  1. I know the particular Libby tumbler I use is a 13.5 oz tumbler I put it on scale tar scale add scented wax to a decent fill line and it is 12 oz I then put 12 oz on label I have seen this exact same tumbler marketed by southern firefly as a 13.5 oz candle and. I am feeling that is false advertising I have also seen other companies fill to where I do in same container and put only 11 oz maybe giving leeway for pour error I have a etched glass so know exactly where 12 oz mark is I have to say I have been reading this forum for years and gained a wealth of information and never before felt someone was upset mad or snarky this was not the norm the people responding to original post are always so knowledgeable and helpful and I want to Thank y'all for being so patient always!
  2. This makes perfect sense and is a wealth of information, I want to thank you for taking the time to write it as I am sure many of us have been wondering what it takes to make that step and reallistically I am not ready! I will proceed with visiting shops myself and leaving samples etc. I want to thank you again as I am sure many will benefit from this post!!!!
  3. Pughaus thanks for joining the thread as I myself have been so curious as to what point other candle makers look for a rep could you explain the process and when you feel one would be ready for that step? Thank you so much!
  4. This is my next planned step so I have not gone this far yet you can search online for a rep in your area or attend a market and meet reps and see if there is one that showcases product in a way you like and that is taking in new clients you must be prepared to be able to produce a certain amount of product at this point
  5. So I let the rrd 29s and the eco2s burn for ten hours the rrds got a dirty look to the wax in the bottom and the melted part got a dark brown not pretty the eco 2s burned clean and pretty till the end today I am pouring c3 with the exact same combo to see if cleanliness and throw compare to the millennium and when cd4 wicks come in I will compare to eco2 wicks 1st two pictures are eco third picture is rrd I blew it out as it was getting ugly wax was very dark caramel looking instead of clear the eco wicks burn was very clear and pretty all the way same wax same scent the rrds were just a. It too hot and there are not lower rrds to pick from to doublewick this container so far eco is winner but we shall see about cd4 when they arivw
  6. You can wholesale to boutiques and salons by visiting and dropping off samples or take one step further and get a rep to have them at market
  7. Wanted to show a double wick millennium burn the left is double eco 2 the right is double rrd29. I thought they would be too hot but they are not I don’t think o could wick down to eco 1 and rrd does not go lower the eco is cleaner as the rrd dropped a couple pieces of wick while burning I have carefully trimmed each one so far both threw amazing with 7 percent fo and a 48 hour cure next week I will have cd 4 wicks to play with these burned waaaaay cleaner than when I double wick c3 but I was also using high percent fragrance oil in c3 next week I will also test c3 with all wicks and 6 percent to see which has superior throw with this wick combo and see if c3 can be double wicked without getting black the last photo is c3 with double eco2 but at ten percent fo will test again at 6 per manufacturer instructions but from past experience the throw is not there at 6 compares to the millennium throw
  8. So after several burns the two rrd29 ended up not being too hot they are burning beautiful and did get to the point fragrance wise with only 7 percent and 48 hour cure to not only fill the open concept but start coming up my stairs. The rrd mushroomed slightly on first burn but not after that I am trying cd wicks when I get them using two 4s. With c3 I always had black stuff in the wax when trying to double wick and I will test again against this combo to see if fragrance can get this good with rrd wicks however the burn on millineum looks way cleaner at this point but i have way less fragrance oil than I would put in c3 to get this throw. still testing.!
  9. Pouring slowly with all Soy waxes to prevent bubbles I have found that following instructions for temps that manufacturer provides works best
  10. On cs On c3 I melt to 185 add fo and mix and pour with millennium I melt to 160 add fo at 140 and pour at 115 as per manufactur instructions of each wax
  11. I probably need to utilize other testers! Thank you for letting me know how much you use !!
  12. I used to buy paddywax marketed as a Soy candle and the hot throw of a 4 oz jar covered my house I went online and on website it says they mix Soy with a food grade paraffin they do not say percentages not everyone is going to look at website for formulation but I remember feeling I had somewhat been fooled into thinking I was buying a all Soy product I learned after that it must say 100 percent Soy to be an all Soy product which are very few Soy waxes
  13. I have been using c3 for a long time my latest box is 2017 is c3 experiencing the same problems as all the others? Also if I may ask as I see you are a c3 user what percentage of fo do you use? I get a pretty cAndle pretty burn at 6 too light ht if I up I get soot and burn issues wondering if it is just my wicks or if the ,a ufscturer instructions that say 6 percent s because anymore will take away from burning qualities of candle?
