Before Donita and her crackle method, all of these would have been sent back to the pot for surface flaws... pits... lost frost etc. Instead, I plunged them into 200 degree water and then a pitcher of water with lots of ice per Donita, and voila! Thanks Donita! You have done been a tremendous help by sharing this technique.

They looked like utter crap before! Donita, this is so awesome except hubby gets really pissed when I take all the ice! I look forward to your experiment, if you choose to share. Never again will I repour or keep just for me unless it cracks.

I have 3 refrigerators.....one in "the house" one downstairs for beer and veggies and one in the studio for ice and to cool molds. Guess I am lucky. Also have a huge freezer in the basement. I have lots of room for ice, but bad thing is.......Virginia has a lot of power outages .....so when that happens...it really makes my life a mess......LOL Donita

Great looking pillars. Hard to believe they were rejects. Wonder if putting bottles filled with frozen water in a pail of water would work instead of ice. My DH has our freezer full of gatorade bottles he uses for the coolers when fishing. May try it on some votives.
