  1. Those are very nice. But now I have to go and figure out what "Glass Glow" is.:smiley2:
  2. Those are great. I like them all.
  3. That's going to make newbies think making candles is easy and fast. It'll sell some product for them but their going to have some ticked off customers.
  4. That is really great work. Thanks for posting it.
  5. I use the Colonial jars listed under "Our Products" below in 10oz and 16oz but have made quite a few with the larger 26oz. They burn about the same all the way down but I do double wick them. Actually I double wick them all and put the wick closer together than some I've seen. Mainly to keep them away from the sides around the mouth. These jars are pretty tough and can take alot of heat. I've used my heat gun on them with no problems. Although it's not suggested you try it to see how long they'll last. A hot jar that breaks makes a pretty nasty mess and can burn you quickly. http://www.fairwayglass.us/
  6. Thanks for the nice comments. Their always encouraging.
  7. Thanks for the nice comments. Hi Tanya, it's Christmas so it was time for a Christmas tree. Bruce, you made some of the nicest looking carvings I've ever seen. To bad you stopped but understandable (I think).
  8. Thanks Stella1952, they look like they would be fun to make. I'm gonna have to go searching now.
  9. I like those. I do a second pour on my Soy containers so the tops always look nice but they would add a nice touch. I wouldn't want the scented ones though because they probably wouldn't match the candles FO very well.May have to try those one day.
  10. I have no idea what a baloon hurricane is but they look real good, great job.
  11. That's really nice and different. I'm use to the usual green and red but white really stands out.
  12. I only have 67, maybe 68 post now. 100 might be a long way off.
  13. Looks good for 1 1/2 hours. Give it around 4 hours to see what it does.
  14. I don't add any paraffin to my soy. The wax could be 100 percent Soy and stated as such. The candle isn't 100 percent soy though because of the additives. I shoud add that Soy isn't natural either because it is farmed. Everything from fertilisers to pesticides change it's make up so it's not close to natural. If it was grown organically that could be a claim but it still wouldn't be natural.
  15. Crappy, diarrhea on top, flakey, piece of crap product. Are you angry? That might be considered bashing Soy candles, I could be wrong. Not true. That would be thought of as bashing Soy to promote your parafin products. Now take a deep breath and relax, all this whining about Soy, sheesh.
  16. I never tried a Yankee candle but they look good. Their prices are right up there also so I assumed they were a good candle. Must be all the marketing they do?
  17. I use 1343 for mottles and rustics both. If the wax is sticking to the sides of the jar that's not what it is. It will pull away from the sides when it cools. It will do it evenly so it will look good. Most container waxes adhere to the sides from what I know. But I make my containers out of soy. I believe the melt point is 138%. It is definatly a 2 pour wax, it shrinks alot especially if poured hot to make it Mottle.
  18. I feel victimized, really. Look at all the dreadful things said about Soy and then throw in all the exagerations about Soy. With all the confusion it's a miracle anyone can even sell a Soy candle anymore. Wait a minute......................I sell Paraffin Pillars. With all the bashing of paraffin wax and the horrible stories of lung cancer and then topping it off with all the claims of Soy people it's a wonder anyone can sell a paraffin candle anylmore. Tess, did I whine enough for you? I would truly like to know the advantages of Paraffin containers over Soy. So far the Soy look better and have a better appeal. So whats the difference?
  19. I don't do a good twister. I just call em like I see em. What I see is those who do not sell Soy candles are loosing sales due to the sales tactics of some who do. That equates to who is doing the better advertising of their product.(some would call it lying) I have never had to advertise or make up sales fliers or anything else because it has all been done for me by others. I have no need to educate people on the intricasies of wax making. All I put up is "Soy Candles" and people whether or not correctly informed buy them. Inpart because their Soy but mainly due to their color and FO. They look good and smell good so people want them. If they burn correctly that's just a plus because they come back for more. But attempting to state Soy isn't this or doesn't do that or will do something else will not help anyone sell a candle or the same about paraffin. Like those who sell Soy, they pump up their product and all it's benefits whether exagerated or not and it has worked very well. Albeit sad that some of the hype is complete bull. But alot of it is truth that has been exagerated. Thats what most advertisers do, pump up their selling points. That's what those who don't sell Soy candles should be doing also. Pumping up their products positive points and not worrying about Soy candle makers. But everyone has an opinion and some are stronger than others and some make it a mission to let their opinion be known. After reading this entire thread I have not changed my opinion on Soy and paraffin one little bit. If I could see the positives in Paraffin that might change. So far all I've seen is the negatives about Soy advertisements and claims. Those things don't change opinions they just lead to more questions and then to a who cares attitude. People don't want or have a need to worry about all those things candlemakers worry about. They just want something that serves their purpose. Some thing like a great smelling candle that burns right and is hastle free. If your product does exactly as it should customers will return time and time again and in the process of repeat sales they can be gently taught the truth of all candle products. But slamming them with all the negatives and "facts" in fliers and counter claims won't accomplish anything. They'll just walk away because your not offering them any advantages of buying your product. It's like going on an interview. You never talk bad about your last boss no matter how weird he was. It'll be taken negatively even if it's the truth. You can't sell yourself or your product by attempting to give the facts about your competition. People don't want to hear it. That's my 1/2 cents worth. I know it's probably worth even less.
  20. Looks like were still bashing Soy................I mean Paraffin.:undecided
  21. Top could you provide a link to where that is found. I have never read that or heard of most of the claims. Looks odd to me. Personally I promote my candles very little. I make them as good as I can and people like them so they want more. For me it's about the fun in making them and seeing a nice product when I'm done. It also makes the house smell good. Now, Back to bashing.
