I was ready to hit mine with the heat gun LOL I am giving them another day then I will decided if they are gonners, I have 2 shows this weekend, they may not be in the line up BLAH
  2. You can check with a local chemical company and buy from them, thats what I am doing and getting at $1 pp, I think we are buying 100 lbs and dividing it up from there Elle
  3. Patch stinks out of the bottle, but when used in the shower it does have a very sexy smell. It is the base of a LOT of perfumes, a great blender, I must say I don't like fragrance oils in Patchouli only essential oil. I sell a TON of it as well
  4. Sweetcakes, good sandalwood and van. sandalwood
  5. I put in 2 oz of powdered goat milk at trace in a 6 lb batch at trace then stick blend to incorperate, about 1 oz of honey, I think going off of memory on the honey and about a 1/4 Coats
  6. It looks very very good. Wow, a mall, you should do great! Good luck
  7. gorgeous, what will you sell them for? Are you going to sell 2 bars as a set?
  8. have you gotten any grainines yet from the shea butter? Can you let us knowi if you do? I know a lot of people have been posting there frustration with the grainy balms Thanks Elle
  9. I love, love, love the name, very unique, love "why" you came up with the name and I love the glow the door already has. I am into simplicity and I think the labels are very nice. If you notice commercial products are picking up on the simplicity thing, I think people like clean, no clutter and straight to the point. Well at least I do LOL GREAT JOB.......CAN'T WAIT TO SEE EVERTHING ON THE WEBSITE WHEN YOU CHANGE IT Oh ya, the candles look great as well Elle
  10. I just got the 1 oz glass w/smooth pump and cap for my baby massage oil and stress relief oil. I really like the blue 8oz bell as well, wouldn't look great for a baby lotion?
  11. I make mine with Peppermint, spearmint and tea tree and call it healing, it is awesome
  12. I have used some like that which I purchased from a large wholesale place here and it worked fine
  13. You CANNOT use the word Philosophy it will be yanked as soon as they find it, you have to say it smells like a very popular companies "grace" fragrance. I know it is frustrating, I was selling a ton of sprays, soaps, lotion bars and butters in that dupe but had to change everything and now I have shyed away from listing that fragrance bcz I don't want to go thru the hassle. Alot of my ebay customers are now switched to my website. You have to be very careful, I am telling you, Philosophy polices very heavily and they will report you to ebay right away. In addition to getting your auction yanked, you could be suspended permanently if you continue to violate. You can probably thank another ebayer for turning you in, they do it all the time to get rid of competition. HTH Elle
  14. I always spray my soaps with alcohol and do not notice anymore sweating from that but I do notice it mroe if i put in freezer bcz the glycerin is pulling the moisture from the environment. Its funny, the one thing that makes it such a great thing for your skin makes it a PITA to package etc. Elle
  15. ditto to mountainmadness I love room temp lye since i have started using it
  16. Sort of???? They look great. I love the 2nd one
  17. with Philosophy you can only put in your auction that it is "a similar fragrance to a very popular grace product, you cannot use the word philosophy or amazing in you description. I have been in long discussions with the man at philosophy who polices the auctions on ebay. They are one of the strictest. So in your title you have to come up with a totally different name as well. In no way can you use amazing grace, dupe of amazing grace, philosophy any of it. Becareful, because if you keep getting pulled off you will get suspended Elle
  18. Oh I hate when they do that. I have more problems with my lotion bars, I have several out as testers but low and behold someone has to rub the top of one for sale. Oh, it drives me crazy because then I pull it out of stock and now it becomes a sample. I also have the experience that whatever fragrance you use as samples is the one you will sell out of. Mine was Pink Sugar this weekend, I don't think I have a one left. I put the sticks in the shea butter and they do use it, but over the weekend I had not decided which fragrance was going to be my sample and some lady came up started opening them and stuck her finger right in, and then said "Oh, was this you sample?" I said, "it is now" Elle
  19. RUN........Now, if only I could buy her business and all of her contacts that would be awesome, she has some great prices but HORRIBLE service. She is not a business woman... PLEASSSSSSSSSE sell me your biz, Leah LOL
  20. This paticular show was $50 booth fee, but the main shows that I do are outdoor and around $225 a booth and I normally do around 11x or more. I also do one the weekend b4 thanksgiving which is a Friday nite and 7 hrs on Saturday that I almost do what I do at the outdoor shows and it is only $60 (it is a great show, some real serious shoppers just swarm on you). I have a harder time with my booth at an indoor show bcz of the booth size constraints and I cannot use my normal set-up so I have to improvise, which I hate doing. I think business is great so far this year, I was really worried with the gas prices etc but people are still buying, buying, buying. Yeah
  21. My 2 cents worth in regards of giving people OTHER scents you DO NOT have with is that it gives them an excuse not to buy it today. I have found that if I even hint that maybe they could check out my website for a different product or scent they take that as a pass to not buy when I could have given a little more time with them and gotten a purchase right then of something I do have withe me. I take over 33 fragrances of lotion bars and still get people wanting something else, I immediately start talking to them about other favs etc and 9 timse out of 10 get them to purchase something else Just a thought, people will buy what you have if they really want to buy. Some people are just professional shoppers (they shop for business cards and websites but never buy a darn thing) they just waste our time HTH Michelle
  22. My shea butter turns out different in consistency everytime I do it, sometimes I cannot get a lot of volume out of it and sometimes I can. I like it to be more like frosting but it does not always turn out like that to me. It bugs the heck out of me. Elle
  23. I used to use tins, but now jars and they are selling better for me. I have had two show recently that I sold almost all shea I took. Mine are 2 oz and sell for $10. I never hear a complaint on price, some people say they expected to pay more. They know that L'octtaine (spelling) etc will charge 3 x that for less HTH
  24. I had a great 2 day show over the weekend, I did 24 x over my booth fee, a little less than I like but it was the frst time doing this show so I'm happy. Normally, I like to to about 50-60 x over for a 2 day show. My lotion bars, salts, sheas and bath bombs and loofah scrub bars were the big hit, I only sold about $170 in soap. It seems that when I do the outside show I sell a lot more soap but the indoor shows less. MY other items are big sellers indoor or out. Anyone else have this experience? elle
  25. I do what you do at shows but when I ship out a package I always include a sample of product and scent they did not order. Sometimes it is a sliver off a end of soap or lotion, in the winter months it is shea butter most times. I almost always get a repeat sale from that. elle
