  1. Shannon WY inspired me with this. The flash caused a glare on the horse. I love making these, but they are time consuming with having to carve around the horse. Thanks for looking,,,,,Portia
  2. Yes, the horsehead is wax also, with painted eyes and maine. This is a 3x4 square pillar. Thanks,,,Portia
  3. Just playing around with something different. Not exactly what I'm trying to achieve. Though the picture doesn't show it, there is a tealight inserted in the top. I too a brush to the pillar and then brushed brown paint over it to settle in the lines. I was trying for a burlap type look. It does look better in person. The back side has a boot attached to it. Thanks for looking. Portia
  4. I hope this pic doesn't break the board. Just alittle something I'd played around with. I should have taken the picture at a different angle. The yellow pieces laying around on it is baby strollers, bottles and small teddy bears.

  6. Depends if you are testing for scent throw or just how it burns. If it's for scent throw then yea, I'd wait 24 hrs., but if it's just for burn, then you could test it as soon as it sets up and cools. JMHO,,,,,,Portia

  8. I use this very same wax and love it, but it isn't a 1 pour from what I've found. I thought in the beginning that it was a 1 pour and ended up tunneling when I burned it. Be sure you test those. Portia

  11. If you have wick pins, then you don't need the screws or plugs. Those are for use if you are prewicking a pillar, it helps to secure the wick. I never could get the darn things to work w/o leaking, so I prefer not to use them. HTH Portia

  17. Because you can't heat these molds like you can the aluminum one's, I don't think it would feather like it should. I tried to pour some embeds in a silicone mold and they didn't feather. From my experience, you have to pour into something heated inorder to achieve the feathering. HTH Portia
