  1. Here's the Wiki entry on Diacetyl, if that's helpful. I hope it's not Snowtop. I love their Creme Brule.
  2. That notice has been there since at least September of 2006. My guess is that it's not coming back.
  3. Well, that's good to know. Thanks for the update! Guess I'll try emailing her again on Monday. :undecided
  4. Has anyone ordered anything from them lately? I placed an order Labor Day weekend and it still hasn't shipped according to the order tracking on the site (although my card was charged early last week). Emailed her yesterday and have still received no response. This is my first order with her so any feedback would be appreciated.
  5. In all seriousness, that is one bad burn for a $20 candle.
  6. I've never tried this place, but they're just outside Orlando.
  7. I vote for Mill Creek's Sugar Cookie. Sells very well here and throws awesome hot and cold.
  8. 44c seems really big for what is essentially a votive. Have you tried any of the CD or LX series? Maybe a CD8 or an LX20 to start?
  9. The last time I picked up an order there they had a glass glow candle sitting unlit on the counter. Blueberry or blackberry (no label, dark blue). Nice cold throw, pretty candle. Morris does case minimums (IOW, nothing less than 50 lbs). The pillar palms come in bags of 55lbs, but I don't know about the glass glow. I also agree with Mexitan that they are super nice people to work with; friendly, informative, and they have always gone the extra mile for me. Carol, they are at 500 N. National Street in Springfield MO - just south of Chestnut Expy. ETA: They also have a location at 1910 Armour Road in North Kansas City, MO, although I've not been to that one personally.
  10. Update: Got the oils today (7 business days after ordering). Haven't put any of them in wax yet, but I just want to DRINK the Cinnabon Cinnamon Rolls out of the BOTTLE!! All of the samples were in 2oz glass bottles, packaged in bubble wrap. Very nice. I'll update more after I put them to wax.
  11. Maybe Candle Cocoon's Scent Event? $12 a pound.
  12. BCN's "closeout" FO's are $10. I've tried some that are fabulous, and some that were pretty weak, and several in between. Some of Gelluminations' FO's are in the $10 range during their frequent sales. I have not tried them, though.
  13. Every oil I've bought from them so far has been off the classies here. I did place an order with them Friday night (after hours) so we'll see how that goes. I'm happy to update as things progress, though.
  14. Are you talking about scent-forum.com? I didn't notice that they got a lot of bad reviews, on the contrary they seemed to get quite a few good reviews (what there were of them for RA, anyway; there's tons unrated). I've tried their Sweet Musk and their Sweet Milk for shampoo and lotion bases and both are really, really good. I'll be moving on to candles here right quick with what I have to see if they're a good crossover for that, too.
  15. Edit: DPS is on Armour Road in Kansas City. Here's their website if that helps.
  16. I am shocked that there isn't a wax supplier in the NOLA area. All those refineries on the LA coast, and an IGI in Baytown TX (near Houston).
  17. Somewhat off-topic, but if the letters on the screen are too small for you and you have Windows and a mouse with a "wheel" on it, you can make the letters larger or smaller by pressing the "Ctrl" key while spinning the wheel on your mouse.
  18. Don't feel stupid, that's how I do it as well...with a rubber plug under the mold poking upwards. I set the mold on a 6oz tin for stability. No problems as long as I make sure the pin is seated correctly. Of course I'm just a hobbyist when it comes to pillars, and now that I've admitted to doing it this way (even with 200* palm wax) I will get spillage after spillage, I am sure.
  19. Completely depends on the FO. 9-11% is the max load. I've been knocked out the door with as little as 4-5% with some fragrances in this wax, and poor performance with up to 10% with others. I usually start in the 1oz per pound (of 444 wax) range, though. Seems to be a good spot to begin.
  20. Maybe you do. I am finding palm to be a challenge to wick. Although I finally found a use for the CSN 14's. Patchouli, 3" palm pillar, 4-5 hour burns. Heavy stuff, man.
  21. Nanna's. Ships first class; excellent service, packs of as few as 25 in any size for the same price as the big guys.