  14. I follow instructions from manufacturer of wax c3 is poured at a higher temp and says add oils at 185 millennium is heated to and poured at lower temp and says to add fragrance at 140 it has been awhile since I tested the others to remember manufacturer recommendations I have read that if you don’t add at 185 it will not bind to wax and it totally binds at the lower temp for millennium so the manufacturers have tested and tested before putting their recommendations
  15. Thank you! I have cd wicks on order and my first pour tried 7 percent throw is good at 48 hour cure for my master bedroom but still not enough to fill open concept living kitchen area will try 8 percent and cd wicks!!
  16. I am just now finding time to test I am happy so far with scent throw ! Need to burn all the way down so far clean burning! What wick and fragrance percent did you use?
  17. Thank you I will test at 8 percent as well I have cd wicks on order. !!
  18. To left is 2 rrd 29 wicks millennium wax Libby 13.5 tumbler 1st burn 3 hours slight mushroom right is 2 eco 2 wicks millennium wax 13.5 tumbler 1st burn 3 hours slight hang up of wax this is a 48 hour cure using rustic essentials fo both are throwing well
  19. I have been using c3 for years and still not totally happy with it finally have had time to start testing millennium in c3 I had to up fragrance to get ht and before burning had a beautiful candle perfect but with higher oil had soothing on jar and just not a pretty burn i poured two millennium to start one with 2 eco 2 wicks and one with 2 rrd 29 wicks in 13.5 oz Libby tumbler so far the 2 eco 2 with rustic essentials frosted sugar snow only cured 2 days is blowing me away at 7percent fo on 1 st burn good flame and melt pool at 3 hours we will see if it gets too hot on the next few burns the one with rrd wicks has a bit of mushroom and achieved full melt too quickly will probably be too hot i have eco 1 wicks and have ordered cd4 wicks as I do love double wicked candles in this tumbler will test those in this wax and my c3 c3 I heat to180 add fragrance right Away and pour after stirring softly two minutes ok pour slowly I get a perfect glossy candle this was way smoother glossier and prettier unburned and I like that I can pour it hot With millennium I followed instructions and melted to 160 fragrance at 140 stirred two minutes waited till almost slushy and poured slowly top is even no sink holes but not as pretty and glossy slightly mottled but not more than ones I have seen in high end boutique candles this wax is more labor intensive with all the waiting So I tried melting at 160 adding fragrance right away and pouring right awAy top was more mottled and had a slight wet spot that got better overnight used a different wick and fragrance so cannot say if it effected throw as both combos Are throwing well but following instructions made a prettier candle I will be thoroughly testing against c3 for next couple months to see if throw is worth the switch and also it does not seem to need the curing that c3 needs i have two favorite boutique candles in this size jar that retail for 34 dollars that i that I have tried to make mine match up to and I think I have found the wax they are using but still looking for the right wicks One more thing ..... for years I have read people mixing fragrance at different temps some say has to be high to bind some say it burns off while cooling if mixed too high my theory after all this testing... if if you have a wax that needs pored at high temp mix fragrance at 185 and citrus at 175 if you pour right awAy it does not burn off if you have a wax that requires a low pour temp mix frAgrance at 140-160 so it does not burn off while cooling I can attest my fragrance blinded with the millennium instructions will I switch I will know if it is worth more labor and higher price but if I achieve more throw with less oil and a cleaner burn the cost will be worth it
  20. @njcurley how exciting!!! Thank you for sharing info with me I am excited to test I ordered yesterday and received a notice I should get it today that is great service and worth not driving two hours round trip excited to test and will use my premiers! The customer service person I spoke to says she usually uses 7-8 percent with cd or htp for in house testing she even threw in a few handfuls of wicks and I have premiers so excited to try! @moonshine thank you for your responses I appreciate all the help I can get on what is now my 6 the year of searching for best Soy wax wick combo!
  21. I have moved an hour away from my c3 source so the gas or shipping would factor in for me as well now. May I ask percentage of oil you use and do you follow the melt and pour temps suggested by american Soy website I bought some from them today to test I have premier rrd and htp cd and eco wicks to play with
  22. Thanks y'all! I did purchase two ten lb bags I hesitated to test before because I can pick up wax at lonestar and not pay shipping but with all the talk of the changing waxes I wanted to try this finally I did get rrd and htp wicks and will try cds too at least then I can say I tested all Soy available to me!it is more expensive and to ship so like picking up my wax but not sure if c3 will be effected like other soys
