  1. It is Oct right???? I'm pouring everything pumpkin.....cheescake, bread, creme brulee, patch, pie spice etc and what orders do I get.....mulberry, cotton blossoms, orange blossoms, oceans, magnolia, fresh linen!!! I have over 50 scents made up in jars in inventory right now and as usual everyone wants what I don't have made up!!!!! Unbelievable! But I am grateful for the orders!!!!!
  2. I got both of those in and they are awesome. When my grandson smelt cornbread muffins (his nickname is cornbread...cause it was one of his first words and he loves it so much) oob he said "Nana how did they get your cornbread in that bottle?" I haven't burnt the candle yet but pouring it the smell was real southern cornbread right out the oven in a cast iron skillet! The autumn wreath is fantastic also. Very multi layered and complex and fall-ish!!! I was going up Sat. to smell the Yankme to see how close it is.
  3. I have a request from a customer for Aspen Flower by Pier 1. I've searched fragrance finder and no luck....anyone seen this available yet?
  4. Don't they realize customers will never smell the candle over the cooking of the pizza smell already there? They need something that will compliment that smell already there like maybe a wine...but some customers you just can't educate!!! Food smells do work tho, I made up a white chocolate bread pudding scent for a friend with a restaurant and on weeks when she burnt it (every other week for 6 weeks as a test) she sold twice as much bread pudding.
  5. JS's Gingerbread Goodies is scrumptious and an awesome thrower in my 50/50.
  6. Taylored has a vanilla sugar cookie that is awesome.
  7. Sounds like you may have too big of a wick and it's burning too hot. Try going down a notch and see what happens.
  8. You have to treat it like a scientific experiment. You have to make deligent notes. You have to weigh every contributing factor. You can only change one thing at a time to see what different results (if any) are achieved. If everything and I mean everything (% of FO, type and weight of wax) are exactly the same and the only difference is adding a wick...that's your answer. That is why it's such an accomplishment when a true chandler finds the magic combo and makes a candle that is beautiful to look at, delightful to smell and burns perfectly. It's not easy and takes years of trial and error. The perfect end result is well worth all the time it takes to properly test. And then just when you have it down just right.....you'll want to try something new!!!!!
  9. I use Cajun's and I've held it up to my plumeria and it's damn close!
  10. Do you mean they burn down the middle fast and then the sides have to catch up????? If that's your question then you've probaby got an air pocket trapped during your pouring. Are you hitting the first layer with a heat gun right before you do your 2nd pour?
  11. This is what I use to clean my jars after I pour into them. When I made gel wax candles I used to make a wipe out of papertowels & baby shampoo & water that cleaned up like crazy. I don't remember the exact recipe but I remember I had to find a plastic container tall enough to hold a roll of papertowels but I guess I could have used baby wipes and just added the water/baby shampoo solution to it.
  12. This is probably true cause it works wonders on drying up zits!
  13. I just had to order some. There are therapeutic natures of salt when heated...cleans the air....kills bacteria. I have a huge rock cyrstal lamp in my bedroom I think I got from Taylored. Got some of the colossal and some ocean sea salt for my kitchen.
  14. It's been a while since I tested them and I don't have my notes handy. If I remember correctly there weren't big differences that I detected...just remember that neither had fuel, both threw well so I could order from either supplier.
  15. I've used both WW and CandleSoylutions and they are both good throwers with no fuel smell.
  16. I tried to find if I still have any gel wax but the last place it could be is behind some shelving my DH & DS have shoved up against some of my supplies while they work on our '56 Chevy. Unfortuantely they will be working on it for at least 2 more weeks. If my feeble little brain can remember after they move the car out I will look to see if I still have some. Sorry I offered before I knew for sure!
  17. JS's Happiness NG's Australian Bamboo
  18. Here are the ingredients on the one I use: Ingredients: Water, propylene glycol, sodium stearate, aloe vera, witch hazel, eucalyptus oil.
  19. You will pay a small fortune for gel wax at Michael's. Last time I looked it was a gallon tub that was something ridiculous like $35. I don't remember seeing it at Hobby Lobby but don't get there very often. I haven't made gel candles in years but I'll be happy to look to see if I still have any I'll be happy to send you some. How much do you think you'd need?
  20. Did you suggest a good Sinus Dr. for her to go see cause obviously she's got a blockage if she didn't notice it stopped smelling!
  21. I figured it would cover all bases if it states 1/2 instead of a measurement. There are too many different brands of burners out there. I figure some instructions should come with the burner itself. I know when I sell one of my burners I physically pull out the tray and show them how to fill it. I try to give some credit to my customers but usually just when I do they do something really dumb to amaze me.
  22. I wonder how delicate they are to try and transport. They have a big cancer fundraiser here at night and they always use paper bag luminairies and I donate the votives in my sister's memory...I could offer these if they would transport without cracking.
  23. I don't have one of mine here to copy for you but something like this: Place enough oil to fill holder 1/2 way. Turn on burner and enjoy. No additives needed. After a few days as aroma weakens carefully empty and replace with fresh oil. Caution: Spilled oils may damage furniture finishes and plastics. Caution: not for food consumption or body use.
  24. I've used Cajun's and BCN and I have to say I prefer Cajun's. It has a great throw and I always sell tons cause I post this poem: Bayberry candles burnt down to the socket Brings luck to the heart and wealth to the pocket!
