  1. I have tested it in S1 (i know its discontinued) and it did not throw as well as I wanted at first, but after about four weeks cure time a 3" 8 oz jar could throw well in kitchen and living room. It wasn't the strongest scent, but you could still smell it. I only used 6% load (1 oz per lb) also, so perhaps 9-10% with four week cure should strengthen it up a bit. I just ordered 16 oz bottle of it from Peaks and will test some in Mill Creek's soy I'm testing, as well as in my Christmas present project in the S1.
  2. I just bought 10 lbs each of their soy (container and pillar/votive) wax to test. It was pretty reasonable to ship, 25 lb package was only $10.00 UPS ground. Haven't tested it yet, since I just received it thu last week. I'll test this wax for my possible spring sales, and am using up a bunch of S1 I have already tested, and will use for Christmas gifts. Hope someone else has tried it. You might want to try a search in the Archived site for that. I definitely want it to work, it is only 37.50 per 50 lb box! Good luck!
  3. I like your stuff man. We guys need to stick together!
  4. Excellent job. It must be tough to get the stallion to stay put
  5. I can understand remelting the green one, but the blue one is a keeper
  6. Your candles are very nice, and your English is very good too! Welcome
  7. Nice looking meltdown candles! Mine just look horrible and smell worse, so I use them for firestarters.
  8. But this the year for the Colts! Now I have to make one with a blue horseshoe!
  9. Those are the sweeeeetest pillars I've ever seen. I hope mine come out only half as nice as those!
  10. Great first effort, you will be a pro in no time!
  11. Very nice stuff there. Good luck at your show! Go get 'em killer!
  12. I like the idea of the bleach bottle, but probably for an outdoor luminary. You did a great job on the embed though! Keep it up and you'll be as good as Donita!
  13. Very nice precise layers on the dragonfly candle! Very handsome.
  14. I have tried them too but have used scrap wax and clear paraffin to test technique. Yours are pretty cool!
  15. You definitely have a talent for 'canes, and are beautiful to boot! You definitely need to use at least a 4" mold, and preferably a 5". I have a 4" with an insert and as long as I use tea lights with plastic cups centered exactly in middle, it works fine. I want to get a nice tall 5" to work with next.
  16. I'm going out on a limb and guess Monkey Farts.
  17. That is pretty cool, looks just like stew! Where's my spoon?
  18. Hey Melody, I have one and enjoy it very much. You definitely cannot go by the dial, however what I do is hang my thermometer in the wax, and let it level out to the temp it happens to be at. If it were 180, I would turn up the knob just a little till the light kicked on the thermostat, then wait for a few more minutes to level off, then check the temp again. When I reached the temp I wanted, I took a white marker and made a reference mark on the dial and thermostat so I could set it back to the right mark after shutting it off.
  19. I too have purchased from candlechem when I first started ab 6 months ago. Have not tried his FO but I may have to. I actually bought my first FO's from Gemlite and was pretty happy with three out of six. Their French Vanilla was VERY strong! I haven't tried all my FO samples from Peak's yet, but three out of four I tried I like alot.
  20. That reminds me, I need to get a fire extinguisher. Glad nothing got really messed up.
  21. Congrats! Like a college professor told me once, "At the very edge of frustration is where learning occurs."
  22. Yes we enjoy each other's expertise. Welcome and don't forget>>> better candles through power tools!
