    Coffee soap help

CB, I got a little happy with the measuring tool when I added the grounds . I ended up using a lot more than you suggested here and is now duly noted. Thanks for the tip. :smiley2:
  2. Now, I really have seen it all. Who in a million years would have ever scratched their heads and think "Gee, I think I will dip this toilet paper roll in wax"! LOL, this is funny to think about but GORGEOUS! I think if I told any non-wax type people what I saw they would think I've flipped my lid. Nice job BTA, hats off to you.
  3. Hard to believe that this is M&P. Looks very nice and now I'm hungry
  4. Yep looks like mountains and some nice fluffy clouds. Good job!

    Coffee soap help

I did remelt and tried pouring cooler while I was waiting for opinions. After unmolding the bars look a little better than the ones I posted but sure ain't nothing to brag about. What I did notice was that the skin that formed while I was waiting for it to cool down to pour, made lumps on the top (which would be the bottom once unmolded). I should have not let the skin be poured into the mold or stirred more (scratching head). I probably could strain them out or mostly out. Maybe some of my coffee grounds are just too big and heavy like BTA is kind of saying. I ground some beans in my coffee grinder and may have not got them fine enough. Who the heck knows at this point. It sure does smell good though Thanks all
  6. I made some "coffee grounds" M&P this morning for the first time and most of the grounds settled to the bottom of the mold (which would be the top of the bar once unmolded) :undecided. Can I remelt and start over? Will that ruin the soap by doing so? I used 2 pounds of Goat's milk soap base and poured in a tray 8 bar mold. I'm guessing I should have waited a little longer to pour but I got scared Thanks all! ** Editing here. I found the answer to whether or not I can remelt and the answer was yes so that part is answered. Should I have waited for the soap to get thicker before I poured? I waited until there was a slight skin on the top before pouring. Here are a couple of pics. Not the prettiest things I ever saw...
  7. BTA, I know I'm late but nice coffee soap pics. They look great!

    Round tube mold

    Thanks for the reply kids.
  9. Thanks, I just now looked at the top of this section and there is a sticky with abbreviations. I r dumb I guess cause I never looked. :embarasse
  10. I'm wondering a couple of three things about them. 1) what do you use? I see some use pringles cans. 2) how do you unmold them? 3) can you use the round molds for melt and pour in these types of molds? (hope, hope, hope)

    Wax Melt Vent

We just got back from a trip to Death Valley. On our way home we stopped in Beatty to have a bite to eat. Inside the cafe/saloon ( wasn't drinking THIS time ) the owners had a small section set up by the pop machine for the usual Avon stuff. I noticed a wax burner and of course I HAD to go look. I thought I recognized it and yep it was a Sentsy and had a no smell tart going. I don't know if the cafe was selling them or they were letting a local place them there but I had to fight off the urge to say something b/c afterall I was supposed to be on vacation and not thinking about work in any way. Now, I have to be prefectly honest in that I've never smelled one (Scentsy tart) before and I'm thinking this "tart" must have been going for a while b/c it has ZERO aroma. This thread reminded me of how people can be so sheepish and un-educated about certain things. I know I'm probably in the same boat as them with things that I know nothing of and I'm sure someone out there is laughing about me. The way I figure it this all makes it OK for me to laugh at them (customers) for their dumb (and sometimes scary) questions. So far, your customer/tester takes the cake TB.
  12. Are we talking about melt & pour or cold process soap here? All of these abbreviations make me crazy trying to figure them out like: GM CP MP OMH TBS WRT PPO, UPS FedEx & IRS. . It's my problem to learn. I'm light years behind and will have to kick it in warp gear. It's fun
  13. Most of the time I do not put the lids back on. I find that when I do after I have burned the candle, the next time I take off the lid I can smell a bit of smoke from the previous burn (just when I take off the lid). If I store the candle then I will "lid it". Also, I'm a bit on the lazy side when it comes to lidding the jar.
  14. They really do look like a cake Steve. Very nice I just can't get it in my head that I could wash myself with them though .
  15. They all are nice but aren't they a pain to make?
  16. A good decision I see. Nice colors!
  17. Candybee, I would love to see pictures of your finished lavender soap, if you please
  18. Nice. The bubbles on top are cute.
  19. That is a real bummer. Hey, maybe you could pay someone to beat them up Good luck, hope you find yourself a good name.
  20. I'm not a huge fan of green but love the green soapies!
