Creamy vanilla has been good seller for years & vanilla cotton is new fav of mine!!!

last year I started using JS's votive was (pellets). I mix a pound of wax with an ounce of fo and put in 1oz. bags (Uline). I sold a good bit more than the previous year with the same school.

I developed tennis & golfer's elbow in both elbows from candlemaking. Physical therapy did nothing other than pay for my PT to put her kid thru collage. My orthopedic surgeon gave me flexing exercises & it got cleared up in under 2 weeks. Bending hands down and up...building up the muscles from fingertips to elbow. You have to realize your nerves & tendon & muscles are all involved. Just remembered I found this stuff that really helped b4 I went to the Dr. Go to www.ctcream.com this stuff is amazing. It would stop my pain so I could sleep. It's a little pricey but you don't need much. A jar would last me probably 2 months. good luck.

tropical sugar or hawaiian vanilla kinda depends on what scent is a top note.

Shaharazade Arabian Nights Dance of 7 Veils I love patch scents...if this one has a middle eastern sexy type of muskiness you could use any of these. If not....nevermind!!!!! lol how 'bout pole dancing? lmao:laugh2:

I don't use either of these...I think you may have too much oil to your salt ratio.

I knew it was something like that or it wouldn't be that expensive for us to buy. That's why I wanted a small distiller since I won't be making huge amounts. May always be just a pipe dream or maybe I'll have DH make me a copper one and I can make mash at the same time!!!!!!!

I also have had this thought in the back of my mind but only decent looking steam distiller is $400 and I don't want to invest that much before I truly figure out what I'm getting into. I have the above referened Worwood book & a 1 page explanation of making your own essential oils & making a do it yourself still. I can't see me doing the still in the kitchen & then using a pipette to suck off the floating essential oil. I have "Hydrosols the next aromatherapy" by Suzanne Catty and it has quite a bit more info the the subject so I will read this and then report back since I'm not the onlyone interested. I got into this idea cause I grow a lot of herbs and felt they could go to so much more use....especially when I see what they get for the finished product.

I just read on lonestar's site they don't recommend them in pure paraffin but didn't say anything about parasoy. I think I might give it a go with a 12 pack.

Depending on how much you need Wal Mart sells one that is 100% aloe vera gel and I think it was banana boat. They also sell aloe vera juice which I use in my soaps 1/2 replacement of the water.

I got some from NG and OOB it's absolutely awesome. These will be hard to sell cause I think I'm gonna keep all the ones I make.

I use ground coffee at my shop and it's in a grated cheese jar with slotted lid I got at Wal Mart. I've also seen red pepper flakes in them at Italian restaurants. When I used them at shows I would just put a piece of plastic wrap over the opening and then screw the lid on when transporting it.

thanks much for this info...it will come in very very handy cause I'm adding a tiny little hex jar to my line and when I use the heat gun it sometimes scorches the wick.

My fav has always been from Willow Woods (www.2wwoods.com )....in soap the scent lingers on your skin for hours.

I am not stupid enough to think a disclaimer would absolve me from a lawsuit because any dumb fool can hire an attorney and sue.....over nothing!!!!! I have a good relationship with people I do business with and I talk to them like they aren't bafoons. I let them know since this is a glass product anything could happen...and that applies to a new piece of glass also. If someone came in there with crap glass or they seemed too stupid I would turn them down saying the glass wouldn't hold up to the heat. BUT you can only do so much when you own your own business. It takes some common sense also. Since this was brought up I think I will add a signature line to the paperwork with a line about customer provided glassware and customer responsibility and not mine blah blah blah and have the customer sign it when they pick up their products.

I've been doing this for over 9 years and not even so much as a bad comment. If we're scared of lawsuits why would we even make a candle or soap or lotions or anything for that fact to sell...it's no different.Do you get married planning on the divorce lawyer? My lawyer stated it perfectly....anyone can sue over anything no matter what you do and no matter how perfect you are and how stupid they are.......but if you cover your bases beforehand and educate them they are less likely to. With our other business we have it stated on the packing slips that we aren't liable for anything further than the manufacturer's warranty. And that was done by the advise of our lawyer. Nothing further we can do. Hell, it was an o ring like we sell that was at fault with the space shuttle disaster.....but if an idiot doesn't know how to install it ....disaster can happen. Who would think a 2 cent o ring could do that much distruction but everyday DH has to tell ignorant people how to install stuff back into hydraulic equipment that they just removed. And lots of times the whole reason it was leaking to begin with is they had it in backwards.

Parta of my business is filing customer provided jars. I first look at the glass to see how thin it is. Ask if they've ever put a candle in it before. If they call me ?'g a jar I'll tell them to put in in the over at around 300°and see how it does. The instructions that I give before and after I pour the wax clearly states I am not liable for any broken glass for any reason....weather when wax hits it or when they burn it. They are totally liable for resulting breaking and I make no guarantees of how the candle will burn since I don't do an actual test with it. I simply do a very good guestimation on the wick but I'm 99.9% right on that. this is a large part of my business mostly for votive wall sconces. People like the way I can fill them more than a regular votive. They usually buy a jar of mine or two and then bring those back and I know those are good for burn after burn. I have ones I've been repouring in for over 3 years now.

After 10+ years of pouring the only place I now trust to test is my 1/2 bathroom with the door closed. For me to walk in a room and get a good inkling of the throw is not accurate anymore. But if I give it to DIL if I know I'm going to her house that day it will gladly greet me at her door. I don't know if it's the scents, the house or my allergies getting worse and worse. It still amazes me how you can take a sniff of a new scent oob....and then everytime you inhale some cool air you'll resmell it even after a few hours have gone by.

You mean a cloth bag with a drawstring? I don't think I've ever seen a printed one. Only the very sheer fabric with the pretty satin ribbon. Only thing close to that I remember is printed poly bags from Burton & Burton but wouldn't call that a sachet bag.

The only good HT I found in Yankee was the really strong ones like Home Sweet Home but the wicking and soot was enough for me to stop buying them all together. Had better luck with Colonial as far as HT went but the one that is the biggest rip off for your money has to be Pier 1. Their scents are delicious (in room sprays and votives) but those pillars are the biggest rip off for HT....absolutely nothing. I thought it was just me but my daughter told me the same thing. Fool me once shame on you......

I've just finished testing these out (I use 5050) and I found a CD5 or 6 was pretty much perfect.
