strugglebrother
I'm looking at joining either Soapguild or Indiebusiness network for the benefits of their insurances. Are any of them better for candle makers and what are your thoughts about both of them in general?
kandlekrazy
Pretty sure Soapguild is the one that does not cover candles at all. Also I believe you have to gross under $5k a year to insure with them. I looked into them a while back, maybe some changes have happened since. It was less expensive than Indie but like I said did not cover candles.
TallTayl
Have used handmade cosmetic and soap guild for 7 years. It pays for itself in my office supply savings alone. They DO cover candles and soap. No max earnings cap. Check their pages for a comprehensive list of coverages. A dear friend uses ibn and takes advantage of the small business seminars. strugglebrother
I did speak to Soapguild today and they did say they cover candles as they are working within the field of soap and cosmetics. They are a tad cheaper than Indiebusiness network but seem to offer a fair few discounts on shipping / carriers and with suppliers as Bulk, Lebermouth etc. I'm waiting to hear from Indiebusiness network on the phone, no one in the office when I called. Candybee
When I got my insurance I was comparing both Indie and Soapguild too. I went with the Soapguild and glad I did. They cover my soap and candles and all my other B&B stuff. Plus you get discounts from many suppliers that I use so that is very helpful. wthomas57
Sorry if late to this party.. but do not go with Soapguild unless you also sell soaps and/or cosmetics. They will not cover candles if candles are all you do. This is explicit on their website, FAQs, etc... as well as I have received written confirmation of this. @strugglebrother - be careful who you spoke with. If you do not ALSO sell soaps or cosmetics, your candles are not covered. They make this very clear. Hence, I am with Indie. And am happy so far.
