  1. I am bumping this are there any millennium Soy wax users out there and if so what type wicks work best with this wax I am looking back through notes and questions I have asked in my search for the best Soy candle I can make and see I have yet to test or hear much about this wax. I have a feeling that one of my favorite candle companies uses this as they show it pictures of a Soy in bead form and the candles they make throw like crazy and burn clean could this be the wax idk
  2. @TallTayl I am very curious about this wax before I move on to possibly a coconut blend I have been testing c3 for years did you like this wax and did it have a good throw?
  3. I hope this is not off subject but I started with c3 then I mixed. 80/20 blend of c3 with ecosoya pillar in order to be able to up fragrance to 10 percent candles did not separate from jar and threw like crazy even a small 4 oz jelly jar filled my downstairs , however the wax had a dark brown ring when dried from the pillar blend and that amount of fo I tried adding whiteners and it was just not acceptable for me the pillar did not make it throw better at 6 percent just allowed me to add more oil without seeping but the candle was not up to par with appearance for selling in boutiques and salons @Trappeur I have been following what you comment on for sometime as your experience and knowledge are wonderful I know you get good throw at 6 percent I have never been happy with throw on any of the 415 444 464 advance 135 I have for 6 years tested them all I am in a large open concept home and buy candles that are Soy that fill this downstairs main living room but I have to have too much oil and an ugly candle in order to get same throw I have used all the wicks have many bags here even tried a bunch of wood wicks I recently was tempted to do a paraffin blend when I went into vet office and one single small paraffin candle filled room then I went to local liquor store again burning a small paraffin with room filling scent. I am very curious how your tests go and thanks for sharing that here. I am realizing with c3 a strong oil like brown sugar fig throws like crazy but pink chiffon will never be strong enough so it is down to working with a small amount of oils that are notoriously strong. I am still trying to find out if c3 has hydrogenated oils as it has not been re blended will it get pulled off market like the ecoysoya brands and reformulated in order to follow the 2018 guidelines or is it not food grade and not in danger I have went through two 50 lb boxes recently that seem the same to me but could be old stock lone star goes through. C3 though as that is always what they reccomed so I doubt it is old stock but I am still trying to find a perfect ratio of wax to oil to wick since 2012.... lol I am like the mad chandler just ranting I never knew it was so hard and so time consuming so interesting and so expensive but I am 6 years deep with tons invested and will figure this out by 2018 to finally roll out my boutique line artwork and packaging have been done for some time maybe I need to accept there is no perfect Soy and give up the eco candle for a blend..... I just don't want to give up there are awesome soy candles out there what Re they doing......
  4. I started testing c3 same year! I bought my last batch 6 weeks ago I notice no difference yet when testing so I wonder if it is just certain batches and has not been changed for 2018 regulations
  5. I was thinking I did not notice a difference and was wondering if it was still yet to come
  6. I bought my last wax 6 weeks ago and for me don't notice a difference with ones I have tested but I am still overwicked so it throws good but too hot but that is a wicking issue
  7. Meant to say undergo.... typing before coffee sorry
  8. after reading all the ecosoya testing nightmare got me to researching as I use c3 and have for 6 years I have sold to antique stores a few salons and Etsy but am rolling out a wholesale boutique line and don't want to use a wax that will be changed.... does anyone know why ecoysoya changed to comply with the 2018 guidelines and golden and c3 have not reformulated? is it because they are not selling to food grade industry and ecoysoya was? I know c3 has hydrogenated oils and so then it would not comply to 2018 guidelines. Is it only effecting companies that also sell food grade oil? I am nervous about rolling out and wax being changed same year. sherry
  9. It was lit 4 hours with a very heavy white pumpkin lilac fragrance oil I may no fragrance and just wax wax I did order eco 1 and have premiers to test but may also order your recommendation to test may I ask why you favor the rrd wicks? I like that they don't Bend and dip into the wax
  10. Thanks all I am really looking to double wick I have tested single and get a much stronger throw faster with double all my packaging and dust covers are for a double and three of my favorite high end candles double wick this container htp 52 not burning hot enough nor is two rrd 29 they cannot reach full melt pool so far the eco 2 doubles is best but still trying to perfect
  11. I have a bag of rrd 29,s and used them when testing a different wax I am pouring with those two htp 52's and trying samples of premiers this week as I just am not feeling good about eco 2,s too messy in my candle I am afraid two cd4 would be too hot and I don't have those on hand here we go again been trying to perfect this jar for sometime I am getting a great throw just messy wick
  12. Had the best luck with the two eco 2 wicks but still not perfect I am worried about what Candle looks like extinguished though as the high end candles I have purchased burn really clean and still get a bit of dark black with the eco 2 I am rolling out a boutique line and have put off till early 2018 as I want mine to be as strong and as clean I have experienced with other soy lines am looking for longer cd to try
  13. Trappeur so sorry I put off testing for a bit I did have much better luck double wicking with Eco 2 and Eco 4 that are 6 inches long at candle science the 2s take two or so burns to reach side to side the 4s get a full melt pool not too deep in the 3-4 hour burn but get hotter last half of candle I am pouring today with the pure series two 510s two 515s and two 525s to see if it burns even better so in ten days I will post I also am no longer adding the pillar blend to the c3 and not getting the ugly gold ring after burning but not sure how c3 will ship in summer I do use 8.5 fragrance so far none of the wicks threw good at 6 percent but 8.5 burns pretty does not seep and is much stronger for my open concept high ceiling home jfear I will try the htp suggestions I am trying to keep the wicks all natural will look into those have not read up on them
