Smokin'Hot
Ok, not too sure where I went wrong with these. I used 1343 with 3 tbls stearic, color chip and scent. The mold was cool and I poured at 150. I wanted rustic but got mottled. Maybe too much fo, cuz they did have some seepage. Any suggestions? Thanks
chopsgirl
no suggestions but I think they turned out nice.
ladysj
No suggestions either but they look GREAT!!
topofmurrayhill
They did come out good. Maybe it's your thermometer. They look like they were poured a little too warm to "rusticize". Also a lot of people pour rustics in layers. When you pour the whole candle at once the wax might need to be a few degrees cooler. The mottling is really nice though. They're bound to seep a little when mottling.
Donita
The mottles look great.......I agree with Top....pouring it all at once won't let it cool quickly......it was just warm and cozy and refused to get a little frost....but again....great looking mottles. Scented
And what type of mold you poured in. Like if that was a tin mold, it probably heated up more than aluminum.
Smokin'Hot
Thanks so much everyone for the compliments and the suggestions! I'll try to pour even cooler than the 150, and I think that I will try pouring (after sloshing) a little slower too. Thanks again everyone! Billie
Not what you wanted, but I think they are beautiful.
Aspencreek
I would try pouring at 140, they look really good though.
jes432
Cooler should definitely help. I use 1343 and have to pour very cool to get it rusticized.
Crafty1_AJ
Aw gee, bummer. That happened to me once recently. I got impatient and poured a little too warm. They still do look very interesting though! Pretty, even if not what you were aiming for!
Kaybee23
I agree, may not be rustics, but they look very nice.

judyvega
Pretty mottles, anyhow. I know it's disappointing when you don't get what you go for. Good luck next time!
diamondk
They do look very nice even though it wasn't what you were going for.
