1. Your right Scented...Pumpkin is supposed to be one of the fragrances that "turns men on" How bout Pumpkin Spread
2. yep, but I think they only carry it during the cooler months at CF, you might want to check... Elle
3. Yes, I have ground it b4, because I do notice a difference in the coarser CA and finer, WSP has the coarser and I had to grind it, and the texture of the bomb is better
4. I think it smells like mildew, I could not even get FO to cover the smell ECK
5. I have added a lot of additives and butters, oils etc to my base, but I have to say WSPs bases always have an awesome lather for me even if I add nothing, I use their clear and goat milk. I still have a small group of clients who will not switch over to using CP soap, which aggrevates me bcz I don't want to keep buying those soap blocks! Can I say again, I really love the pink one:)
6. Oh, you just gave me an idea for my show, I always like to take something that will appeal to the kiddies, I might have to do something similar, I have everything it takes. I can't believe how good they look, they only ones I saw similar were in the clam shells. Awesome.
7. Well, you only use a smidget of spheres to get a beautiful color, my sampler last me forever and I make them by the 100s.
8. I love the pink stripe one, very different, and your swirls look great, M&P not hte easiest in the world to swirl but looks like you are going to be a master:)
9. Jojoba spheres work like a dream, I have not been happy with mica because I make actual bars instead of tubes and it can fall to one end of the bar and leave specks. The jojoba spheres melt right in and make the most gorgeous colors, I get mine from FNWL, I get the sampler, which has about 7 colors and you can mix them to get your desired color
10. Well, it is supposed to feel "lotiony" that is the beauty of it, acts like a lotion in the shower once the sugar is gone
11. Cotton seed...BAD, BAD, BAD, not good for you, should not even be considered a food product, loaded with pesticides I know you are asking about soap making but I am going to throw in my 2 cents worth on what "FAT" you should not eat, anything with "hydrogenated oils". Finding products in your regular grocery w/o is almost quite challenging but can be done OK, off the soap box, that is the only one I can think of off the top of my head that I would not use in soap. I don't use anything in B&B with mineral oil or petroleum either. Michelle
12. thanks for all the compliments, I just can't figure out where the purplish brown came from on the Cool Water:confused:
13. This is all good info, I think the biggest cost is shipping, my sample sizes are not that huge that they cost me a lot but shipping would be another issue. I will have to ponder on this a while and come up with something
14. First, sorry about the background clutter, I am getting ready for a big show next month and have no extra space in my office or shop. None of these have been cleaned up yet, freshly cut Ok, first pic is of JS Mimosa Mandarin (solid bar with poppy seeds) and JS Grapefruit Vanilla Twist. Both soaped beautifully. I was in total odds on what color to do the GVT in because it discolors (thanks for the info Carrie) so I tried to do a yellow and red swirl on top but my yellow kind of took over (a waste of red mica) and I colored the bottom with a little brown oxide (wanted a richer color than what it discolors to), the top of the bar is unscented. I have a few places the brown didn't get to, oh well, maybe next time. I used both at .75 FO ppo. They both smell very good. I backed off my water discount some and I had more time to work (didn't really need it with these) This is WSP Cool Water, I have no idea what to say about this bar but that it is ugly. I have no idea what the purple veins at the botton are, I colored with Ultramine blue, the top looks more like what I was looking for but.....any ideas. It soaped very nice, I don't really like this scent but I have a lot of men & women who do
15. she is probably talking about the 100% Coconut or lard soap, people ask me about it all the time, they talk about their mom or grandma making lye soap and they would shower with (very harsh) and launder with it. They always say it works great as a stain stick, but it hard to convince them my soap is not harsh like that was
16. I have used the powdered mica before and some did fall to the bottom eventually, but it looked more like a colored bottom, the gel itself looked awesome, nice and pearly. I did not have the time to test the mica any more after that to try using less or maybe mixing with a little gel then adding to the main batch. I just used liquid dye after that but do like the look of the mica better. Hope it works for you:D
17. I found it at Wild Oats and I think they have it at Whole Foods, the price at WO was reallly not that bad, I think it was a LB just can't remember the exact price. That is where I am going to get my powdered goats milk, it is $4 cheaper a LB than I have seen online
18. that is a great idea, I have considered it in the past but think I will talk to my designer about making an area just for that. I have been emailed by churches in other states ect requesting FREE donations to their cause, I never respond. Again, I do give donations but to causes I am familiar with etc. I just gave out 2 last month but I am not a freestore.
19. My thoughts exactly, don't get me wrong I give out a ton of samples, but with orders that have been paid for. Also, she says she came across my site searching for "high quality body souffle" or something to the sorts, but my site does not come up in the first 5 pages if you do that search, because I don't believe on my site I describe my souffle as "high quality" and don't believe we have it described that way in our search engine lines. Anyway, I know in the past people have talked about getting hit by the same individual, different sites, so if you get an email from her she may be trying to get a lot of freebies:DShe is from MA
