  1. Sorry for the picture quality, I stink at photography. I made this for a lady that boarded our horse while Joanie was in the hospital for her transplant. I haven't dipped it yet. I hope she likes it. I will include a 2 pack of votives in her favorite scent along with it. Thanks for looking,,,,,,,Portia
  2. I was just fixing to send you a PM and tell you to let us see a picture of that. That turned out GREAT! I just finished a hurricane for the lady that boarded our horse while Joanie was in the hospital and for some reason my computer isn't recognizing my memory card. If I can EVER figure out how to get this picture off this card I will post it. Great job Donita! Portia
  3. Thank you all so much! Lumina: I have been ordering my flowers from www.pressed-flowers.com and www.greetingsofgrace.com Both sites were given to me by Donita. Sharyl55: The way to get the hint of color on the bottom is, I poured about 1" of the pink in a stainless steel bowl. You have to make sure it is level and even, let it set like you would when you are doing a hurricane, then pour the excess off. Make sure the rim is even and level and then pour in my clear/white layer to the top and finish up just like doing a hurricane. The first one I did was with a yellow bottom and I didn't level the rim and it came out yucky looking and had jump lines in it. Thanks,,,,,,Portia
  4. Did you heat your molds? IMO, it looks like you did pour too cool. HTH Portia
  5. What type of wax and how much FO did you use? What size wick did you use? Portia
  6. Thank you all so much! They are so much fun to do, but then again, I enjoy doing tedious stuff also. Basically what I did was to place my chunks (CBL141) and over pour with 4045H. The poems were put on using Modge Podge and then I put the flowers on. I did underwick these alittle, but my hang will have instructions to remove flowers and poem before burning. Though I couldn't imagine anyone burning one of these, but you NEVER know. I can't wait now to see what they will look like once they are dipped. HTH Portia
  7. Just a few that I played around with over the weekend. These have not been overdipped yet nor have they been leveled. Donita, it's your fault, you got me hooked on these and now I can't stop. I guess I'll have to start going to addiction meetings..... Thanks for all your help and advice. Portia
  8. I have some of the SW tubing for votives if you're interested. Portia
  9. It looks really good to me, but I think I would wick down. JMHO Portia
  10. I'm glad I'm not the only one wondering about these. I have tried the 36z and it ended up too hot and mushroomed something aweful. I recently tried the S-330 TC's but they are just a tad bit too small, so I am needing something just a tad bit larger. Will keep searching I guess. TIA Portia
  11. What is your all time favorite tealight wick? I have tried several with several different waxes and can't which I really want to stick with. TIA Portia
  12. And I guess those "little pockets of scented oil" they are refering to that you can see through the jar must be the those "WET SPOTS" :laugh2: Give me a break! Dang, they must have to work REALLY hard to get all those "little pockets of scented oil" in there,,,,,,,,,ROFLMAO Portia
  13. I am seriously considering attending my first craft fair this upcoming fall and was wondering. Do you have to have a business license and a tax ID# before you can be accepted into these? Just seriously considering doing one and I am a nervous nanny, I see now what you all who have done them before go through before hand,,,,,,LOL TIA Portia
  14. Thank you all so much for the help! Portia
  15. Why not get the larger plastic containers with lids that you can get at Wal-mart? They come in quite a variety of sizes. I used them for my aroma beads and they worked fine. HTH Portia
  16. Just wondering how much you would pay for the following spaces? This would be in a 9000 sf building Antique and Craft Mall (climate controlled) right in the heart of a major tourist town. The income in this town from tourist in 2004 was $98,130,000. The owner supplies business cards to each vendor, price labels, phamplets and a website. Once you set up your space the owner takes care of the rest. Each vendor sets up their space like they want it, supplies the owner with an inventory sheet w/prices, etc., and when an item is sold keeps a computerized track of your inventory and supplies you with a printout each month. 10x10 = $100/month 15x15 = $150/month 20x20 = $200/month I've never checked into anything like this and wonder if this was too much for these space sizes? TIA Portia
  17. No, I never did find it. The label on the bottle that I have says "New Nouveau", the healing garden ORGANICS Fig & Lavender Then on the label on the back of the bottle says The organic body mist blends nutrient-rich fig with soothing organic lavender to refresh skin. With notes of bergamot, water lily and vanilla to please the senses. So, I guess it's a mixture of all listed. I would sure LOVE to be able to come up with this mixture cause this 6 oz bottle was regular price $8.00 but I found it on sale. I've never smelt Fig nor Bergamot, so I don't have a clue what those might smell like. I just know that this is one of those fragrances that when I smelt it, I went AHHHHHH that smells good. If you want Pam W, I can spray some on a card and send it to you and maybe you can come up with something. Portia
  18. What a great job! Boy does Bruce have some competition going on:D Portia
  19. Woman is there an end to your "Artistic" ability? Everytime I see a pic of something that you've done, my mouth just drops open and I say,,,,,,"Wow, how beautiful". I was wondering the other day, have you ever done a hurricane (clear/white) and embedded colored chunks in the bottom or throughout it? I wondered how that would look with the flowers. Maybe embed green chunks in the bottom of the hurricane and bring up from that with flowers? Just throwing off ideas from your works of art, though my imagination nor artistic ability is ZIPPO compared to yours. Can't get enough of your great work Donita,,,,,,,,,you are amazing!!!!!!! Portia
  20. What a fabulous job and very elegant looking. Portia
  21. I received some paperwork along time ago about this snazzy craft mall in Boone, NC and for the life of me I can't remember the name of it and can't find my paperwork. Someone from here told me about it, but I can't remember who that was. Can you tell I will turn 40 in alittle over a week? :embarasse Does anyone by chance know the name of this place? I have googled, but couldn't find it. TIA Portia
  22. I got a rose mold for that same purpose at Micheal's in the candy making section. They have the one's like the small roses in the picture and then they have a round open rose mold also. Hope you can see them in the picture. HTH Portia
  23. I purchased some a few years ago and if I'm not mistaken I bought them from Kangaroo Blue. HTH Portia
