    Testing M&P Soap

All good information everyone. Thank you for sharing. Steve (I never know if it's Steve or Chuck but you sign with Steve so that is what I use:)), you say "look for low moisture M&P", do you mean look for bases that read "LCP=Like Cold Process"? Like this one: http://www.brambleberry.com/LCP-White-Melt-And-Pour-Soap-P3190.aspx ? I'm assuming that needing low moisture will keep the bars from getting all crappy after being wrapped and stored. I'm just a newbie trying to understand this stuff and not do something totally stupid.
  3. Nice beers! They look like the real thing. :highfive:
  4. How do some of you test out your M&P soap's before you put them on the market for purchase? How long do you test for and do you have folks that test for you? I've had a couple of folks interested in my soaps that I did a couple of weeks ago but I shied away since I have no clue about what to do as far as that area is concerned and quite frankly I was shocked that they would want them. I wasn't trying to sell the soaps, they just saw them and said "I want one".

    Bramble Berry List

Thanks BTA, I'll stay away from the red and spend it on something else. Yay!!
  6. Another yes here and I have done it recently on some pillars that I made. All of what they said above happened. What a waste
  7. Ya, it looks like it has a wee bit of white in the middle of the bar but I wasn't real sure if I was seeing it right on my monitor. I really like the coloring myself. Kinda a nice little surprise there. I would be interested to know.
  8. Your shot looks good to me What didn't you like about it? And are you comparing apples to apples? (not being a smartypants just didn't know how to word it better ) I like how your soapies turned out and I like the mold too. Good job! Is the middle soapie two different layers? It looks like there is a white layer on the bottom from what I can tell on the pic.

    M&P Recipes

I'm glad you asked this b/c I was wondering this myself this morning as I was reading this thread. I just got some shea M&P a couple of days ago and thought I couldn't use it in any of these recipes. Now I know I can. Btw, thanks ksranch for posting the link to the abbreviations. I sure needed them this morning.
  10. I'm putting together a list of things that I (think) need and wondered if this sounds right to some of you that have been doing M&P for a while.. Vanilla stabilizer: http://www.brambleberry.com/Vanilla-Color-Stabilizer-P4156.aspx Non bleeding colorant. (I've not used anything they offer and have zero clue) Veg Glycerin: http://www.brambleberry.com/Glycerin-Liquid-P3982.aspx And for fun: http://www.brambleberry.com/Grated-Rebatch-Soap-Base-Shea-P4603.aspx I'm not sure what else. I appreciate any help
  11. Ahh, welll, I just figured out what you meant. I are slow ya know and have very much to learn I see.... :embarasse I bought 3 different bases, olive oil, shea butter and goats milk. So are those considered "bases" (here on the forum) since they have everything (shea, goats milk and olive oil) already in the soap and I'm not making my own recipe with them? Am I using the word/term "base" right? They call them "bases" on Peaks site so I thought that was what they are called.
  12. Will do once I figure out how to color them and not have them bleed. Do you mean M&P or CP? (see I'm starting to learn the lingo )
  13. My new soap bases came in today! Now I have to figure out when I get to play with them :undecided It's a love/hate relationship (love getting them and playing, hate that I have to wait to do so).
  14. I was looking at KrazyKelly's pie soap she made a few days ago and it made me wonder why some of you make them? Can you sell them or are you making them for the heck of it? Seems to me like they would be lots of work and you would have to sell quite a lot to make it worth your time and effort. I see all the effort folks put in to very nice soapies and candles for that matter, that look like food and I don't get it from a business stand point, so enlighten me. I'm not asking b/c I want to make them (I have zero patience for that sort of stuff) but just curious more than anything.
  15. You have been busy Kelly. They all are nice but I love the Sea Mist the most.
  16. It is scented Sugar Plum Berries right? I love the scent and love your soap!
