Gypsyjen
http://www.coalcreekcandlecompany.com/TIPS%20&%20INFORMATION1.htm:lipsrseal Not only are they perpetuating the "triple load fragrance" crap, they are also ENCOURAGING people to stick their fingers into their candles and use it as a lotion. Since when was candle wax considered "vitamin-rich"???
Kassandra
Feeling dry and scaly? Simply dip your fingers into some good ol hot wax! aAhhh....
Gypsyjen
Heh, wait 'til someone's kid burns down the house or lights themselves on fire because they saw mommy & daddy playing with candles. It doesn't even tell you to extinguish the flame first.
Candle Makin Momma
Someone brought that up to me last weekend. I was like, Oh heck no, it's a candles, not a lotion!
Candle Man
There has been so much talked about this, just read this http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31487&highlight=lotion+candle
Gypsyjen
Thanks, I've seen the lotion candle threads, I've just never seen a website actually encourage people to stick their hands in their (still burning?) candles - with levels of FO most likely too high to safely apply on the skin. Lugnut
Well their candles have a "triple load" of "body safe" fragrance and are pure and natural. You could probably eat it also. Maybe we can get them to do a demonstration.:rolleyes2
jldorrington
you mean its not safe to stick your fingers into hot wax and rub it into your hands???? is that what i have 3rd degree burns on my hands now? wish i would have known this sooner. why don't people ever tell you that hot wax burns?ok when did common sense go out the window its melted wax. it has a flame. Kassandra
Seriously, what is the average temp in the melt pool? And what would be too hot? (Disregard the friggin FIRE in the middle)
sassy-girl
You CANNOT "triple load wax" and also make it skin safe....The stats of every fragrance co i have come up would agree
sassy-girl
if you were to assume that .5 oz wax was norm, to triple it would be 1.5, so therefrore the same amount in a gallon of lotion would be 12 ounces of fo in lotion
katie
I have soy candles and my wax does not get that hot either, I tested it just for my own personal knowledge but I would never encourage anyone to use it as a lotion. And once I blew out one of my candles and my husband went to the jar and he didn't notice it had been lit and turned it upside down and it wasn't very hot at all he just didn't like the smell (baby powder). It was sort of funny. But I agree with such a large amount of oil it could irritate the skin. I would never put that much oil in a custom scented lotion. Hope
Since when was candle wax considered "vitamin-rich"??? Perhaps it was enriched with a good nutritional supplement... like a Flintstone's vitamin.

Stella1952
If one is concerned about another site misinforming people about using soy wax as a lotion, wouldn't it be more helpful to contact the owner(s) of the site and express your concern to them rather than talking about how "stupid" they are here? so-soy
Wow, they actually state their candles are the most "pure & natural" candles you can buy...ummm..someone is truly misinformed here, and is doing some major false advertising...they say they use fragrance oils right there on the page, but think they have "pure & natural" candles...sorry, not when you are using fragrance oils and dye...ain't nothing "pure & natural" about them except the soy wax...and that is no longer 'pure & natural' anymore either..it has the fo and dye in it!!! santa eek
