Hello everyone! I am still mourning over the loss of Peak! It's just so devastating; I wish I had known it was coming. I would have stocked up with my favorite oils! Anyway, my absolute hands down FAVORITE was their "Pumpkin Caramel Latte"; I have not been able to find one that is even close! Does anyone have any idea or suggestions as to where I could find a comparable version? I'm desperate. Also of theirs that were stellar: Birthday Cake Twilight Woods Caramel Apple Who was Peak's supplier? And what did Peak do with all of their inventory? I would love some answers, thank you.

Hello everyone! So, I've been making melts for a long time now; I make only specialty shaped ones for my shop. I place them in poly bags with little tags. I finally decided to get some clamshell containers from CS only to save some time and to increase my quantity but I'm so thrown off by the plastic odor! It really turns me away when I open the container and my beautiful wax is suffocated by that plastic smell. I tried soaking them first in soapy water, then tried pouring cooler because the heat seems to activate the smell more. I think some of you may say that it doesn't effect the smell once the wax is in the warmer but to me it does; it's like that odor seeps through the wax the longer they cure. Does anyone else have this issue? Conversely, do any of you buy clamshell containers from another supplier that don't smell so plasticky? Thank you!

I love Peak. Even though they stopped carrying my 4786 they are still my go-to for FOs. Their Birthday Cake, Pumpkin Caramel Latte and Caramel Apple are out of this world. ?

Hello Everyone! I haven't been active on here for months; I've been busy, making candles of course! Anyway, thought I would drop by to update this topic with my Ice Cream FO findings! I had tried so many varying vendors' vanillas and ice creams and I kept going back to Flaming Candle's "Summer Scoop". I got past the weird note (mostly just OOB really). This one has killer throws, I mean literally one triple wick 11oz libbey bowl fills the whole house and the fragrance lingers long after extinguishing. This FO is super heavy in vanillin so you have to cut back to 5% load to prevent beading. I've already sold quite a few of the triple wick with this FO and my customers love it as well. Anyway, I hope you all are doing well and making lots of candles! ❤

I was just genuinely excited about the Aztec app; I'm aware that some other suppliers may have apps but I haven't shopped from those suppliers. As I had written above, apps simply make browsing and shopping easier. Apps may not be for everyone, but I use them and just felt like sharing. ?

Yes, I love Aztec! I hadn't realized those other companies had apps because I don't buy supplies from them; I was hoping Peak, RE and Flaming Candle will make some soon.

Good question! Apps basically exist to simplify everything. For people like myself who use their phone more often than a desktop, apps provide a sleeker and more efficient layout than an old html website format. For instance, Peak's website is really outdated; it isn't mobile friendly, meaning for a smaller screen like an iPhone you have to zoom into everything just to read it. Which is tedious when you just want to scroll through their products. Apps obviate dilly-dallying on the website, leaving more time for actual candlemaking! Nature's Garden actually isn't a supplier I use but it's nice to know that more suppliers will be creating apps. I hope this answers your question. ?

I was super excited when I went to Aztec's site yesterday to find that they now have an app! This makes it SO much easier since a lot of the suppliers websites are pretty outdated; I hope the other suppliers jump on the bandwagon! On a side note, I actually just recently started purchasing from Aztec after a suggestion from grama here on the board. Peak has discontinued 4786 so I had to choose a new supplier. I'm really pleased with them; the 4786 stock is perfect and I am quite liking their FOs as well.

This is definitely one of those "don't judge it OOB" sort of FO. Yes, it does have a sort of indescribable peppery note OOB but it completely disappears after it cures for a few days. I had four fresh noses smell the cold throw and they all said it smelled really good, like ice cream. The beading happened at 6% yes, but I'm sure the throw will still be amazing at 4-5% (which I will test). This FO behaves like marshmallow FOs, super heavy and you must pull back your load. These things for me are the trade off for an amazing hot throw! It really smells exactly like a Baskin Robbins, waffle cones and all. I use 4786/4627 blend with HTPs and also tested with cotton core with the same throw results. I am testing with a triple-wick 4 inch diameter Libbey Bowl. But as I said, I will still be testing other Ice Creams from various suppliers to explore all my options! ???

Happy New Year Everyone! So, I contacted Just Scent regarding their "Neapolitan Ice Cream" and they said it's being discontinued. So with no reviews and a discontinue I won't be ordering it! I am however going for Fragrance Buddy's "Vanilla Ice Cream" as you all so kindly suggested as well as the "Neapolitan Ice Cream" from WSP, which has 30+ rave reviews. All weekend I've been testing a Libbey Bowl with Flaming Candles' "Summer Scoop" (the FO I wasn't too sure about) but it's been proving me wrong! I cannot BELIEVE the hot throw with this one. Three hours after extinguishing, the fragrance was still lingering on the stairs and all through the house. It TRULY smells like Ice Cream. So, I'm going to try the other Ice Cream FOs while keeping "Summer Scoop" as a top contender. I will keep you all updated here and give you the scoop on my findings! ?

I'll be looking into that FB Ice Cream indeed! It's a bummer because "Summer Scoop" from Flaming Candle has a killer hot throw and it smells EXACTLY like an ice cream shoppe, however, it has a really weird note OOB and in the cold throw that I can't get past. It also beads and doesn't blend well even at 5% load. The hunt continues! Happy New Year to you as well!

Yes, I've found Just Scent to be hit or miss; either I am totally in love with an FO or I really hate it. The topic of Just Scent has been raised before regarding their lack of posting negative reviews. When an FO such as the "Neapolitan Ice Cream" has zero reviews it makes me think that there were negative reviews that she just didn't post! They reopen on the 3rd after New Year's; I'm going to go for it and order some of the Ice Cream FOs and I will post here if they are hit or miss!

I've tried "Birthday Cake" from 4 different major suppliers and Peak's for me is the best! They are all decent but Peak's blends seamlessly in the wax at 6% and the throws are stellar. My customers love it! I know what you mean though; I would love to try FOs from all the suppliers but it's the shipping cost that kills me. Sometimes I think it's a good thing or else I would be buying way too many fragrances!

I finally got around to trying this a couple of weeks ago; I made some melts and it is divinity! I adore maple FOs anyway, the apple and the maple are super strong; the throw is incredible. I fell in love with it; it's now a staple in my library!
