1. I have never tried goats milk soap...I might have to buy a bar.....
2. That wasn't a good episode. Now I know why I don't watch them.
3. I made less this year as expected, but I was hoping I would still make a profit. So far I did make about $2000.00 less than last year but that is ok. I changed my product line so my costs weren't so much. I am happy I made money at all my shows. Now I can pay off my credit cards. Yesterday was my last show and alot of people didn't make any money, but their prices were high. People didn't want to spend alot of money this year and they proved it by not buying from vendors that had high priced items. It is tough out there....
4. I purchased the display from a store that sells store fixtures locally. You might want to call around and see if you have one in your area.
5. Those are cute. Where do you live in Idaho.. I live in Meridian. Good to see another fellow Idahoan...
6. I punch a hole on the lid of the container so people can smell the scent. I make soy melts and people are always breaking the melts. I hate it. Kids are the worst at opening them.
7. I really like your presentation...
8. Here is what I use to display my clamshells. It took awhile to be able to afford this display but it has been worth every penny. I adjust it to how many clamshells I have and this weekend was my last show of the year finally, so that was all I had, plus I had limited space, so I used a triangle shape. Now I can start on shopping and baking. santa wink
9. I make them and use flaxseed. You can also use rice, but I find them to be heavier than flaxseed and the rice tends to burn easier. You can also add dried herbs but I only use lavender. Good luck.
10. Just pour until the clamshell is full.
11. As of this week I have two shows left. This is the first weekend I have no shows, but I needed it. I am tired.
12. The ones I have done I had to have samples on the table and my product in cases to sell because retailers show up and want to buy right there. Make sure you have your license and insurance. I had to prove that I carried 5 mil. liability which is what my retailers wanted. So just make sure you have product ready to buy at the show. Good Luck!
13. Alot of shows are starting earlier because of complaints from the craftservers so all the shows I would have normally booked are now booking on the same weekends. Now I have to decide which show makes more money which has been tough because I make pretty close to the same amount. I have noticed people are really watching their money this year and not spending as much. It is really tough to make a sale.
14. I am so relieved.....She viewed my old websites that are still around on the web. She accepted them and apologized and hoped that I wasn't offended. I just told her I understand. But with all of everyone's great ideas I am going to video and take pics. so there won't ever be any misunderstanding. I really think the lady next to me complained because we both had potpourri and she didn't want the competition. I was nice to her but she just turned her nose up at my stuff. It was ridiculous she was new to the show and told everyone she grew her own rosehips (possible, but I don't think so) there was bins full of them and harvested them all year. I know for a fact since we have all seasons you can't harvest rosehips all year. Around here the only time you can pick them is in Sept/Oct. before they freeze.... I don't ever want to be near her again. She only took the spot because the lady that has that spot was sick.
15. I think the best thing to do is test to see if it works for you without any problems. I add spices to some of my tarts and never had a problem, but I sprinkle them lightly. Good luck!
16. I just finished my craftshow that I have been selling at for the passed 6 years and the people that run the show accused me of buying my products from a manufacturer and reselling them. I bought new displays this year and my booth looks a lot better for the limited space I have, but I didn't think my stuff looked so good that somone would think my stuff is manufactured and not handmade. I am so blown away. I sent the ladies that run the craftshow my old websites that are still out there. I don't know if I am mad or flattered that my products look that good. What else can I do to prove my products are made by me. I don't want them to kick me out of the show next year.. Help.....
17. You're sweet Shirlee... Blessings to you as well!
18. I make my own and sell it. I am at work right now and can't post a pic. but I sell them $5.00 a bag. There is a bit of competition out there at the shows I do so I keep my prices low. My bags are about 2 cups. If I have alot of room at the shows I will sell my the scoop and place my potpourri in big bins and sell it that way. I sell by the scoop for $5.00 and people usually buy at that price. If it goes up over that amount people aren't too willing to buy. Good luck.
19. I am curious how everyone displays their clamshells? Any ideas are greatly appreciated......
