ladysj
I'm getting back into soaping & I have some colloidal oatmeal. Just wondering if anyone has a prreference over the other if so your results & how much colloidal would I use. I figured about a tbsp pp.
Kitn
I use a TBSP PPO of the colloidal oatmeal. I have tried the other kind and it is way to scratchy. I have ground it too in a coffee grinder, still to scratchy.
JanetsCandles
Would you mix the colloidal oatmeal in with the rest of the oils at the start or at trace?
ChrisR
I always use the colloidal oatmeal at 1 tsp./lb. of oils. To me 1 TBS. was just too much!
Candybee
Whats the dif between regular and colloidal oatmeal? I don't think I've seen the colloidal. Where do you get it from?
jenn624
I prefer the colloidal oatmeal, regular is just too rough. I add about 1/2 tbs ppo at trace. Colloidal oatmeal is ground super duper fine, and I got mine from WSP (before their prices went all wonky)
Candybee
Couldn't you just use baby cereal oatmeal if you want a soft oatmeal?
JanetsCandles
Colloidal oatmeal is supposed to help retain moisture, Candybee. It's the same stuff used in Aveno brand products. It's supposed to be silky smooth, no exfoliating to it. I think baby oatmeal is pureed first, then heavily dried. It smells different too. soycrazy
I read it's just oat flour finely ground oats correct? Edited February 10, 2012 by soycrazy
