Stupid color/scent help...

Recommended Posts

I have my pillars on consignment at a Tuscany home furnishings store. They're selling very well, however...I'm stumped.

I love the fact that I can color candles any color I want, however, I've noticed if the scent doesn't "match" the color, the people get confused! And they won't buy them (blue pillars in cinnamon really throws them off) LOL

I need some scent suggestions to go with reds and oranges that are NOT fruity or bakery. (besides cinnamon, amish harvest, pumpkin spice, blackberry sage)

Any and all suggestions are welcome because I'm tired of doing the same ones and want to throw some new things in the store! TIA!!

What about your pomegrante and orange? Or even just pomegrante?

There are many tea choices too.

Tuscan Nights

Cranberry scents (maybe closer to fall)

Apple jack & peel

fruit slices

Raspberry

mandarin plum

Heck you probably have 1,000 oils to choose from, but those were some off the top of my head.

What about your pomegrante and orange?

The lady I used to buy it from is pretty much out of business. I've sent the oil to be duped so I'm stingy with what I have left.

Plus, I'm trying to stay away from fruity. Seems the fruity scents aren't selling as well as the "heavier" type scents. The strawberry musk is doing well, but it's not super fruity.

I've done Tuscan Nights too. I've renamed it to Tuscan Sunset to do oranges, but I want to do some new scents. Tired of the same ones...

Thanks for the input everyone...

What about adding a little cinnamon to Green Tea (or any tea FO) and calling it Cinnamon Tea.

I haven't tried any wine scents but could see a deep red candle in a wine scent. That may be too fruity for what you want.

Jasmine - works in any color for me

Asian Sandalwood - I could see it as a light orangey red

Country Garden - You could call it Tuscan Gardens color bright red or orange

Afraid I'm not very creative. Good Luck

Here are a few suggestions.

Spiced Cranberry

Asian Plum

Pomegrante

Mandarin Plum

Cherry Cheesecake (I know, no sweet scents! but just in case..I make this one red, orange and brown)

Birds of Paradise

Now's a good time to buy some of those uniquely named scents that don't imply any color (like Satin Sheets - I make it a different color everytime).

I just say you rename the scents. Except you cant really change the name of cinnamon. Funny, I would always get frustrated before I made candles that all the scents I liked didnt match anything in my house.

Renaming doesn't really help. The "smell" needs to match the color. The people that shop in this store are sorta, well...snobs. LOL

Thanks for the suggestions everyone!

Meredith, I'm loving the orange clove idea. Thank you!!!