  14. I have been using c3 for three years and recently tested cb135 Gb 444 and 464 and cb advanced to see the differences I have tested tons of variations and tons of wicks and still looking to make sure that my c3 is just as good as any Before I roll out a wholesale boutique line. curious if any one here uses the millenium soy and if it is comparable to any I have tested or is it going to be a wax worth me having shipped versus picking up locally? I do not see many posts about this wax but Have heard great things in other areas if you use or have tries millenium I would love to hear your thoughts and if you love it what wicks do you use? thanks!! sherry
  15. Kandlekrazy you are kind to offer but I would need very small sizes to double wick a three inch diameter thanks for turning me on to wick it I did request samples to try a few ones I had not tried yet that helps a bunch!! Most companies are telling me not to double wick the 3 inch but my two favorite soy candle companies double wick the same vessel I know it can be done! So far with ecos and cd and rrd and htp. I am getting one size to hot next size up too cold
  16. Do you mind sharing what cotton wick you use and yes I have bought high end soy with cotton candles that mushroomed and thought nothing of it till I started making candles there is no perfect candle sherry
  17. I started with c3 and used for three years In a square mason jar with large wood wick and got a great throw am rolling out a boutique cotton double wick line in a 12 oz highball glass and double wicking that wax has been killing me so I tried 464 444 cb advanced and cb135 all with ten percent and twenty different types of wick combos and six different wood wicks and .....back to working with c3 the ecosoya advanced is prettiest but I could not get the same throw as c3 I did not like how cb135 Gb 444 and 464 looked after burning I got a pretty good scent throw with 444 and cd wicks but was not happy with throw from advanced 135 or 464 i know a lot say to use 6 percent and cure for ten days I tried that as well I like a strong candle and want my candles to scent just as well as the higher priced boutique soy candles that I enjoyed before candle making I cured a candle for two months in c3 at 6 percent and poured same scent at ten and burned at 24 hours and same wick and the 10 percent filled whole open concept living dining kitchen I could smell at front door the 6 percent that cured for months I could smell in a closed room well or in open concept about two feet away but did not stack up to the competition I want to try the premiers those of you using cotton wicks what brand are you using??
  18. I can't wait to see what your results are I was testing in a 3.25 container and had hard time keeping wicks lit and getting full melt pool when I doubled wicks it burned way too hot
  19. Thanks for your response I am able to ship c3 with ten percent eco pb mix in August heat in texas no problem however I don't like when it burns and resets there is a gold ring in the burned wax I do put ten percent fo and now need to test without fo to see if the ring is from amount of fo or the wax mix but they ship great About 6 percent in c3 I have an open concept living and I poured candles months ago and lit one this week and still nowhere near the throw of the ten percent blend I keep reading where people stick to 6 percent in c3 after a good cure and I wonder if they are testing in open concept the 6 percent throws fine in my master bedroom but not in open concept and so many homes are being built open am I crazy to not be smelling the 6 percent no matter how long I cure I can only smell when within a foot of a 6 percent candle and this was a very strong scent that throws right away within two days at ten percent however the higher percent may be leading to the gold ring I dislike a ten percent candle after a good cure fills my house
  20. I am getting excellent hot throw at ten percent in 135 however the candle does not cure as smooth on the top as c3 and I ship and feel it is too soft to ship in texas summer it is a cosmetic grade wax and can be used in massage candles it is much softer with a lower melt point but mine throw like crazy in a 24 hour cure i am still looking for a beautiful soy that throws well and can be shipped in texas heat
  21. Thanks so much I thought I was wicking smallest size available in a 6 inch and now have many more options to test I appreciate it!!!
  22. Trap sorry I should have been more specific this picture was at 3.5 hours it is a bit over half an inch and this is third burn I burn 4 hours each time so his was almost 12 hours in I feel it is too hot I was thinking this was the lowest size possible to test but am pleased to find out about the wick builder to get lower sizes in a 6 inch so ordering and testing more I did only wait 24 hours to burn cause I was testing for wick and not scent but these threw very well it is cb135 but it will be way to soft for shipping I see on other threads you use 464 and cb3 with 6 percent I pulled out candle that I made 6 months ago in c3 of same scent and smelled the 135 with 10 percent way way better I am just not able to get a good throw with 6 even with curing forever I add heat to 185 add oil at 165 and I have added higher and lower I stir a times 3 minutes with 444 and 135 I can add more oil and smell after 24 hours through whole open concept large ceiling with the c3 I can smell cured for a time in a closed master bedroom but not in living room unless I am right next to it but the 135 and 444 do not make the beautiful candle c3 does I have mixed c3 with pb and it shipped well and it threw amazing at ten percent but when burning it leaves a dark ring in wax not burned I have been doing this for 4 years and am not sure if I am wanting the unachievable a beautiful strong soy that burns pretty and sets up pretty after the burn and ships well in heat lol I test daily like the mad hatter over here thanks for listening/reading
  23. Sorry I should have been more specific this picture was taken at 3.5 hours it is the third burn on these candles when I said reached full melt pool at 25 I meant from side to side of jar I do feel I need to go down a size in wicks at least if not two thanks for looking at it i was wondering if someone had double wicked this before and what they used. I see these double wicked all the time I was unaware of the wick builder I thought I was going lowest size possible for the 6 inch wick and now can continue testing smaller
  24. Thanks so much I was unaware of the wick builder and that will help me immensely in my testing as I appreciate it!
