monkeybritches
They are beautiful! I have not had much luck making those kind. I've tried a couple of times but can't get it right. What's your secret?
eugenia
They are beautiful! I have not had much luck making those kind. I've tried a couple of times but can't get it right. What's your secret? Timing and swishing. 150 degrees for all layers but the last.Pour a layer, twirl the mold in your hand so that the wax splashes upwards, then set the mold down (I use a pan filled with dried beans). Pour the next layer when the first is starting to set up, but not totally firm. You can use 15 minutes as an estimate for when to pour the next, depending on the thickness of the layer. I typically have 6 or more per candle for a 3 x 5 pillar. Do the same twirling with each layer.Poke relief holes when the final layer is setting up. I often do these at night and do the final pour in the morning, at 180 degrees and unmold hours later. Level the mold before the final pour and you should be good to go.HTH,e

eugenia
E..as i've said before...you are definately the rustic QUEEN!!!! I love everything you do! BUT...why a pan of dried beans??I use that to angle the mold. Easy, cheap and works perfectly.
