cybersix Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Thanks to Mozzie!!! She came visit me (what a lovely person!!) and she broght me some palm wax to try. This is a 3x3 pillar made with cloudy (I guess it's crystallizing) palm wax, scented spring rain (again, thanks to Mozzie!). The color was jade, but this wax makes all colors lighter! Quote
cybersix Posted July 29, 2006 Author Posted July 29, 2006 and this is a 3x3 pillar made with "granite" palm wax, scented patchouli Rose and colored with orchid. Thanks for looking! Quote
Kaybee23 Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Beautiful candles, great job. I love palm, but it is not the easiest to wick. Quote
cybersix Posted July 29, 2006 Author Posted July 29, 2006 thanks! For now I follow Mozzie's advice, she uses 36 ply FB, so now I'm testing with it the second candle. It burns only from 40 minutes ago, but for now everything seems right! What wick do you use? Quote
judyvega Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Very pretty, Sabrina - I'm too scared to try palm wax due to the wicking issues, but I love the looks of it! Quote
cybersix Posted July 29, 2006 Author Posted July 29, 2006 Very pretty, Sabrina - I'm too scared to try palm wax due to the wicking issues, but I love the looks of it!yes, i love the look very much, I'm seraching for a way to buy some palm wax somewhere, but it's really hard for me!Thank you! Quote
Henryk Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Perfect !You picked a good height too IMO. Pouring 3x3 or 3x4 (or 3x3.5 or 3x4.5) should give you a good looking palm candle even as it burns to the bottom. (I used to use LXs in my palms but haven't made them in a while). Quote
Everito Bandito Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Aha! Very nice - love them both - way to go sabrina and mozzie. :smiley2: Quote
CDGM Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Great job! I just poured my first votives with palm it is some neat wax for sure! Quote

dcroome2005 Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 Very pretty, Sabrina - I'm too scared to try palm wax due to the wicking issues, but I love the looks of it!Oh come on Judy- you make gorgeous candles. They are not that hard to wick, I promise. It's rumors that many have a hard time, but trust me, you can nail it with a few wicks :-) Quote
bugsb1 Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 Sabrina Very nice, almost makes me want to try pillars. Quote
cybersix Posted July 31, 2006 Author Posted July 31, 2006 You have to try them! They are not so difficult.. when they do what you want.I find containers more difficul and challenging, but since I don't like them so much I don't bother.Thank you! Quote
grandmaskitchen Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 Beautiful candles! I absolutely love the colors, too! Quote
Fern Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 Very, very nice! If you have trouble with the wicking on those...RRD wicks work great in palm wax. For a three inch candle you can use either a RRD-47 or 50. Quote
Aspencreek Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 Love them. I really like the colors!!!! Nice work. Quote
