  1. Looks like the real McCoy to me but I am no expert. Should I post a pic???
  2. At a local drugstore I saw some Old Virginia Candle 8.5oz containers on sale for $2.99. The regular price is $4.99 (around here anyway). It says it's "Natural Soy Wax". Looks like a real nice candle, smelled good and a very nice container. I would think they are devaluing the product. Sure makes it hard to compete, but maybe that's the idea.
  3. Have you tried ULINE? Here is a link: http://www.uline.com/ Good luck!
  4. Hi Tess, Some words from a drip for what it's worth I know this isn't from a customer's point of view but can I ask why you are changing? Were you not getting enough hits from your old site? I do know that the asp websites are picked up faster by the search engines. I also read (and had some experience with) the pages built with templates are not search engine friendly. Sometimes the templates do look better but if it doesn't general traffic then what good is it? I just thought you might like the info so you can check it out yourself before you take the plunge...
  5. Purple ones are very striking I have purple ones in my yard if they ever come up..
  6. Thanks Vicky CO and HenryK for the clarification. Yes Henry you are right, it is confusing to say the least but I think I get it now I have seen first hand the wetspots that you have described (and described quite well I might add). Now just to get rid of them.....
  7. What is the difference between wet spots and air pockets. I thought I understood until I read Henyk's post about CBA... Quote IMO, version 1 and 2 are very similar as far as hot and cold throw goes, its hard for me to differentiate for throw but either of them benifit greatly from aging a bit. The version 1 seemed to get wet spots sooner than version 2 for me, and version 2 got air pockets more often than 1 (actually I don't think I had any problems with version 1 in this regard), so thats when some folks started to add 3 to 5% stearic to version 2. Neither of them frosted hardly at all for me, but if you burn them, you will see some some very slight frost on the re-hardened meltpool on top of very dark-dyed candles. Thanks
  8. Thank you all for your quick replies. You have been of great help. I did re-wick with a smaller wick and I am getting a much better throw. I will try more FO the next time I pour. The tops were real smooth, only a slight discoloration on the top. The only other thing that I did notice is that when I poured two containers with wicks, the wax pulled away from the lower part of the glass after it had cooled for a couple of days. I also poured one that had no wick (to test with) and it did not pull away until I put in a wick and tested. Not sure what's up with that. Trial and error I guess is what it's all about. Thanks again.
  9. Hi, I am not sure if this is the correct place to post this but here goes... I am testing a 8oz jj using Eco-Soya CB Advanced with Peaks Cinnamon Buns FO 1oz. per lb. of wax. The instructions that I had said to add FO at 175 degrees and to pour between 100-110 degrees (which I did). The jar is short and round with htp 104 wick. It seems to be burning well but there is hardly any throw. I have to put my nose right over the candle to smell the scent. When I first poured it smelled fantastic. I have kept the lid on the jar until yesterday when I started to test. Everything I have read so far says that this scent should have a good hot throw so what could I have done wrong? Thanks for the help.
