  1. I cannot find an lx8 in a 6 inch my suppliers only carry it in a 2.5 can you direct me to your supplier? Thanks!!!! I love the look of the cylinder jar but feel the highball will be more likely recycled into a drinking or bar glass thanks for your help!
  2. Are you double wicking and I am mot familiar with a c wick what brand is that thanks for your response!
  3. Trappeur here is a picture of the Libby high ball tumbler is 3.25 wide and total of 4.25 tall filled with 11 oz cb 135 to the left are 2 cd 6 to the right are 2 eco4 both are reaching full melt pool in 25 minutes this is a third burn I am using cb135 with 10 percent of I was using a 8 mason jar with large wood wick and naturewax c3 mixed with a bit of eco pb to harden to ship but the 135 is throwing much stronger and right away just not sure if it will ship I also tried 444 and it thrower much better than c3 but burned very ugly for me I have not tried 464 I do have to consider shipping Has anyone here double wicked these jars I see this jar in boutiques double wicked all the time Thanks in advance all for any suggestions a extra large woodwick upon second burning would not reach a full melt pool with several waxes and fragrance combos the reason I want these jars is they are drinking glasses and I like the whole all natural and recycling for our candle
  4. Hi y'all I am changing jars and am having a crazy time wicking the classic tumbler I was using wood wicks in my mason jars with naturewaxc3 and a bit of eco pb and they burned great every now in then I would have a complaint halfway through wood stopped lighting I am pouring a new boutique line and want a double wick and am testing cb135 I did put in an extra large woodwick and halfway through candle stopped achieving a full melt pool With the double wick for a 3.25 I have tried eco 4 too hot and cd 6 too hot getting full melt pools in 20 minutes all the wicks lower than that are only 2.5 inches I need a 6 inch wick any suggestions I see double wicks in this container from several companies and know it can be done but what are they using?? Thanks!! Sherry
  5. Meant to say cb3 mixed with pillar blend ships better in hot weather is more stable and I love there are no more bubbly burns I heat my mixture to 185 add scent immediately stirring a full 3 minutes it is then cool enough to pour candles and I let it cool to 145 and restrict for tarts I let cool to 175 for any citrus. Blends to not get the burning smell that I see a lot speak and when stirring cut through the wax I pour slow for no air traps hope this helps someone cut out a lot of learning time this is a mix and match of a lot of info I have gathered here and added my own theories to work for me also I cure for 48 hours before I ship or put on shelve in retail location
  6. I finally found for me a blend I am thrilled with for one lb I put .12 cb3 and .4 pb and 1.6 fragrance oil with a large woodwick this gets me two 8 oz square mason jars and one tart I now use the same blend for tarts and containers if I pour mason jar too high Iand get a little crater I heat gun top after 24 hours I have tested my candles against many high end candles and after two years of testing am thrilled with this combo tarts last a full three days and candles fill large living area there are no bubbles wax burns so clean and pretty I do not use dye the cb3 ships better is more stable in hot weather finally thrilled
  7. Do you ever find yourself using more than 1 oz pp on some FO's? Thanks for your input!!
  8. I think it is time to get a presto pot! I did temper last night and let it get almost hard as I poured a bit in different pots for different flavors, I only added 8.5 to one batch of pink sugar, I see from your previous post IMC that you let this cure for 3 weeks so I am gong to try that. One more question when searching back in 11 you used an additive or two. Are you now using any additives with C3? I do not use color if that helps. All my candles that I poured last night don't have any cratering/rough tops this morning at the 125 pour so I am thrilled with that. Thanks again!!
  9. Thanks again IMC!! , I will definitely wait to heat gun I probably did heat gun those before 24 hours was up I did not temper so will do more testing with tempering, Sherry
  10. C3 is the only wax I have used and with 1 0z pp I have not had leaking/sweating out issues but when I upped to 8.5 as some other chandlers do here I had major leaking/sweating issues it was a disaster. Wondering how others are able to use a higher percentage in this wax, I am adding F0 at 180 and pouring anywhere from right away to 125 I have ran the gamut and like 160 best. Also I used a warm vanilla sugar and only used 1 0z PP and it sweated out the top, I wonder if it is the heavier oils as I only had trouble with Kudzu, Warm Vanilla Sugar, and the lavender apple and lavender sage Those of you that are adding 8.5 to C3 how are you doing it with no seepage? I don't temper as I thought this was for looks only wonder if that is the difference? Thanks
  11. How did that work out for you?? I am really searching for a good vanilla! Would love to hear how yours did.
  12. Reporting back that I did not get a great ht with Warm Vanilla Sugar after two week cure, 16 oz with 1 0z fragrance poured in a Heritage Mason jar with C3 and Eco 10 wick, it will smell good in small bathroom that is it, I am off to order Very Vanilla. I am going to try the warm vanilla sugar in tarts with 10 percent FO as I use a C3/pillar blend mix of 50/50 and can add more oil hope that works so I can use up the 8 oz bottle, I love the scent just does not throw strong enough for me for my candles.
  13. I am still waiting for it to cure it has been one week i am giving it two it smells wonderful Cold, however using just one oz per pound I have sweating on the top of the candle with my C3, I have had that happen when I tried to do 8.5 but not before with one oz PP.
