  1. SSolis, I can't thank you enough for your posting. I am in need of some and was scared to fork out the money on it if it was going to let me down again. Thank you so much! Portia

  4. Thank you all for the responses on this wax. I don't have alot of time nor money to spend on testing a wax that is going to give me a fit. I guess Joy wax spoiled me rotten, because of all the waxes I've tried, I keep going back to it. Anyone still using Joy wax? I haven't purchased a case of it in about 10 months now, but do remember having cracking and frosting issues with the last case that I did buy. Any in put on Joy that has been purchased more recently would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,,,Portia
  5. Thinking of trying a slab and was wondering if anyone has used it and what did you think? I have used Joy for years and loved it up until about 2 years ago. TIA Portia I'm going to school, but had some customers that just would'nt let me quit making some candles. Gets rid of my itch I guess.
  6. Someone on this board from somewhere in Virginia purchased some supplies from me back in February. If you are that person, please, please send me a pm. Thanks,,,Portia
  7. I took a chance and ordered a 4oz bottle of this stuff and OMG I don't smell ANY lavender in it. It smells more like some cleaning chemicals or something. Anyone else tried it yet? Maybe it's just me. Portia
  8. Has anyone been able to successfully wick Bayberry using Joy wax? I've been testing the 8oz sq. mason and even a 62z drawns out. I have had to wick way up using this fo in 4794. I'm thinking of testing a CD14 or 16, but beyond that I'm not too experienced in other types wicks. Any other suggestions? TIA Portia
  9. I sure wish I could make this one, we just this week started talking about moving back to Fuquay. We are currently in Maggie Valley. We have to take my daughter to the NIH in Bethesda, MD this coming up weekend and that's about all the traveling we will be able to squeeze out this month. You guys have a blast and hope to meet you all at the next one. Portia

  15. I have been using this for several months now on my feather palm candles. This last order of paper that I've gotten, every attempt the ink ends up like bleeding. After it has been on the candle for several hours, the wording tends to look almost fuzzy/bleeding looking and I've had a couple of them to peel off. I sprayed it with 4-5 coats of sealer on each one before applying it and it still happens. Has anyone had this happen? TIA Portia
  16. I know someone had mentioned something about having to keep relighting their incense. I have searched everything in the archives but only found one question on incense. I am playing with a starter kit and I let them soak for 3 days (I just didn't have time to set them out to dry) and have let them air dry for 3 days and I have to keep relighting the sticks. The cones burn fantastic, but the sticks don't. Any suggestions,,,,TIA Portia
  17. Do you have SKS website? I still can't find them. TIA Portia
  18. Thanks Maggie, I will check there. I was looking in Nashville Wraps X-mas catalog today and I didn't see them in there. Thanks to both of you! Portia

  20. Could anyone tell me where you can get those champain bottles with the colored wrapper around the top like you would use for bubble bath? I finally found a base that I would like to use. TIA Portia
  21. I use Joy wax, and have for the past 6 years and I'm still loving it. Portia
  22. Not sure if this will help ya, but when I seal mine, I seal it so that when I bring the arm of the sealer down it touches the side of my votive, but not enough so that it dents the votive. I also push the votive into the bag so that it is sitting snug against the already sealed side of the bag. HTH Portia
  23. I can't help you, but I'm glad you posted something to this effect. I ordered a kit and am fixing to start soaking some tonight and would love to know what to look for. My question is, what do you use to soak yours in? TIA Portia
  24. I have been testing some X-mas for about a week now. The last Barton & Barton magazine that I rec'd had some really cute one's in it. HTH Portia
