Chefmom
Is it just me, or does anyone else notice that ever since Candle Science launched the new website they dropped a lot of product? I was sitting down to make an order with my list, and of quite a few items that I usually buy there they no longer seem to carry most of them. I understand streamlining your inventory, but wow they carry less and less every year
Oceangazer1
I haven't noticed it. What products are missing? I just know i don't like the new site all that much. I'm a creature if habit lol
Chefmom
I have always bought my tea light wicks there, and the link for the wicks is still on the pre tabbed wick page, but "no products are found", no tea light wicks! I wanted to pick up a test slab of the J50 and 4786 and they aren't selling slabs of most all of the waxes, only cases, so unless I want to sink a $100 on a test wax I'm out of luck. I have two candles that are best with CSN 11, I tried 9 and 12, but the 11 worked best. It's their wick, but that size isn't listed anymore. I have looked around for the TL series wicks and most suppliers carry the vague "small medium and large" TL wicks or only one generic size. Candlewic carries them, but only one size in stock unless I want to sink more than $100 to get the three sizes I use the most to be custom made. I can get the waxes from Peaks, but I like to piggy back my fragrances with other items for shipping and so I would pick up things from Candle Science. So my fragrance order is JUST fragrances and everything else has to come from somewhere else, which ups the overall shipping cost...... ....grumble..... Oceangazer1
Oh my that's not good plus they never answer their phone. But call heather and leave a message. Maybe she can help you. They may still have some things and it's not on site or they will allow smaller quantities? Hopeful thinking
Jcandleattic
Here are some tealight wicks I found by doing a "tealight wick" searchhttp://www.candlescience.com/search?q=tealight%20wick Would one of those work? I also couldn't find the CSN 11. As suggested, I would try calling. They may be trying to phase out the CSN wicks - even though they say they are good enough for the other natural waxes, they were specifically designed for the Palms, that they also no longer carry. Candybee
I hope they don't phase out their CSN wicks. They do say on their website that they are keeping them because they can work well in other wax. I like them better than RRD's in my palm. Trappeur
Yesterday I called them to place an order for some wax and oils as I couldn't get on my computer and I called and left a message about 2:30 and when Heather called me back it was after 4:30 - 2 hours laters. I know the cutoff time to get my order in to have it shipped the same day is 4:00 so there was plenty of time to have placed the order but when I spoke to her she told me they don't take phone orders - only internet orders....(unbelievable) and she wouldn't take the order. And I had called a second time a little after 3:00 so they could ship it out....so they lost my order and I ordered from somewhere else. It must be nice that they are making so much money that they can afford to turn away orders! Huh! Trappeur

Trappeur IMO 2 hours later is not that bad of a turnaround time, who knows how busy she could have been? - HOWEVER - refusing to take an order over the phone, well, that is ridiculous. What if your internet was down, and you HAD to have those items to keep your business going? What if you are like my mom who functions just as well throughout her life without any sort of internet, email, nada?? (I mean seriously, she doesn't even have a cell phone!!) I mean there are a LOT of reasons not to place an order online, and it's ridiculous that if a business has a phone they won't take an order over the line. Makes me shake my head too... Guest OldGlory
Trappeur, didn't you have trouble with CS a few months ago? Hope it's not a symptom of a larger problem.
Trappeur
Thats exactly why I tried to call it in because my internet was down....I just went and posted in the classifieds what I was going to order from Candle Science and now was looking to see if I could get any of these scents from someone here on the boards because I got so pi.......ed off that they wouldn't take my order over the phone. Geesh 50 pounds of wax and 5 pounds of oil I was going to order isn't chump change in my book....Maybe it is in theirs. Trappeur
Trappeur
Trappeur, didn't you have trouble with CS a few months ago? Hope it's not a symptom of a larger problem.Yes, I was going to order 2 50pound boxes of wax and some tins and when I called them to ask them why there was an extra 14.00 shipping charge besides the shipping charges for the wax, Heather told me that the 14.00 was for the shipping of the FREE 1 OUNCE SAMPLE! I had the courage or I should say to ask her to put in an envelope and just send by mail as it was absurd that they charge 14.00 and change for the free sample. She said she couldn't do that and that was UPS's charges....I then told her how ridiculous that was and that I can order from Candle Cocoon out west for less than 1/2 the price they were charging and then I even told her they need to do something about that as I was on a forum, lol, lol and Candle Science was going to have a post put up by me.....I was so mad...I told her it sure looked like CS was making a little profit on the shipping somewhere...lol.....I was on a roll....I was still very nice to her and talked with respect but she knew I was p.offed. moonshine
Wow- I am very shocked as CS has been the one supplier that has always been my most reliable when it comes to getting my stuff and having everything I need- their shipping has been the cheapest as well- there are suppliers here in Michigan that charge more to ship me wax than CS does....I am baffled by this
Oceangazer1
I have ordered from them for quite a long time and find their customer service to be questionable. They just don't seem to really care. Last I spoke to heather I told her it would be so nice to have testing reviews on their fos for cp soap and she was like oh no we won't do that we only strive to sell candle supplies um ok
Oceangazer1
I will continue to order from them because I live in Florida and get all of my wax wicks and jars not to mention great fos Edited October 23, 2014 by Oceangazer1
ktaggard
I rarely order from CS anymore. Just a few FOs. I was excited to hear about their western location that opened in my state. I thought it would be an advantage, but I am finding that I can get all my wax and jars from Peak cheaper. CS shipping from 6 hours away is always considerably more than Peak - that is a few states away. It's very curious!! Oh, and not to mention sales tax is a real bummer. That's not CS's fault, but 8.2% increase to my order stinks!!! (I know -I should send them a tax exempt form - wonder if that would be a big hassle with them)
kfintoni
I just posted about CS on another thread where I went on a rant. They lost an order of mine that they said had shipped of 200 lbs of wax. This has set me back 2 days at a very busy time of the year. I was not a happy camper. They did overnight it but a casual i'm sorry does not cut it in my book. That is lots of $ out of my pocket. I need to do some serious searching and price comparisons on getting my wax elsewhere. 7 Pawz
Honest engine!!!!!!lol TrappeurThats so true, all I wanted from one supplier was 10 one oz samples of fo and I was told that the UPS rate was $14.00 for up to one lb of merchandise and to top it all off, Fedex and UPS have increased their rates