  14. I have French vanilla and poured two sixteen oz mason jars using c3 heated to 180 added fragrance poured at 140 did not smell much at all after one week. Lit the other after 4 weeks and it has a very nice throw in my bedroom but not filling a living room area. I do love the smell. I got a warm vanilla sugar from lodestar and want to try the very vanilla from CS. Hope you can get a throw with a longer cure.
  15. I have only been chandling for a couple of months, I have been trying and trying to get a better HT, got a decent one but was trying with C3 to get better......I am also making tarts. Today I got two burners in the mail from Irvin's punched tin really cute high quality burners for a great price, and there were samples of tarts in the box, so I thought well I am going to see how my tarts stack up to these, I put a laundry day in sunroom and a carrot cake in living room went to pick up my daughter and when I came back the hot throw was so strong that I felt ill, I am not sure what kind of wax etc. , I appreciate the gift and the burners are wonderful, but I think I have decided that my HT is just right, I literally had to dump these out remove the trash bag from the house type loaded scent like I can taste it in my mouth still, maybe my taste has changed over the years to more zen scents than food etc. or maybe I just want a pleasant background scent and not smack me in the face when I walk in the door?? Anyway it made me happy with the C3 1 0Z PP kinda throw, no more searching to make em stronger. This girl is now happy with what I have been doing the last few months!!
  16. Thanks RJ Daines for your input, yes for shows I am sure you start pouring way ahead! I did just for kicks and giggles pour a 50/50 mix PB and C3 Today will burn in a few days PB can take a 12 percent load and C3 6 per my suppliesr and her an 8.5 as most say is tops I poured it 12 percent in a 4 oz jelly jar with an eco 10........it looks beautiful and cold throw is so good I want to eat it, used Kudzu scent, I do have another kudzu with 8.5 and c3 only to test the two against eachother in different rooms, of course in a few days i may see that the mix is pulling away from glass so will have to see how it goes just had to give it a try as I want an all soy candle but with a really strong throw
  17. I am wondering if the longer cure time is specific to certain waxes I know reading the posts of the people using C3 seems to me they are all curing for 1-3 weeks depending on fragrance, I do have some that throw right away well in just a few days so I guess you are saying when you find those for you system those are the keepers and you dont bother with the ones you have to wait on? I am going to test all theories with c3, I do know that my favorite soy candle, I just found out was a soy blend after I started making my own paddywax is very popular here and it is a blend they say a kitchen grade paraffin or cooking grade paraffin all of their scents are amazing Hot and cold however they use all the very strong scents that I noticed my lavender apple is very strong and will throw I know it will strongly right away......oatmeal milk and honey may not make it in the soy I will test and see if it does improve in c3 over time Thanks so much for you input love all the feedback!
  18. Thanks for the input! Wondering if you use C3? I am going to take a few an light at one week two weeks test your theory and may decide not to use the ones that take more than a week to cure , there is so much more involved than what I thought when I walked into lonestar candle supply with the idea that I am going to make candles! It is a fun journey though I do have a problem of wanting to pour daily hope it is just beginners excitement and that I am not addicted to chandling........
  19. How was the hot throw after a month? my cold throw is good from day 1 it is the hot throw I am hoping improves alot with curing
  20. I had wrote I used cinnamon stix but that is incorrect it is Harvest type Lonestar, I used ten percent I still smell well at hour 16 but it is starting to become weaker instead of smelling from another room I smell only in the room it is in, I am not sure how strong a tealight warmer is I always use an electric. I am sure this is a very strong scent I will try an oatmeal milk and honey today and see if it is strong and for how long.
  21. My cold throw is great right away but the hot throw needs more time how long have yours been curing now and am curious about your hot throw. I remember my first batch thinking heck I can leave one open in bathroom and smell it better than when I burn it but that was when I was using 1 oz per lb and pouring at 160 I change to the 8.5 percent and pouring at 125 and can get a way better HT even in just a two day cure but set the rest to cure for two weeks cannot wait!
  22. I did not cure tart put in burner yesterday after it hardened as I could not wait so a week or so cure time not sure how much stronger it will be but I burned 4 hours yesterday immediate awesome scent throw, has been going since I woke up this morning so I am now at 12 hours and I can go outside come back in the kitchen and the burner is sitting in living room and I smell when walking through outside door......amazing.....so I should have tested one but for the large space I have always burned two melts from scentsy so wanted to test the same way as I burned in the past....I am thrilled at this point will be testing patchoulli, and Oatmeal milk and honey in near future as soon as this one fades. What is the normal time on a tart melt??? I love tart melt making working out well, now to get the candle to smell this strong and I will be a happy girl (using all soy so hoping with IMC's instructions and a two week cure that I will be happy, I have gotten a big improvement using IMC's instructions and only giving a two day cure my 8 oz jelly jar using only c3 and Kuzu is scenting my entire sunroom a 200 square foot space!)
  23. Good advice!! You are right if I like the one in two days pretty darn good then in two weeks I will probably love it I need to be patient, I do love the blend for the tarts it is smelling my living room and kitchen in one burner not even cured but melts are easier than candles! I will wait I am determined to keep it all soy I will wait! Thanks again IMC! Sherry
