woodsy. Has anyone smelled this?
  22. I have a tea scent that smells of nothing for the first three days, but by day five of a two week cure---POW! Most scents do need that cure time, depending on your wax. 464 needs 10 days to 2 weeks.
  23. True Rain from Save on Scents is a good petrichor, but we do have to blend it to soften it a bit. We are using it right now for our "lake" candle.
